People hated his reasoning and attacked Griesemer to what amounts as a shill or a low-skill developer for 343 because he thinks the theory that the 343's intention to make women invincible in the game for political reasons is retarded. It is to note that Griesemer never joined 343 after he left Bungie in 2010.
I'm astounded at how badly people need this invincible wahmen conspiracy shit to be true.
(I'm also questioning Jamie's intelligence/sanity for willingly posting on twatter in 2026)

You are correct. In the true and honest Halo Combat Evolved the Plasma Rifle and Plasma Pistol are insanely overpowered, the stun effect is a huge reason why. But some other benefits of the plasma pistol and rifle is that they are also everywhere in campaign and in Halo CE they do full damage to Flood and the backs of Hunters.

Bungie would proceed to nerf the fuck out of the plasma rifle, plasma pistol, magnum and shotgun because of how versatile and powerful those weapons were in CE.
The CE pistol is still probably my favorite weapon in a game, ever. Combined with the overcharged plasma pistol it made legendary an exercise in precision, when you were good elites weren’t really any trouble, its still fun to me today.

The CE multiplayer is also the funnest multiplayer to me, but that’s probably time and place, being in a dorm with built in LAN in all the rooms, such a fun time.
It’s hard to explain, but with the pistol it was 3 headshots and you’re dead, so there was still some time to react, compared to main weapons in other games where a headshot is instant death. The sniper rifle, rocket, and shotgun could be one hits, but were a limited resource, the pistol was bread and butter. It felt like someone could get the drop on you, but skill could dig you out of it.
There was also a way using gamespy and a computer to play online before Xbox live, although the lag was pretty bad sometimes.

Such a great game, it’s a shame this remake sounds like it’s shit.

Considering how retarded and woke the company is, both are possible. Ffs they have the respawning girl who 1 shots you, woke lines, and all previous works... It being intentional or shit coding is basically a coin flip odds.

And that's kinda the worst part because it's kinda like that "i was only pretending to be retarded" meme, but they are both retarded, and willing to play off being retarded as a cop out. Its shrodingers retardation.

What reason does Williams have for shitting on John? Did he kill some of her men, too? Did a Spartan steal her kill once and steal the glory? Did a Spartan kill one of her friends?
Yes, actually, but its one of those book lore things, from the original trilogy. TL;DR Right after getting the supersoldier surgery, John ended up killing two ODSTs and nearly killed another two in a 4v1 boxing fight, didn't know his own strength yet. Between that and the Spartans stealing their limelight as the elite of the elite up to that point, there's been a fairly harsh interbranch rivalry.

Problem is, sounds like they didn't ever fucking bother to establish and explain this in game with her. You just end up with a character acting bitchy who's only explanation of her behavior is in a 20 year old book. You can do that for small side references, personality quirks and such, you can't do that for someone pushing into the main cast as a primary characterization. If its important, it needs to be established in the specific medium its important to. Its just more of 343's shitty 'modern day' writing where they consider it the audiences fault if they haven't done their homework, like Marvel productions. There's a reason the H2 and H3 ODSTs don't act like right cunts, and its because they didn't bother pushing that angle because it doesn't actually matter. Its a fun piece of world flavor and actually establishes a bit of player activity into character activity, vis a vis players/chief often trying to protect and keep their marines alive. He's got some guilt over killing those guys.

Also, did the story need another balls to the wall swinging dick? Johnson's already that, the overly stereotyped sergeant, and Stacker frankly helps overstuff the trope, establishes it as 'normal' among the marines. You'd think they'd want to give her an actually interesting trait as opposed to sloppy seconds.

They added the prequel missions just to introduce the tough girlboss character that I guarantee will show up later, either in the 2 remake or Halo 7.
She dies in DEIvolved, thankfully. But I wouldn't put it past 343 to bring her back and re-write Halo 2-3 in a way that makes her the real hero of the story. Their nuthuggers would defend it with an unrelated lore snippet from a 20 year old book btw.

And this sounds like a retcon. I've read The Fall of Reach and don't remember her at all.

>One ODST having a grudge in a book somehow mutating into "ODSTs don't like Spartans" just so people can defend this chick being a cunt to MC for no reason

343 momento

By the time the Human-Covenant war started, it was a full-blown civil war.
Even before that it was pretty bad. The UN wound up nuking an entire world, Midsummer, after a rebel group managed to take over. The Chief and the Spartan-II's were originally intended as full-blown childhood-indoctrinated mass murder units who never question orders as the less genocidal means of the UN keeping power.
Also, to add to what I said, the only reason the UNSC found out about the Covenant when they did was that they went to planets thinking it was insurrectionist activity. That's how Contact Harvest ended up happening: Johnson and his team were sent to Harvest to deal with what they thought were insurrectionists, and it turned out to be a first contact situation. Halo Reach had the same scenario happen. Reach was so close to Earth that the UNSC thought the Covenant hadn't found it yet, so when weird shit starts happening, they send Noble to check it out, thinking it's insurrectionists trying to infiltrate the planet.
If I'm not misremembering Contact: Harvest the insurrectionists were already incredibly active on Reach, since that's where the first few parts of the book with Johnson doing anti-terror ops happen.
Flush Williams down the toilet :story:
There's only one girlboss Williams I recognize as valid, and her name is Ashley. Thankfully she too has a boomstick.

Ashley's racism is based and correct. The Council did abandon humanity in its hour of need and it's only when everyone else's homeworld that got fucked did they help in the end.

Furthermore, Bungie's idea of man being forerunners is amazing as far as storytelling goes, a very clever twist really.
a twist that is hinted at the end of the first game on the pillar of autumn? guilty spark's line in there is meant to make the player puzzled with him saying our.
Humanity being the Forerunners and basically forgetting that fact makes the game much more interesting. Essentially, the prophets worship ancient humanity and after finding it out, decide to genocide mankind to hide the truth. Once they get past the point of no return (High Charity has fallen, Flood is super strong) it's almost necessary to light the rings. Halo 3's Prophet of Truth was poorly written, but he was right to still try to light the rings, even though he knew what they would do.
You're an honest to God retard if you think that the Forerunners being their own separate race is a good thing. Especially since 343 had to jump through so many hoops to make it "work."
Guilty Spark was made "senile" to explain why he thought humans were forerunners. Even though he heavily implied forerunners were humans in CE and outright said it in 3.
They had to create the Mantle to explain why humans could use forerunner tech easily when others couldn't.
are you talking about bookshit? do us both a favor and kill yourself because on halo 4 and the terminals they separate the advanced humans and the forerunners in order to justify the gay trope of advanced civilization being extremely retarded with the flood being used as a callback and a justification of their new ocdonutsteel while keeping the halos around, also why humanity got devolved, still, it's that failed writer shit of adding lore to things that were left vague on purpose and trying to overexplain shit but it works perfectly to justify their crap and pass the retard stick to the new forerunners and focus on a new enemy while keeping the covenant around for soypog reasons even though the truce in halo 3 was a thing...
>b-but bungie uses the books
i am talking about halo 4 and the terminals, they managed to play it well on that ground without the need for their gay books with the regards of advanced civilization being destroyed by their own retardation trope.
The Gravemind's line "I am a monument to your sins" literally means nothing in 343's fanfic context, but in Bungie's original plot it is the rawest line in gaming history.
TLDR you're a faggot
good to know halo is a game of your childhood for you to say that, i hope my post pisses you off even more with the predictable "i'm not mad, i'm laughing and you mad" cuck-out.

still, has there been mentions of the new slopmake going to rape halo 2 outside johnson's line?
