DDoS attacks

Uh, unless GPUs are going to make bandwidth irrelevant, that's not happening. The cost of the hardware is basically one month's cost of bandwidth expenses.
Hence the "depending on how you look at it". I actually haven't been around wholesale traffic side of things for decades now. How does billing for traffic work nowadays, what are the rates? Last time i was involved in an ix, paying for traffic was scarce, it was an honor system, and hardware for multigigabit bandwidth was fucking expensive

One issue is the DDoS overwhelms the upstream provider Null is connecting through, so they just BGP blackhole all traffic destined to him so it wouldn't reach the GPUs in the first place. Crazy to think that overwhelming the site itself is just a second order effect of the amount of throughput the DDoS is sending.

Do it naked, assert dominance.

"Shut up! Enough already, Prince! Who cares about Cloudflare anyway? The man has only one product, for Christ's sake! Doesn't anyone notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! I invented Kiwi Farms, I invented it! What have you done, Matthew? Nothing! You've done nothing! Nothing! And I will be a monkey's uncle before I have you ruin this site for me! Because if you can't get the job done, then I will!"
