Marvel Cinematic Universe

That sounds downright dystopian; a movie franchise that never ends. Putting aside the sheer arrogance it would take to believe that people will still be buying multiple tickets to the next filler movie between Avengers well into the 2030s, you can't be on top forever. You've dominated the box office for 18 years. Someone else will come along and replace you.

Even long running names like Godzilla or James Bond have multiple continuities to not confuse new viewers.

So how come a the subject of a random video recomention in my Youtube feed is better looking than the actress who is playing MJ?

This movies have an unlited budget to find an atractive actress to play the supermodel character, so why am I seeing someone better looking in a random video?!

I like both his depiction of Spider-Man, and that of Andrew Garfield, despite the later being unfairly maligned, and despite Toby's having the worst love interest by far (before they foisted the nigger on all of us).

Andrew's Spider-Man actually did show how the character could be scary, instead of always being a goof (Toby's Venom phase never did much for me), and the ending of his last movie was both tragic and moving
Your assessment makes me want to check out Garfield's Spider-Man. Holland always turned me off but it sounds like Garfield is not the same as his, regarding the story and acting.

Endgame was flawed, but had they ended or re-booted after it, I think people would still look at the MCU as a good and successful saga. Sure it was kind of dumb and had a lot of shitty parts (girl power!), but it was satisfying and had good arc ends for the characters everyone liked. The destruction of the MCU was everything that came after.

As for the Flash, I mean it put the nail in the coffin (or baby in the microwave, if you will), but I'd say it just passed on the grave of that collection of insane fever dreams that they cobbled together and called DCEU. If anything it was dead, falsely resuscitated by Aquaman, killed again by all the movies that came after, and then buried under the pile of radioactive manure that was The Flash (Gunn's canonically favorite capeshit movie btw).
This may be the wrong thread but I really enjoyed CW's Arrow and The Flash in their early seasons. Not Supergirl. She goes in the trash.

Grant Gustin played Barry well and it was one race swap I didn't mind because he got together with his adopted sister. If she was white it would be too weird. I'm not a huge comic fan but it may have played differently in his origin story. Even Reverse Flash was entertaining and Flash's villains were fun. Along with Arrow's. Whoever decided to label a miracle drug in the show as 'mirakuru' (yes the Japanese pronunciation of miracle) has my thanks.

I can't speak for the rest of the series because I dropped it and Arrow before they both went off the rails. Their first few seasons were very entertaining. I still have not seen a single DCU movie because they don't look fun or cool. CW versions had camp and I could tell the actors had fun with it.

Special mention also goes to Gotham before it too fizzled out. Too many character teases (look it's Red Hood! Jk no. Oh look it's Joker, Harley, and Two Face! Haha you're wrong) but most of the actors were also having fun being deranged. Whoever was the casting director did a great job. Selina Kyle's actress looked like a young Michelle Pfeiffer.

I always felt Garfield was more Petery than Toby. That being said, Toby had by far the stronger cast and the best villains.

Early Arrow was pretty great, back when he was actually murdering people like a proper vigilante, and then they proceeded to ruin it by turning it into a romance drama for obese women.

Couldn't stomach watching the Flash because his love interest is a nigger.

To me the only worthwhile DC continuity is DCAU. It has a start and a solid epilogue, and WB/DC are apparently content to leave it mostly unraped.

Yeah Arrow leaned too hard into pandering to shippers. I wanted to see Black Canary and they botched it with an OC.

As for Flash I did read Flash's gf was originally blonde or redhead or something and that would have been acceptable too. I wouldn't want them to have the same hair color. So yeah it could have been another white actress. The dad was a good actor and I don't fault him. This was early or deep into race swapping but I remember going 'wait a minute' around Thor's race swaps and I think this happened in Flash a lot after or during the same period. It was something you couldn't push back against at the time.
Funny enough the actress was saying they were racist to her on set because she was the only black girl but other reports just said she was not fun to work with. Grant is a good guy and shouldn't be labeled as a racist. I don't think he's had work since though. Pity.

A theater near me did a marathon of all the Spider-Man movies -- Raimi, ASM and Marvel -- and having watched them all back to back the only legitimately bad one is SM3.

I think Holland is fine. McGuire plays a better Peter and Garfield plays a better Spider-Man, but neither of them really capture the aspect of the mask allowing Peter to come out of his shell and confidently be who he actually is, in my opinion, which is an important aspect of the character. He's neither the best Peter nor the best Spider-Man, but he does play both, which I don't think you can say about the other two. Which is probably as much a credit to the writers as the actor, in fairness.

On the other hand, his performances are gimped by the fact that he hasn't really been allowed to be in a Spider-Man story. There exists a decent Spider-Man story within Homecoming but it's crowded by crossover shit and undercut by him being Iron Boy instead of his own character, and No Way Homo is basically a crossover team up event with how many fucking people are in it. The closest we get is Far From Home which takes him out of NYC and away from his established rogue's gallery to fight fucking... the elemental golems from Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire which just frankly doesn't work. He hasn't been allowed to just be Spider-Man in New York fighting crime, the only time he has was when he was Iron Boy rather than Spider-Man.

I heard some youtuber say this is intentional, that Marvel and Sony spent three movies letting us get comfortable with him having a massive support network to insulate him from consequences, so that it feels more impactful when he loses that. Which I think is incidentally true, but I don't buy for a second that it was planned out that way, nor do I buy that Brand New Gay is going to deliver on that front.

What I'm expecting from Brand New Gay is everything that should be in a Spider-Man movie -- Spider-Man fighting his own rogue's gallery in New York, crossing paths with other NYC street level heroes, and struggling to balance it with his civilian life -- all relegated to a 3-5 minute scene in the cold open in order to make room for yet another crossover lead-in to somebody else's story, in this case X-Men and Doomsgay.

It just occurred to me that I have been waiting ten years to see Michael Mando play Scorpion and he's probably going to get jobbed in a montage and not even be allowed to deliver any dialogue. At this point I think Marvel is actively trying to punish people for wanting to see actual superhero stories.

Marvel was better when crossover exposition was relegated to mid/post-credits stingers.

E: And of course there's also the aspect that the Raimi movies were set in the world we grew up in whereas Holland's iteration is a blatant zoomer so he's never going to be as relatable.

If Doom had not been such a pansy in these movies, people would be looking back on them with a lot more fondness.

Aside from the portrayal of Doom, I don't hate these two FF movies. The cast made them enjoyable for me.

Still, though, I unironically think the Roger Corman FF is still the best cinematic portrayal of these characters by far.

Tobey Maguire is the GOAT. End of story. He is the sole reason why No Way Home made as much money as it did, and I won't hear otherwise.

I vividly remember seeing Spider-Man 2 for the first time at a midnight screening in 2004. As the credits rolled, I turned to my brother and said, "That's it, right? We'll never get another Spider-Man movie as good as this."

I've yet to be proven wrong, and I'm okay with that. Spider-Man 2 is one of my favorite movies ever, let alone my favorite capeshit movie.
Roger Corman FF is an underrated hidden gem in my opinion. As for Spiderman, controversial opinion but I always liked the 3rd one best.

When you're not looking at it with rose-tinted goggles it's easy to see that the MCU had a lot of mid filler movies. These movies served an important purpose when they were released - to grease the wheels year-round and make it so fans always had a "good enough" Marvel movie to see every quarter - but once the spell is broken I just see them for what they are: formulaic filler that justifies their own existence not by actually being good movies, but with "everything is connected" BS. The one that's the most emblematic of this for me is Dr Strange. Like it's not unwatchably bad, but I really struggle to think of anything positive to say about it and have zero desire to ever re-watch it. The story just has ZERO sauce, you'd think it would be easy to write a fun evil wizard character for Dr Strange to go against but instead they just wasted Mads Mikkelson in a complete nothingburger role.
The MCU is really just dumb fun, crowd-pleasing entertainment that interweaves itself. It wasn’t fine art or anything, the vast majority of villains were forgettable, and really dabbled in themes shortly, but it served its purpose.

Once Endgame happened, cracks started to form and obviously the soddy writing kicked in. The over-reliance of the interconnected world, on top of the whole Majors incident as well as others, kicked in. She-Hulk and Captain Marvel are in mind.

I don’t know Marvel’s plan is after Secret Wars and probably Black Panther 3. There’s not much interesting places to go and nostalgia is thinning for Marvel. To think that it can even last in the 2030s should be considered a stretch.

I have

I didn't really follow the whole Paul drama after the initial reveal, but this is straight up NTR fetishism.

I am morbidly curious to see if any of it will leak into the new movie. Is the mystery meat goblin going to cuck twink Peter?

I love how Greg Land's retarded art is so beyond symbolic here that I can't tell what's shittier, the fact that he looks like Spooder-Man, or the fact that he looks like he's metaphorically hung by the neck without a noose (which I would too if I had to live as this version of Peter Parker). Hell, even the Spider on his chest is leaving him kek.

At first I thought he traced the Spider-Man from the intro of the objectively best Spider-Man game of all time Web of Shadows.
10196.jpg
Turns out, he may have actually ripped-off the Sad Batfleck meme.
10197.jpg
(Notice the weird shoulder shape is from the cape).
10195.jpg
The full page is even funnier cause you can really tell Greg just traced-off a porn whore again.

Speaking of this image & Paul:
This sounds awful but I wish everyone in the story would die.
The entire storyline is just ragebait of the highest order which is officially published & the modern reader-base pays for Marvel to go through with.

While there are a lot of people as a collective behind this known as the Marvel Editorial Department, the main man behind this was Zeb Wells, whose divorce saga alone is a sign of why things are the way they are (TL;DR - guy essentially lost a "Hollywood trophy wife" (by his standards), who later shit-talked him in interviews post-divorce, & later coal-burned & spawned a little mutant mudshark goblin that may be her progressive equivalent of a dogpurse), combined with the loser divorcee syndrome that most Marvel male writers have.

A good example is Joe Quesada & One More Day, in the sense that while most people may tell you that Joe projected himself on Peter enough to project his divorce on Peter, they either don't know, or won't be able to tell you that he also tried to date & fuck his own daughter through Peter Parker (it's a very funny story really). Zeb did exactly what Joe did, but in a way so fuck-tarded that Joe looked like a 4D Master Chess player in comparison just by one singular difference between the two.

Here's a bit of a detailed writedown of what exactly is Paul & just the sheer amount of antagonism Marvel holds for Peter Parker nowadays. But before getting into this, I'll be honest, I haven't touched this run & only been learning of it via autistic osmosis. I don't actually read any mainline story runs anymore due to shit like this. So if I miss anything, please pardon me I had this written down before on my Notes, I'm just adding pictures now.
This is mainly set after Brand New Day, which creates a lot of plot-holes later on.

He was first seen in 2022's Amazing Spider-Man. To begin with, before this run started, The Nick Spencer run before this ended on a really bright spot for Peter. It literally ended with Peter & MJ together on her couch, about to restart their relationship after divorce & were dating again for a while, & they even got engaged again.

Until Zeb Wells came along an entire year, shat all over that, & basically went "fuck you, fuck alllll this, we're going to throw all of this out the window so that I can reintroduce a villain I made for like 2 issues, 15 years ago. He's going to become the biggest, greatest threat Peter has ever faced."

Basically, For an entire year, people had to wait in finding out on how Peter & MJ separated again, & why she was in new relationship with some muttnigger named Paul & was mom to two kids that looked very suspiciously like MJ & her new boyfriend.
FuFwrANXoAMOjjp.jpeg
That face became a meme because apart from context, the art is just that fugly.

During which MJ wanted nothing to do with Peter by telling him to stop calling her & visiting her apartment to the point of blowing up at him when he asks her to talk things through after saving her on the Hellfire Gala & only conceding to "cease fire" on Harry's birthday.
10216.png
10217.png
(Comic is literally titled Spider-Man)

Then came the big reveal of what exactly happened to her, which was result of being trapped in alternate reality thanks to a villain of the week (Benjamin Rabin) that Zeb Wells created 15 years ago who was obsessed with a Mayan God of Mischief, Wayeb' (or Wayep), at the time of this story was coming out. MJ saves Peter from being killed from a monster/god when she’s uses a device that opens up a portal back to 616, only to get stuck with Paul in the alternate reality for what seems to be 4 years to her.

During this time, Peter was essentially killing any relationship he had, he fought the Fantastic 4 & Captain America for not wanting to open the portal & just generally being depressed. IIRC, even Aunt May was giving him cold shoulder at one point. This was all being done with what is essentially the ugliest art style possible making you hate it even more. Seriously, Peter's faces became literally memes at one point.

Meanwhile, MJ was forced to work together with a total stranger in order to survive attacks from monsters & attacks by Rabin, who threatens to return to kill her, after The Scarlet Woman has accepted her chains. Then after being the run for months from Rabin, MJ & Paul find a little boy & girl all by themselves in a wasteland. Then we get a shitty montage sequence in which show MJ & Paul are raising the children as their own.
FRmlgsCXsAEgTs1.jpeg
10199.png
While also working together on developing what come to be her Jackpot bracelets (which he made from seemingly nothing, but can't make a portal back home somehow) that over time develops into a romantic relationship between the two.

Then after being rescued by Peter, she makes it clear that’s she’s not Paul or the kids, as she now considers them to be family.
10221.webp
There's a little fun thing to notice here.
There's a very weird discrepancy with Paul that whenever anyone who isn't John Romita Jr. draws him, he's drawn as very hunky. Only when Wells is on this story he's gotten the mystery meat status, which makes a lot of sense if you read the Zeb Wells Divorce Saga above.

The reason behind this is that Romita Jr. also like to self-insert through this guy like Zeb Wells by making him a better looking version of himself.
10214.png
Now, before I go ahead, someone might be thinking what the fuck is Jackpot?
Jackpot is many things, one of those things is that it's a bastardized version of the entire Spinnerrete saga from Brand New Day. Made for one reason, to make her girlboss away from Peter, while twisting the knife in their relationship of giving herself "agency" from Peter.

Basically, Marvel Editorial were pussyfooting over the fact that they don't want MJ with Peter Parker or a key part of their stories, but they also don't dare kill her off, or commit her to someone else because it would be commercial suicide (which they've already done with One More Day, now they're having double thoughts on exorcising the dead body of the series despite making Paul a thing.

Mary Jane is Spider-Man's partner. She's the equivalent of Lois Lane to Superman or Selina Kyle to Batman, & Marvel knows it. That's why they tried to distance her from Spider-Man by giving her her own space, a new partner, a new environment, & a separate identity: Jackpot.

However, this new facet was poorly executed from the start. To start with, there's no agency of Jackpot's existence. For starters, another thing that Jackpot is she's unoriginal. In fact, she's the 3rd Jackpot. Remember I said that this being set after Brand New Day will cause plot holes later? This is one of them, probably the biggest one too. See, in BND, Sara Ehret was 1st, then Alana Jobson. Following Alana's death, Sara renamed herself Alana Jobson II in her honor. Retarded right? I know.

What's weirder is, there's not a single comment from MJ, Felicia, or Peter himself upon seeing it that mentions the other two, despite having one of the previous Jackpots (the one still alive) show up later too. It's the equivalent of them making Miles out of nowhere start calling himself Spider-Man & pretending there wasn't a Spider-Man before him named Peter Parker. Something Marvel editorial would love to do due to how much wank he gets, but may be shot in their offices for.

Then there's everything else about her. Her powers? Created, regulated (as in literally monitoring her every movement & controls how much power she has from behind a desk, who has a very pathetic moment doing this exact thing later), & given to her by Paul, a guy who even cucks don't like (I'm serious, you can see this instance on Rule 34 where the character is so detestable that people whose brained is hard-wired to white women being raped & brainwashed into afrocentric superiority by niggers & "mandingos" ... can't make themselves like this creature).

Also, the said powers itself are literally stupid due to the fact that she's been written as serious no-nonsense when in the Jackpot suit shows a lack of confidence on writing the character correctly; even more so when you consider how the bracelet's powers are so randomized for all terms & purposes it shouldn't even be attempted in using them. This is putting aside her just being a SHEIN Ben 10/Dial H for Hero.

Her costume? Felicia dumped it on her lap, pushed into it as a coping method for losing fake magic kids, despite said children being fake & were tools to kill her, making them no better than glorified magical Tamagotchis with malware, she ignores all that because "her love for them made them real to her" & it was thanks to them, that she finally understands the true meaning of Peter’s words of "with great power comes great responsibility". Which is not only is a fundamental misunderstanding of the history of her character, but also a complete betrayal as well. Funnily enough, she uses those dead kids as an excuse to avoid Peter.

Her foundations & motivation can be condensed into just this:
>I'm a hero because Felicia wanted me to clear my mind. The newspapers speculate that I am one, & well, should I clear my mind of losing my (fake) children?.

With a story lacking emotional weight & charisma-less characters like Paul, Felicia was being handled by other creative teams who can't write her for shit. She didn't experience any growth as a superhero or real struggles with her powers. Furthermore, the lack of editorial interest was noticeable; she had the Miles Morales spider-welfare problem where she didn't even have a single villain of her own. All of this meant that Jackpot didn't connect with the audience.

Compare it to Spinnerrete, it had a solid foundation: protecting her family, a well-constructed story, interesting conflicts, & a balanced relationship with Peter. She wasn't dependent on him, but she didn't ignore her superhero roots either. Hell, she actively pursues having a hand in creating her own costume, chose to assist Peter & share in his adventures, driven by the love & support of her very real daughter.
10215.jpg
One is an identity forged by MJ for a noble purpose, while Jackpot felt like Marvel's excuse to keep her alive after not risking killing her off in the Rabin arc.

The whole Jackpot thing got a reception as good as Hindenburg, which is to say it fails pathetically later on (& I'll get into why). But I wanna end this with one last hilarity. She almost got her own movie once by the guy who made CW Arrow. Which was in works for so long it might not even be about her to begin with but about the OG 2 Jackpots due to how old the project was.

So yes, if Madame Web did bomb at the box office, we would've gotten this film, but not about MJ, but possibly the other 2 Jackpot girls Sara & Alana.
Now here's the kicker in the Spider-AIDS filled balls, after all that retardation, it’s revealed that her adopted children were nothing more than fake magical constructs/chains by Rabin, who used evil maths (yes, unironically) to create 2 fake children, with the explicit purpose being to bind her & remove her connections to Peter, as part of nefarious scheme to kill her in order to become a god. Knowing what happened only made it worse because not only are the kids fake, but, & while it kinda screams itself, but for the deaf ears, MJ’s entire so called relationship with Paul is built off the highly contrived borderline Stockholm Syndrome due circumstances of raising the fake children created by his dad to chain her heart to Wayeb/his dark essence for the retarded sacrificial ritual to Wayeb. I mean, just think for yourself:
"I found two children with no parents magically able to survive in a wasteland. They see me as their mother, I can’t leave Paul because of them."
It becomes even worse when you consider MJ's own history over not wanting to be tied down when she was younger as well as her comparing Peter's guilt over Uncle Ben's death to Paul's father committing the fucking Omnicide of his entire world
10224.jpg
10223.jpg
From 2023's The Amazing Spider-Man #26. You can tell this is the Zeb Wells version with how he looks here. Also, holy fuck I forgot how ugly the art was. This needed an entire reprint because the colors are all wrong on their outfits.

This is the 2nd time she has done this, the other time was in this run's Infinity Comics.
For those who have no idea, Infinity Comics are basically Webtoons you get when you subscribe to Marvel Ultimate, Marvel's own reader. Which you're a nigger for doing considering Tachiyomi & forks exist.
From Astonishing Spider-Man Infinity Comic #17:
10189.jpg
This is retarded enough for even the editorial to think MJ is one back-handed bitch-slap away from to get some sense knocked in her & did something accidentally based. They bought back OG Peter Parker from classic comics for a second.
10188.jpg
The only thing that could've made it better is that Peter just went "Why don't you pop some pills & see if the kids come back? Oh wait, that's Plan B."

Of course, the editorial rectified this "accidental mistake" on their part by making him apologize for it on the next page.
10187.jpg
Also, can we talk about how FUGLY the art is? Sweet lord it's like a Pixar reject.

Also, fun fact, Ms. Marvel dies in this very same issue.

So yeah, 8 billion dead for his daddy dearest. Everything his father did was because Paul made it possible, so Ms. Marvel’s (Kamala Khan) "death" (due to this whole thing being for shock value & "death" not mattering in comics as a whole to begin with, she was brought back as a Mutie (or Mugga, if you will) is on his hands. TBF, there were signs there that he made the Jackpot Bracelets (which are basically Temu Omnitrix) out of seemingly nothing yet couldn’t make MJ a portal home. But it's retarded enough not to register in mind at first.

Just a few issues after this in 2023's ASM #35 we get to see the sheer spite of how much Zeb Wells, Nick Lowe, & everyone else in the Marvel Editorial shamelessly has for it's reader-base through a "Goblin infected Peter" story of sorts & Peter's (& the long time fans') very real grievances are gaslighted & brushed off as "I'm a big girl" & "nobody took me anywhere", it's literally used as a way to strawman fan critiques.

10232.jpg
10231.jpg
10233.jpg
>They make spider-man evil.
>Everything he says is fucking correct.
They didn't think this through, huh.

For those who don't get what the utter fuck is happening in these 3 pages, let me explain.

The Goblin Queen gets Kraven to help her build a spear filled with Norman's sins (Green Goblin Evil) & yes, I mean the physical manifestation of his "sins" here turned into some sort of STD here. Kraven attempts to stab Norman with it & Peter jumps in the way and he gets stabbed & gets the sins.

Peter then proceeds to be "edgy" & just finally chuds out the truth by putting on the black suit (no symbiote, just the suit) & buries Kraven (based as fuck, I know, but don't get too happy), he then turns into Sinful Peter & then turns on everyone else believing to have been wronged by Paul & MJ he attempts to kill Paul & is stopped by Norman who found Kraven & convinced him to reverse the ritual done on the spear so they could use it to absorb the sins from Peter.

They do so & in the end Peter is just in shock, it's hinted that Norman got the sins back at the end of the issue. They basically leave the door open for the Green Goblin to return but aside from that there isn't much lasting impact from all of it.

TL;DR - If you ever saw the meme of "The Spider-Man who Gobbles" it became infamous from this. Before anything else, Patrick Gleason is a good artist hard-carrying this run, but even then the art sucks at certain points.

Also:
10234.jpg
What?
10236.jpg
>“Nobody took me anywhere.”.
Bitch you were LITERALLY was taken & imprisoned against your will in another dimension for 4 years.

The entire thing gave us this:
10235.png
My absolute reaction to the state of Spider-Man.

Another thing, during this chapter's release, Kamala Khan was killed & was brought back as a Mutie (or Mugga, if you will). So, now you have a team of cucks who killed Kamala for shock value are really trying to lecture readers (who have just said they feel like this run has damaged Peter & MJ as characters) about feminism & misogyny kek. Truly the most retarded “no u fag” in history of forcefully separating a healthy relationship to put one character in a traditional nuclear family role while humiliating the other & saying those who dislike that are the problem.

One last fun fact before ending this section, during this time, that "my Jackpot" thing was also competing with DC's Catwoman in "retardation spouted by a mainline character to their love interest" competition. Selina told Batman that if the thugs are better trained as thieves then less innocent people would die & supervillains would lose goons instead of y’know those thugs becoming better goons for those supervillains. It was also just a jab at Batman since she blamed him for the wedding issue from Tom King's bankruptcy run of Batman. Ahh yes! Of course the crime rates will go down if people who do crimes get better at doing crimes! But "my jackpot" some how almost beat this.
One thing you will notice in this run a lot is invalidation of facts (probably the biggest example being Sinful Peter arc itself). The way of invalidation is something a I call CW meanie fallacy of denial (I'm working on the term). Most real people wouldn't act or talk like this in-person & when someone is categorically wrong, they're categorically wrong. They're not "right from a certain point of view," they're wrong.

The reason I call this CW writing is because this happened so much in Arrow in whatever bits & pieces I saw of it. See, whenever Oliver Green would do something that was objectively right, he would get in trouble because he was mean about it or something. Then, they would equate his meanness with the thing he did so that he'd end up being wrong.

It's a really bad writing mechanic because it's essentially manufactured conflict. All this run screams is that the writers enjoy writing nigger-IQ dialogue for clearly toxic relationships while also making the people in said relationships codependent on each other.

Also, I shit you not, almost every Spider-Man fan was collectively cheering & cracking open Champagnes like Napoleon going to war, when Paul held the ashes of his disintegrated children. That's how loathed this motherfucker is.

Now, the thing with self-insert characters is that whenever anyone else apart from the inserter writes them, they're an entirely different character. As such, Paul is very inconsistently written because sometimes he's shown as a gigachad who Peter wishes he could ever be (mainly in the Romita Jr. version), then in the very story he's from, he comes of as an abuser who looks & is one remote away from feeling like Marvel's Ron Toye (mainly when Zeb Wells version kicks in & might be telling us through his expy why he got divorced).

In the very main story he's from, Paul is really controlling.

During the ASM story, he punched Peter for being near MJ. He still went to Peter’s apartment for the express purpose of threatening him not to contact MJ, even when MJ was asking him to leave Peter alone. He still interrupted MJ & Peter right at the exact moment MJ was about to tell Peter something important.

He still tried to force MJ to leave Peter’s location, grabbing her arm when she refused. He still tried to force Peter to leave MJ behind, even when he insisted on saving MJ first. He still discreetly convinced MJ Peter HAD to be sent back instead of her. He still tried to co-opt her “hitting the jackpot” phrase, even though MJ turned down giving him a pass on using it (after making it clear she named her device after Peter, not him). He still rushed the kids away whilst instructing MJ what to do, even though it’s something she already knows. And he still lied to MJ about the difference in time between dimensions.

Then later in a different story, he's a coward. Here's a scene in the #1 of the 2022's 5 issue mini-series Mary Jane and Black Cat when he hides behind MJ & their kids when their apartment gets attacked.
10200.jpg

Oh yeah, speaking of this mini-series, there was another one apart from this called Jackpot and Black Cat, which did something even worse....
Now, you would think Paul, due not being a woman, would get some accountability for his actions of genocide.
10229.jpg
10228.jpg
10227.jpg
10226.jpg
Teehee, I was just following orders bro. But seriously, Paul is now Nurembergmaxxing.

Also, for those who have no idea, Black Cat was bisexual during this so her & MJ were a thing too (which they still are apparently).

Seriously, the same writers called out Tony for Civil War, the entire Avengers for letting Miss Marvel's rapist take her into another dimension as his bride & having a baby shower for her later....

TBF, it was written by Celeste Bronfman, an actual woman, so I didn't expect accountability anyway.

BTW, it's not just Peter, anything Spider-Man related characters also suffer from this faggot's existence. For example, this from the issue #3 of 2024's All New Venom (the one with MJ as Venom).
10201.jpg
This is set after Venom War
After Venom War, they parked Dylan with MJ & Paul, since Eddie has disappeared (he became Carnage apparently, & the audience knows why he disappeared, but the characters don't know he's Carnage yet.

As for why Venom isn't with Dylan anymore... I don't remem well, IIRC, In a later issue they talk & Venom is like "I love you, my son, but you know we cannot be together for now" (yes, he very deliberately uses "I" instead of "we" in some sentences), but I honestly don't understand why. Also, another thing if I'm not wrong was that Venom was dying. That may be something to do with it. That, & he spent a lot of Venom War convinced he could only hurt people he loved & bring them ruin. Maybe that's why he & the new host weren't friends.

So yes, after looting everything nice from Peter, he's now "atoning" for his Omnicide by trying to be by being a father figure to Dylan Brock... Something, which is literally known to be the driving point of Eddie Brock's character progression for the last decade & they're practically taking it away from him & giving it to Paul like a Section-8 housing welfare parasite.

Also, IDK if being a self-appointed step-father & shaming a homeless teen for acting out by insulting his missing biological parent, who he loves, & comparing said acting out to oh, I don't know, his own act of KILLING AN ENTIRE PLANET, all the while making someone else’s struggles his own to make up for his past actions that he’s brooding over that he can progress past by forgiving himself. But the general top-knot vibe is he won’t do that and instead take it out on his forced upon family (this time it was MJ's idea to adopt the kids & he just agreed for MJ's sake.

What makes it even funnier is that the 2nd issue ends on this.
10203.jpg

Paul really doesn't like being on the recieving end of the "My Wife's Son" syndrome he put Peter on for a while. But the fact that Mj is bringing up "Great Responsibility" & throwing it in Paul's face is some sort of cosmic irony, considering how she's been an absolute monster to Peter lately.
But that's not the funny part, the funny part is that it was followed by thus
10202.jpg

Which makes me wish that Dylan really should've just went:
“And unlike your dad, mine never got me to participate in genocide with him.”

"And unlike your 'children' Paul, I too am here. And alive 'n kicking ass. You know, because they’re dead (unknown to the fact they weren't even real to begin with, making it even funnier)."

"And unlike you, when my grandpa asked me to commit genocide with him, I said no way fag."
In fact, throughout this run (or whatever I've seen of it & learned through fandom osmosis). Paul is a faggot through & through in this. No seriously, apparently they were throwing every throwing every beta male/redditor trope they could at him (him being vegan, slimy-haired ponytail), & showing him to have too many arguments with MJ, which somehow makes MJ look like a cunt too.
10230.png
I sincerely can't tell how much of this is planned VS the writers falling over themselves to roll back the damage. Seriously, this is from Marvel Encyclopedia of the time.
10225.jpg
If you would notice the sheer damage control here:

The time dilation between 616 & Paul’s reality was always a retarded reason to justify the circumstances that led MJ to being with Paul. It’s evident that they tried to walk back on the changes that Wells made, but at the same time they were still trying to have their Jackpot cake & eat it. Note the bit where it says it "felt like years" rather than it actually "being" years? That is a complete retcon, it was clear from the original return that it had been actual 4-5 years or something, but ties in with one of Nick Lowe's responses where he denied she was actually older. How does that happen then? Do they even care? Probably not. Just like when they made the kids magic instead of their actual kids, they had an "oh shit nigger" moment & have been trying to walk things back ever since without totally losing face.

Now, while Eddie was being fucked over doesn't mean Peter will not be raped over somehow by this cretin. Because just before this story, in issue #3 of the spin-off mini-series Venom War: Spider-Man, Arachniote captured Jackpot (MJ), & Paul has to call Spider-Man in to save her because he's reading that the Jackpot gauntlet is about to explode.

Spider-Man berates Paul over it, and Paul still has the balls to say stuff like "If Jackpot wasn't good enough, what could you do to save her?" even though he's the guy calling Spider-man fix his enshittening of the situation.
10212.jpg
10213.jpg
Later in the final Issue #4, After MJ is saved (She was able to redirect the Gauntlet explosion & win the fight), they start to have a moment of rekindling their romance, before it's interrupted by Paul on the comms. Here's where we see the legendary panel.
10211.jpg
10210.jpg
10209.jpg
(It really does get worse with context doesn't it?)
10208.jpg
She became Venom after this, aka VenoMJ. It was also retarded, but it'll take it's own comment to explain.

Now, back to All New Venom. The best thing ever finally happens. He DIES!!! & very pathetically so.
10239.jpg
(That's Torment for anyone wondering)
10240.jpg
(You know things are wrong when the guy stabbing you even thinks you're a fucking nobody).
10241.jpg
Paul tries to nobly sacrifice himself... But:
10242.jpg
He doesn't get to sacrifice himself, or even get put out of his misery. He has to bleed out.
10243.jpg
MJ doesn't even talk to Paul. To make it even funnier, Paul didn't just take Torment's knife, but also Torment's words to heart. He's also dead in this.
10244.jpg
Peter really needed to clear that part out. Also Paul's body is copy-pasted in 2 panels here.
Now you'd think this would be funny on it's own, but it gets even funnier. This is the release version cover for the next chapter. He was somehow still on the cover despire dying last chapter.
10245.jpg
This was what it looked like on upcoming release.
10246.png
This is still not the funniest part about this either. It's the other official cover.
10247.png
Nigga got Mike Wazowski'd so hard that His face is blocked by the logo on the actual cover despite there being space to fit in they blocked him. Even the cover hates his ass.

And this is still not the funniest thing of all. It's what happened in the chapter after this.

Starting with the cover itself.
10248.jpg
This is a character mourning funeral chapter btw. Even the creators don't care kekaroo.
10249.jpg
Unironically MJ & Dylan are the only people here who ever had an actual relationship with Paul.
10250.jpg
Dylan seems to be the only one sad that Paul's dead & it legitimately comes off as teen angst more than sincere mourning.

Not that any of this matters cause:
10251.jpg
Our boy is already making the moves while Paul is rolling in his grave. The Spider-Rizz is so fucking back that I'm shocked they're aren't catch-up rough-fucking on his grave already.
10252.jpg
Seriously, the next page is a time-skip to a week & they're already back dating.
10253.jpg

Imagine you just died & your girl (who throughout the run already shows signs of not liking you but her "ex") just goes on a park date with her (better) ex a week later & calls you a "tech bro" in front of him... I may call him slurs, but this so much more insulting than anything even I could have come up with. Unironically, if I die & someone remembers me as a "tech bro" I'd rather someone put me in a deeper grave bro, I wanna be closer to hell as I’m embraced by the embers.

It's like the writers of this (primarily Al Ewing) can't make themselves like this guy despite trying to actually give this OC Donut Steel a character. Yet Ewing was trying his hardest to find good things about the guy & came up with "he didn't commit giga-genocide, he was just a tech bro", in the most wishy-washy way possible.

Like, you can tell that the writers were essentially tard-wrangling Zeb Wells niggery by trying to reverse the "damage" they believe the character went through but this just make her look like a BPDemon, when probably a few months ago, in-universe, she was telling to this very same Peter that "no we're not getting back together because I have children with him".

Honestly at this point they should just Mephisto this whole thing again. Seriously, imagine Paul goes to hell & kills Mephisto which ends up reversing the deal Peter made to get rid of his marriage to save Aunt May.

Oh yeah, one more thing before continuing, if you're wondering why MJ is just white-washing his crimes? Apparently he got retconned somewhere around this shebang & now he was just following his father's orders & dindu nuffin.

It turned from he helped his father with the evil maths shit to He just funded the whole thing & his dad kept it a secret what he was actually doing. He walked in on his dad killing someone & was shocked. He ended up killing his dad.

Yeah, everything Paul related was getting retcons on a weekly basis during ASM, so it's not surprising honestly.

Continuing Paul's humiliation ritual.
10255.jpg
First, I sincerely don't remember saying what she said in the 2nd panel about them being the same. Hell, the entire run was Peter being a broke, desparate, clingy, cuck & Paul being a "chad" whenever plot called for it.

Second, the entire bottom row now makes Paul a rebound because she thought Peter was dead. No cucking ever occured now apparently.
10256.jpg
She looks great in the first panel honestly.

Also, that middle part never shown to happen before. Hell, how'd she even explain the 2 kids?

Nothing interesting after this except Dylan is shitting on the guy who died for him, in front of him.
10260.png

The most recent Paul related news is an upcoming one-shot comic celebrating Mary Jane Watson's 60th anniversary called Mary Jane: Face It, Tiger. That coming next month on the 5th of August. Which had a cover release beforehand;
10258.png
Paul is behind Black Cat on this cover but that's only because everyone MJ's ever met is on there. Hobgoblin's head is bigger than his. When the hell has MJ met Hobgoblin? I'm serious, I do not remember it ever happening.
Paul is so astroturfed due to Zeb being Marvel's darling that he appeared in other companies comics through crossovers. Hell, he once had Power Girl go on a blind date with him in a Superman/Spider-Man crossover until Punisher cucked him.

Yeah, Before getting to Paul, she runs into The Punisher. Punisher is there to kill the bad guys who are going to to kill Paul because they think he's a DC villain (I think Vandal Savage, but I could be misremembering). Power Girl & The Punisher save Paul (unfortunately) & it is implied they go off & have sex. It's a dumb but cute couple of pages that fits in well as exactly what it is
10264.jpg
10263.jpg
10262.jpg
10261.jpg
I can't tell what's funnier, the competition joining in the hate on Paul, Punisher somehow being the nicest friend of Spider-Man through this action, or Gail Simone of all people writing something actually good for once.

But seriously, if Chainsaw Man didn't end already, he could've been the lead for Part 3 mogging Denji & Asa.

AAAH SAVE ME AKIRA YOSHIDA-SAMA
(Akira Yoshida way too funny to explain in this comment)
TL;DR - The Marvel Editorial has something subliminally worse than just disdain for Peter Parker. It's the fact they're losers who project their faggy self on Spider-Man & have the authority to officially self-insert their nigger self on Peter.

Última edición:
You know Holland is npt a good Spider-Man because the studio has never trusted him to carry a movie himself without other heroes and the ads never focus on him, its always Ironman, the Punish, the Hulk, or the other two Spider-Men with Holland in a supporting role because Marvek knows he can't carry the movie as the star the way the last two actors did.

As for Spiderman, controversial opinion but I always liked the 3rd one best.
I really like the 3rd one.
I know Venom is the studio addition that Raimi didn't want but he managed to incorporate him reasonably well enough.
The weakest part was Sandman because he was unconnected to anything or anybody.
Yeah, he supposedly killed Uncle Ben but that was it, he interacted with nobody in any meaningful way.
The only cool part about him was that one scene where he becomes Sandman.

Bully Maguire is one of the best memes in internet history.
The movie gets a pass just for that.
If you're so desperate to have a Spider-Man younger readers can relate to, why not use Miles Morales more?
Because Spider-Man live action movies have to sell worldwide and international audiences don't relate to a nigga.

Thank you for the in-depth analysis of the trainwreck.

ASM, despite being Marvel's flagship title (?), is basically a microcosm of why Western comics are a dead medium and get mogged by manga.

I don't know why anyone even wants Pete to get back together with MJ, she's been ran through more than the average Instagram model.

What I don't get about Marvel's insistence that Peter be miserable because he's "more relatable" that way. If you're so desperate to have a Spider-Man younger readers can relate to, why not use Miles Morales more?
That's the excuse they've been using for decades. The truth is that they hate Peter because he's a popular, White and male, and thus must be made to suffer for the sin of existing, and through him every other White man that reads the comic.

Also, they'll never touch their nigger sacred cow. They'll keep forcing Miles on audiences and trying to replace Peter with him as long as they can get away with it, despite the fact everyone despises Miles.

Good point. He was selected because he "looks" like Peter first, and nobody bothered to ask if he could act the role second.

Well every fan idea I have ever heard that involves them getting back together involves some magical stuff where Dr. Strange reveals that Mephisto knew he was going to be defeated in the future by MayDay's Spider-Girl so he got Peter to sell the marriage and then messed with MJ so he could take over the world and Peter has to go back in time and refuse to make the wish(That by the way if you read the Peter and MJ wedding issue you know went completely against what Aunt May wanted)and let Aunt May die and it resets the time line so that none of the bad writing of the past two decades happened and MJ doesn't remember it, but Peter does and he has to learn a lesson about letting go and live with the knowledge that he once made a selfish choice that erased his daughter and son from the timeline.

Most fans want things reset so MJ is back to who she was before she was a tool to punish Peter but they want the last two decades used to force Peter to mature as a character.

Guys, I think I found Spider-Man 2099's account.
That's the excuse they've been using for decades. The truth is that they hate Peter because he's a popular, White and male, and thus must be made to suffer for the sin of existing, and through him every other White man that reads the comic.
But he's their flagship character. Surely, they can't be that stupid, right? RIGHT?
Also, they'll never touch their nigger sacred cow. They'll keep forcing Miles on audiences and trying to replace Peter with him as long as they can get away with it, despite the fact everyone despises Miles.
I'll admit, I'm more familiar with Miles through crossover comics and the Spider-Verse movies, but are the comics where he's the lead really that bad?
