Now that it's over for the moment, I do wonder if his whole "no reuploads" shtick is because he doesn't want to be held accountable for the shit he says. I used to think he had some weird standards when it came to videos, but now it just looks like he can't handle scrutiny. Either way, I do wonder what he'll do next stream now that he got more attention than he expected. Maybe Kiwifarms will be added to the list of groups that have bullied him. I do think he should jump off the internet again. He seemed more positive when he came back, and he had almost finished a game during that time. Maybe next time he'll actually finish something.

It's kind of a funny comparison, as Chris doesn't seem to like his old cartoons. I don't remember when they did, but there is a clip of DD mentioning some guy with a shirt of one of Chris's cartoons. But in comparison to DD/J, Chris just seems to think that they're cringy stuff he made as a teen while still understanding that they're well-liked.
 
I've generally liked DD&J for a while after they left because I still found them a bit funny on their own. I slowly began to see how resentful, petty and disrespectful they get about literally everything they're apart of. They always talk about how they have files on everything and how dingdong gave julian a deadman's switch of shit to sling at everyone when he dies. I finally understood that they are just fucked in the head and have nothing but resentment for the world that raised them. All their traumas that they love to vent about amounted to a festering stain in a hole. And that seems to be where they will always be since they never want to grow the fuck up and move the fuck on with their motherfucking lives. For fucks sake will you morons just fucking commit to your passion and not your fucking past.

The fags were always so hateful and vitriolic about everything involving TGWTG. Oney and the NG boys would lightly rib them and talk about what goofs they were, while the codependent dependlovers would sperg about how they deserve to die and aren't good at anything.
 
i've been watching oneyplays since it was just chris playing dark souls (read as: i am a manchild) and i never liked the DD&J era. it was so retarded and gay. a lot of the jokes were the linguistic equivalent of keys jingling. there were some bangers but i had to skip 90% of the uploads. thanks 4 reading my blogpost :)

That's definitely Julian. He did a pumpkin carving stream years ago on his twitch channel so it's definitely him, there is a screenshot in this thread a few pages back.
Less sure on whether the blond guy is dingdong or not, don't know the context of that picture

I was always a bit suspicious of Ding Dong because he seemed to actually hate the Nostalgia Critic, unlike Chris who was just making fun of his cringe but held no contempt. An odd detail to have hang ups about but it always bothered me.
I think he is a deeply jealous person with a big ego. Using his time on OneyPlays to boost his game dev endeavours is actual poison to him which has slowly eaten his mind. Imagine that, all his income is from handouts. The reason he can freely (too freely even) work on his game(s) is because he's an internet funny guy's former sidekick. He wants to be a self-made man. He wants his own brand (why do you think he streams on his own website, to separate himself from the typical "Twitch streamer"). But he is always stuck playing the second tuba and living on charity.
And he clearly detests people who "lucked out", despite the very industry he's trying to crack being entirely about luck. Both internet entertainment and indie game development. Having the skills to make something is the bare minimum requirement, after that it's actually just gambling.

Meanwhile, a sane person would have never left the lighting-in-a-bottle chance that OneyPlays was for him. They would siphoned as much money as they can from the sycophants in order to scrounge up the capital (both monetary and social) to create something. Chris did this. Zach did this.
Fuck, even Doug Walker did this. He worked as a janitor to pay the early Nostalgia Critic bills. And once he got enough notoriety, he became the Critic full time. One episode almost every week for almost two decades. Some more experimental and personal (and cringe) than the others, some are for paying the bills.

There was a much less subtle reference chris could have done and DD should appreciate he didn't unleash this to follow him around for the rest of his days.

Their patreon is down 6 subs from June 1st now according to the wayback machine. 283 VS 289 which is a far cry from the nearly 500 subs they had back in 2023, was anyone keeping tabs on their sub count over the last couple days?
