I wonder if Kat feels trapped in that marriage because Phil is the best meal ticket she’s likely to find. Since they live in Washington (a community property state), she wouldn’t walk away with nothing.


I tested SuperGrok on this. My questions are in bold and italics.


Washington is a community property state. Even if Phil bought the condo before the marriage and kept it in his name, Kat would still have a claim under the Moore/Marsden formula.


When community money is used to pay down the mortgage on separate property, the community gets an interest based on the principal paid down during the marriage plus a share of the appreciation.


Example:

• $500k house / $400k mortgage at marriage
• Paid down to $300k during marriage
• Worth $650–700k at separation

Community interest = the $100k principal reduction + proportional share of appreciation. Kat would get roughly half of that.


I then asked about alimony.


In a 7-year marriage with a $60k vs $150k income gap, a decent attorney would push for 1.5–3 years of rehabilitative maintenance.


I asked about how much Kat would need to hire a divorce lawyer.


Typical rates are $250–$450/hour with a $3k–$10k+ retainer. Contingency fees are not allowed in divorce cases.

Not necessarily. She can:

• Ask the court to order temporary attorney fees
• Use limited-scope representation
• Arrange a payment plan
• Get legal aid or just pay hourly for specific help

It drops significantly. Unrepresented spouses commonly leave money on the table, especially on the Moore/Marsden interest and the length/amount of maintenance.

So even if Kat moves out and Phil stays in the condo, she would still be entitled to roughly half of the community’s interest in the property — not half the whole house, but half of the portion the community helped build during the marriage. This is why the idea that she would walk away with nothing is incorrect under Washington law. She easily would walk away with 50K plus 50% of any appreciation realized during the marriage. Child support isn't an issue in this case but she could have a strong case for spousal support maintenance in this case. They have been married for 7 years. Kat makes roughly 60K a year and Phil makes 150k.

Im pretty sure Phil s house has appreciated about 200,000.00, and I'm sure he pays as little as possible towards the balance, but still 7 years is a healthy chunk of change that she is entitled to 50% of in the event of a divorce.

I'm pretty sure if she ever did want a divorce, Phil would just pull a Chris Watts and delete her. Nobody would come looking for her so he would probably get away with it.

I don’t have much of an opinion about how I feel about Kat as a person, as I don’t think there’s enough public info to say who she really is at the core. So I hesitate to say she outright deserves the life she’s in at this point. Maybe she is a piece of shit, idk. But it would be sad to have known her before she met Phil as a friend of hers and check in to see what her life’s become.

Can he really prevent her from going out though? He spends most of his time on his stream, browsing X/detractor content and playing gachas/wondering what to buy next. Considering how awkward they are with each other, it is unlikely that they spend too much time together. I don't think there is anything preventing Kat from going out and socializing. Other than money, of course.

We have all the discourse of her viewpoint pre-Phil and of what her friend communicated too. She did just enough to rid herself of (possibly abusive) Subaru man and be saved by the streamer.

Kat found herself a low effort safe relationship and became a 400 lb cow. Literally no sympathy for her as she couldn’t be bothered to find anybody better than Phil Burnell. Heck I’d have more respect for her if she used Phil to move her across the country, then left his ass once she was secure in Washington.

And to the 2nd person’s point, at any time she could have made some effort to do something. She’s likely been a fat fuck since the tail end of COVID and she’s been in 1 place for nearly a decade and the only work experience she has is bottom bitch retail. It is all a dented tug of war and for phil, a Faustian bargain upon that. Phil wants money, three letter tards give him money in exchange for sapping his (live)lihood and dignity. Phil dances for money, gets upset at the increased attention and bayuns the three letter tards. He then gets no support, gets angry, his face gets saggier, three letter tards come prancing back and the cycle begins anew.

We all know Phil refuses to be bald so he should have spend some of that card payuck money for hair implants.

That's the funny (and honestly, pretty sad) bit, I think they're almost as bad with their money as Phil is. I think Tut was the only one that really had any sort of "fuck you" money, which is also why he didn't last particularly long, he threw his pocket change at Phil to make him dance, then quickly moved on to his next impulse. But the whales that linger? I think most of them are working fairly average/slightly above average jobs and they basically take the money that normal people would spend on their own lives/interests and instead pour it into Phil, who in turn sets it on fire a few hours later.

How mentally ill does someone have to be end up whaling out for DSP? Like out of anyone on earth you could be sending money to, you send to a bottomless pit that forgets any money sent the next business day.

Surely there is someone else more interesting to the send the money to or spend your money on other than giving it to DSP? I can't even imagine the level of retard who donates over $500 in one night to DSP

I think there's two main reasons they pick Phil. First, they project themselves onto Phil. In their minds, Phil is just like them, an innocent gamer the world just didn't understand and constantly bullied because they were secretly jealous of his intellect/success/nice guy nature. So, by propping Phil up, they're "owning the detractors" aka the highschool bullies they still haven't gotten over. When Phil is successful, they're successful. But, there are tons of online losers they could do that with, so why Phil specifically? It leads into the second reason, his small audience. Not only are they projecting onto Phil, but because so few people are supporting him these days, they stand out more and get to LARP as heroes, leading to them getting attention, without having to fight for the spotlight like they'd have to if they went to some random e-thot's stream.

I think that's really what keeps them hooked in the grand scheme of things. They're so desperate to get any sort of attention that they'll keep throwing money at Phil even if deep down they know Phil doesn't really care about them/they can't stand Phil and more often than not, end up snapping at him, only to come crawling back, donating to be unbanned. It's why a lot of Phil's viewers cite "the community" as why they stayed for as long as they did when they ultimately come here to complain about Phil crossing a red line by insulting their favorite franchise/another streamer/whatever else finally sets them off. And it's part of why they come here in the first place, they think that they can impress us in the same way they impressed Phil's dents by insisting they were actually just trolling him or the like, except since we're not retarded, we laugh at them and they leave. Or find out they were a pedo/furry/some other degenerate.

Basically, Phil's community is the only place where the bar is low enough that someone like them can not only fit in, but stand out.

I never said Nool is the ultimate authority on DSP lore, just that it is a decent introduction to what Phil has been up to recently. It's still up to each user to form their own understanding of him.

Yep the best possible thing to happen to DSP in my eyes is that he makes $1000 every single day at a minimum. He would quickly stop playing games all together and fully shift to card pack openings full time because there would be no time to game due to the sheer amount of packs he had to open + his prestream and shit.

Whales have already totally destroyed this man, it's not even a hypothetical. The constant drip feed of money even for the most ass content known to man has managed to self pignotize phil into thinking things like 'cleaning out my closet' and 'spending an hour and a half yelling at chat to handhold me through installing mods instead of doing it off stream' are somehow acceptable content. Hell, this week we're getting an entire night stream of him putting old super nintendo games or w/e in little cases.

He is legit going to encase every "collectable" he owns in plastic and stack them up in his closet never to sell or do anything with them. He could've bought a mini split AC and had it installed for as much money as he has spent on binders and cases for his shit that just sit in the closet.

He even somehow managed to buy the wrong plastic cases for the games and had to order the ones he actually needed for most of the games. He just wants to fucking spend like no tomorrow.
