What's weird to me is that he deliberately chose the most prominently visible braces possible. They were brightly colored, too, before being stained by the Canadian national dish (curry). I think they are hit & miss. Mostly, they get their job well done, but you can find cheaper tools from AliExpress at the same quality, or better made ones.
For example I got one of their precision screwdriver set, and the bits are not that good. They wear in short time and their magnetic strength is abysmal.
Whereas, my digital caliper, tweezers, laser gun thermometer and non-precision screwdrivers, with blackened tips, also from Parkside, are pretty decent.
Ryobi doesn't have a replacement warranty where you can take the tool to your nearest Ryobi dealer with the receipt?
idk if Einhell sells stuff in your country and/or if they offer the same conditions everywhere in the world, but in Australia and NZ Einhell (which is known as Ozito down here) stuff has warranties ranging from 3 to 5 years. All you have to do is take the broken tool to the nearest Bunnings (which is the sole distributor of Ozito stuff) with the receipt and they'll give you a brand new boxed replacement, no questions asked.
Ozito is a meme down here as the tools themselves are Ryobi-tier, and they're for weekend warriors or tradies who've just had one of their Milwaukee or DeWalt tools stolen / broken and needs a short term replacement.
For what it's worth, I'm doing a similar rebuild to Jake (only I know the order of operations and have been methodically going through them one by one), and my Ozito tools have held up just fine.
Einhell really reeks of low quality, I have seen better tools made by more obscure Chinese companies. (Probably parkside is better than them too).
I have used their soldering gun (for larger parts soldering), and it is so anemic, it takes a lot of time to heat.
I have seen also Einhell tools on store shelves, and I always thought they are low quality. Park-side ones feel more sturdy.
LTT's website states that the clear plastic screwdriver is Tritan, which is copolyester. Which is dumb as hell. The solution to screwdriver handles has been around since the 50s. It's CAB, which is what the old Craftsman screwdriver handles were made from.
Oh no ... While I don't doubt those Craftsman screwdrivers are made of better quality steel than today's tools, the CAB handles have the issue of emitting butyric acid as the CAB plastic ages.
That would be a problem for me, who stores screwdrivers in my room.
They're not the greatest, but most of the Ozito-branded Einhell stuff has held up OK so far. The fact they offer a 5 year replacement warranty on their cordless tool range is a big selling point, so even if it breaks a couple of times over that first 5 years, it's no biggie. Tool breaks, go to Bunnings, get a new one... assuming you keep the receipt (and only a retard wouldn't).
Unless you're on the tools for 35+ hours a week to make a living, their stuff is good enough for amateur hour guys like me.
I've never used an Einhell/Ozito soldering iron, so I can't comment on that.
That said, there's a difference between their brushed and brushless stuff. The brushed stuff is a bit feeble, but their brushless stuff is pretty decent for the money. Generally dependable, I've been rebuilding an old house using mainly Einhell/Ozito tools and so far so good.
I have no idea what those Parkside tools are like. Are they a Lidl home brand? If they're the ones I'm thinking of, then I keep hearing / seeing that they're supposed to be better than most low-end power tools in the same price range. Sadly. we don't have Lidl over here.
Also, were you the dude who said Aldi tools were underrated? I find them a mix bag. Their hand tools are generally good, but their petrol / gasoline powered garden tools are shite.
