Appart from the novelty of it they are super good. Very tasty and very filling, creamy and a little salty, they're great served alongside apples. I'd honestly take a bowl of these over a bowl of chips. (Incidentally they also pair well with chips).

I never personally had them as a kid but kids I knew got them and I thought it was bizarre to eat cheese like that at the time. These days I do actually sometimes buy a bag for snacking.

Baby Bel cheese isn't edam, it's more similar to Port Salut (It's made by the same manufacturer, but Port Salut is softer and a little more strongly flavored.)

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the department announced that, effective immediately, every single member of the department has been relieved of duty by the Barrackville Town Council and the Mayor.
Former Barrackville Police Sgt. Hunt reached out to 12 News about the situation and said that upon showing up to the department Tuesday morning, he found that the evidence room had been broken into.

The police chief quit on July 2nd due complaints and fighting with the city council and mayor over what he alleged was overreach by them. The city council and mayor have yet to really address the whole thing, best as I can tell.

Two decades ago my father contracted some unknown illness that manifested in stoke-like symptoms*. He and my mother arrived at the ER before the rest of the family, and when I walked in to see him the two phlebotomists were filling up a whole tray of vials. In particular, there was what I could only describe as a six pack of coke bottles** being filled with my father's blood. My sister went to catch me because she was sure I was going to faint and we'd have two family members in the ER. It's a story from my teens that still embarrasses me.
*He had West Nile virus
**They didn't actually take that much, there was a clear solution in the bottles to dilute the blood
