Get used to that tiny ass 50ft wide expanse of wall, because that's the entirety of the battle for Troy.

Remember the last few episodes of GoT with the attack on kings landing? the set looks identical. Seriously, that wall, the gate. It looks like they just borrowed it from asset storage.

I'm not watching a shitty cam rip of an even shittier film out of curiosity, but I am curious if it's a final edit because some of these scenes are ridiculous looking. No way a seasoned director shat out something this bad.

Nothing solid yet but I am very interested to see how this one goes, the last couple nolan films have made most their money after the first week goes by and the film becomes a "cultural phenomenon" due to good word of mouth and people wanting to be a part of the conversation. I do not see it happening for this movie, but maybe that is just cause I did not like it

Your forgetting that this NEEDS to gross a Billion just to break even given HollyJew accounting underrepresenting the actual budget + inflated marketing costs + the cinema taking anywhere from 30-50% of the box office. And breaking even is not why people invest in movie studios, they want huge profits.

I doubt it will even get there to be honest, but anything less will still be a box office bomb.

I skimmed through the cast and have a question: are there any Greeks playing in the movie in somewhat important roles? I feel like few years ago we had producers trying to find local gems and bring them to world, like Tarantino did with Christoph Waltz, but seems like all they do now are casting jeets and niggers.

Given that both Mario and Toy Story both barely made it to a billion, despite opening huge, and that Spider-Man is here in two weeks, I don't see this making a billion. Interstellar was released at the height of Nolanmania and it only made $701 million. I see this making around Dunkirk's $514 million.

Spider-Man is going to crush any legs this movie may have had.

The trouble with modern Hollywood using the same six actors in every movie is now movie goers just wait to see those actors playing the characters they know the best. They don't have to give some unknown movie a chance because their favorite actor is in it because that same actor will be in a movie about an IP they do know a week or two latter. Hollywood has destroyed the ticket selling power of the movie star while paying them more money than ever. It's yet another reason their business is doomed.

I tried watching the first 10 minutes. I may be a simpleton that hasn't liked any Nolan since Dark Knight, but this was borderline unwatchable. It's all over the place, way too fast paced and makes it a real challenge to follow along.

Even if you like it I can pretty much guarantee it would take at least 2 viewings to fully understand what the fuck is going on.

EDIT: Film Threat review is up. Alan gives it 4/10. Samantha Morton as Circe is one of the few good things. Which I can believe as she's a very good actress.
