What have you recently eaten?

I just rawdogged some garlic, fucking incredible. put on a cracker, wash down with some greek yogurt. do you guys have some tips for peeling them easier? I'm unironically about to just eat the peel too if I can't figure this out. these shits are so annoying.

I just score it with a thumbnail and peel it. Cut off the nasty, woody endings. I've found eating a couple cloves of raw garlic can make you actually feel good. Plus it keeps away vampires, so there's that, too. It also keeps away nearly everyone with breathing distance unless they're also a garlic fiend. But I don't want people around who aren't garlic fiends anyway.

Also, a Walmart rotisserie chicken. Half of it anyway. Previous incarnations of this always struck me as utter plebbery, but early in the morning right when they were coming off the rotisserie, they smelled delicious so I checked them out. Perfectly browned skin, looked seasoned, $6 for the whole chicken. Then it was actually delicious, moist and better than Costco's.

I'm actually impressed. Check out this amazing deal if you get the chance. Maybe there's just an inspired cook at this particular Walmart but this shit is great. If this is actually now their standard chicken they've chucked Costco off its throne.

I learned from Good Eats to cut the tips off, then just smash it with the flat end of a large knife
the outer shell breaks open sorta like a peanut and you just pop it off from there
also to get the garlic smell off your hands (very carefully) touch your large flat stainless steel knife to you engarlicked skin under running water
not cutting off your flesh, but touching the flat of the blade does some ionic thing that disrupts the garlic germs' ability to stick to you

I'll check it out, thanks. I want to avoid smashing them before they get in my mouth though, the flavor is activated when the garlic cells break and then the flavor immediately starts breaking down into less potent stuff. if you want peak garlic flavor and burn, you gotta chew that shit fresh.

also the steel removing the smell doesn't work, there's zero heckin Evidence and Studies, not to mention any Peer Review to back it up at all. but if you still believe in that nazi propaganda, you can actually purchase stainless steel "soap" for that purpose. but regardless, the smell is a benefit for me. I often struggle to keep women from throwing themselves at me with reckless abandon, and the stank keeps them at a safe distance.

shit works for me

Filet "medallions" and cheater's garlic bread. The medallions are where the tenderloin is too small to cut real steaks, way cheaper that way. The garlic bread is just whatever bread is available, butter, and some garlic salt under a broiler until the bread is toasted. I was big leaguing it tonight with some french bread hamburger buns.

Put the bulb in a grocery bag and give it a good smack on the counter. You don't need to wind up on it but as good as a flick of the wrist gets. What's left on the cloves is pretty easy.

Amy's Chili, hot, but with a chopped up Hungarian wax pepper from one of my four plants that I decided needed to be eaten, finished with a few splashes of Billy sauce.

Lately I've developed this kick for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I'll usually just eat one or two for lunch/dinner. Recently this evolved into putting tortilla chips in them as well which somehow seems to work, nice texture and balance of sweet/salty.
I've done this, but with come crispy nearly burnt bacon instead for the salty crunch. probably puts you on track for a heart attack a lot faster than tortilla chips, but it's so worth it.

Dolly Madison Zingers
back in March a few cases of DOLLY MADISON branded showed up at the gas station near my job

I thought this was a test run for a revival or something but now I'm not so sure they didn't just get some Uzebkistan where the brand still exists or they were just that damn old
they also had a bunch of (quite tasty) cookies from Ukraine. like Blyat Crisps or whatever strawberry flavor
tbh I'm considering buying the last pack just to leave as a memento of whatever the fuck this was

Sardines on Finn Crisp crackers. There are times I just want a light savory snack and a tin of sardines in olive oil and four or five crispy rye crackers is just about perfect.
