It isn't the 90s anymore, you can get leather seats in actual economy cars nowadays, and have been able to for quite awhile now. My dad was shopping economy cars in 2015 and specifically wanted one with leather seats. Was very easy to find one, as the Cruze, Jetta, Corolla, Civic, Focus, Mazda3, and probably others I forgot, all had/have it as an option.

On a more serious note, how bad (or good) are Gen X compared to the Boomers? I only have two Gen Xs in my life, and they are wildly divergent from each other: one is a copy of the Boomer shitlib, complete with rabid hatred of Donld Trump he manages to insert into every conversation, adoration of anything to do with black people, reddit-tier atheism, and religious consumption of talk show hosts like Colbert, John Oliver, Jon Stewart, etc. The other leans more Republican, is extremely critical of the current welfare state, has openly stated, quote, "Everyone knows the Jews control Hollywood", and supports mass deportations and stricter border control (among other based things).

Anyway, I'm not sure I can draw any conclusions about the generation as compared to Boomers (whom I've had universally negative experiences with) when this is my sample size, so I thought I'd ask the thread.

If people can’t afford much beyond the basics, then they sure as shit can’t afford a weekend to gamble away their nonexistent savings.

Vegas is an ecological disaster in the making. The Colorado River is getting sucked dry. Palm Springs, another wealthy boomer playground, will shrivel up and die within 50 years as well. Total desert but lush green golf courses, dependent entirely on water getting pumped several miles away, from canals that lose 30% of their water due to open air designs. Streets are even named after beloved old fogeys like Bob Hope, Gene Autry, Kike err I mean Kirk Douglas, etc.

Santa Fe is a big one that will be decimated by boomer death. I go out there a lot and in many places I will be the only one under 60 in the entire establishment. Art collection will never appeal to under 50's cuz poor. Maine, lots of New England. Same thing with Santa Fe, you go to these places and it's all old people. As a young person I don't feel welcome in these coastal towns, the oldies will STARE. Affordability makes it impossible for those without 10 million in the bank to buy a house. There's no nightlife, and other nature based states seem to be more under 50 friendly - CO, Utah, California.

Many coastal towns in Florida. Maybe there will be a switch up where they become more youthful, but places like Napels and Palm Beach are absolute old folks homes.

Wine countries anywhere in the USA. I feel like 40 and under don't give a fuck about wine at all. I only ever see old people in the local wineries.

So what will happen? I predict a surge of tourism in mid country places. You're already seeing an increase. Places that are maybe not as striking as Yosemite, but still pretty cool, offer a cheap price and/or lots of young people near by. The Arkansas ozarks, badlands of the western plain states, upper Upper midwest- door county, upper pen MI, upper MN along Lake Superior, Appalachia mountains, maybe even some delta stuff like the cypress lakes.
