American law enforcement officers are racist pigs who get off on abusing People of Color. This incident involving the poor migrant who had been here for 35 years is hardly the first time. For example, take a look at Samuel Little, a proud Black serial killer who killed 90+ women, also for 35 years, between 1970 and 2005. This poor man was arrested in 2012 and died in custody in 2020. He had been doing what he loved for 35 years in this alleged land of opportunity, what right does law enforcement have to suddenly decide that living out his dream is no longer acceptable and arrest him, leading to his death? Thinking of how much joy this man was deprived of by not being able to kill more women makes me want to cry. America truly is a dystopian shithole.

John Carmack is one of those names only the old heads still throw around. His specialty was mostly oriented around building gameplay systems and coding, while Romero was the main "face" of iD. Carmack is an absolute coding wizard and was always unironically pushing the limits. He doesn't get enough credit for writing code that still serves as a legacy backbone for modern games or being one the first person to figure out smooth parallax scrolling on PC that closely matched the performance of dedicated home gaming consoles. So much so that iD made a pitch to Nintendo to make a Mario PC port, but were declined due to Nintendo wanting to keep their games in their own ecosystem. The younger generation can't comprehend a time frame where home entertainment consoles far outpaced the PC in terms of dedicated sound and graphic processing hardware at a comparable price point. He has several college lectures and tech talks floating around YouTube, and the man can talk for hours. Every now and then he'll start speaking in technical terms admittedly above my pay grade, but he does a decent job at conveying the concept in practical terms. He also deadnamed one of his old coworkers who trooned out after he died, so that was pretty based.

This post isn't even remotely related to politics, I just wanted to give my flowers and a drop of glaze to a programmer who started in the dark ages of coding and knows his shit. Even if ever game he's worked on isn't perfect, I'll be damned if it doesn't run well.
