To be fair, BlackGryph0n is at least partially to blame. This video was most likely the catalyst in causing Amazon to get stricter with their ip. Cause Amazon is technically in their rights, and they could have stopped the people employed in making this show from selling fan merchandise way longer before this.
I will say, its kinda weird this video is the catalyst. Since we had vids before, like the one with Charlie or the one with Stolas. You'd think Amazon would jump much earlier. Though, I guess since this video is closer with the animation and having a person who worked on the show itself.

I think it really had to do with a mix of the BlackGryph0n shit and the fact that animation was very similar to the Amazon show's. There was a Lucifer cameo in there too and it wasn't the pilot looking version either. If someone saw this video in the wild with no context on who it was made by, I could definitely see them thinking this is part of the universe for the actual show. Especially since the title of said video says "Offical Music Video".
I think she likes fan creations that follow her own particular mindset. And as like you said, she can't be overshadowed.
