This ignores the immigrants who came here and didn't turn civilization into a shitheap like the previously mentioned Chinese immigrants or the jeets that actually came here for a better non Indian life who are now outnumbered 10:1 by sandeep and his 60 cousins who are just here to leach and bottom feed.
If you want my opinion on immigration as a whole it's that the immigrants we actually want who actually provide back to the countries they immigrated too are already here or aren't the majority of immigrants that come into the country now and we genuinely just need to stop all immigration period and reevaluate everything regarding it.

Honestly they should try finding any centuries old documents that actually say what land belonged to because historically the only land that would be argued as specifically native owned land would be where villages and such were built which are usually where cities today still are and not much else. Even shit like "spiritual land of x peoples/tribe" wasn't used to claim ownership just naming/mapping the local area.

They gave back an island to some tribe that said they occasionally used it as a place for summer homes. So they aren't even required to actually have lived there anymore lmao

We're finally at the point where they're starting to fight with each other because they're making claims over areas that overlap, but because the BC government feels it's "irrelevant" to have an available list of active claims no one actually knows what is or isn't being claimed until it's too late.

They're still mostly seen as unified "indians" currently but there's something like 500 active land claims, so when they're all overlapping each other at least the indian infighting might be amusing...

Don't bother going to the grounds unless you have tickets for an event, though. The midway is a great place to get stabbed, but that's how it has been since the 80s.

That sounds kinda like Klondike Days in Edmonton. It was pretty sketchy and everyone said it was better back in the 80s. They even changed the name because they said the gold rush was outdated and offensive and then changed it to some gay ass name and then changed it to K Days because everyone hated the name but renaming it back to the full name was too scary. Never lived in Edmonton but family would take me when I went to Edmonton in the summer. That was the only other thing to do in Edmonton other than go the the big ass mall

The new company that took over the Stampede midway from Conklin also really sucks. Now the midway is about 6 rides and 4 different food booths copy/pasted all over with retarded prices, like $20 for a roasted turkey drumstick.

My only trips to the grounds after my kid was little and going just so she could see it were the two years Calgary got live AEW shows at the dome, and the overcrowding due to the Stampede board wanting ever-increasing gate numbers without expanding the grounds makes it just Tokyo train at rush hour-level masses of humanity filling all open space.

Already mentioned by others but outside of the rodeo itself any cowboy aspects are pure window dressing now. The cowboy boots and hats for example are what pretentious morons, politicians, and those attending the numerous peripheral corporate parties are donning just because it's a cultural carryover and you want/need to look the part.

Given you've been already you've seen it all since nothing has really changed event/food/crowd-wise. It's ludicrously overpriced, the music on tap is shit, and there's far too many people on the fairgrounds at all times to make it enjoyable. Running meme for the city is the average Calgarian takes vacation when the Stampede is on just to avoid the chaos.

Under a headline that bluntly announces, “Canada Admits Justin Trudeau’s Climate Agenda Was a Scam,” and a lede that asks, “Is it too little, too late for the struggling nation?” Moran analyzes a seventeen-minute YouTube video that Prime Minister Mark Carney published on June 30.

In that video, Carney states that Canada can no longer afford to pursue the lofty “green energy” goals established by his predecessor, Justin Trudeau, which, among other directives, required Canada to cut its “greenhouse gas emissions” by nearly 50% of its 2005 levels by 2030. (For what it’s worth, the U.S. has greatly outperformed its parasitic neighbor up North with regard to emissions reductions, even though being “green” has become a big part of Canadians’ warped self-image.) While Carney makes it clear that he remains a climate cultist at heart, his “fireside chat” with Canadians looks like a “rally ‘round the flag” pep talk meant to encourage his fellow climate-change-communists to bite their tongues for the sake of taking on President Trump.
