📚 Megathread Tranny Sideshows on Social Media - Any small-time spectacle on Reddit, Tumblr, Twitter, Dating Sites, and other social media.

But the second we observe it’s a fetish everyone starts screeching gencoide. 🤷🏻‍♀️
They're open about the fetish aspect amongst themselves. But they don't like the public knowing it's a fetish, because if the public sees it as a fetish (rather than "life-saving care"), then they'll stop allowing them to get off to their fetish in public.
^
But…isn’t it better for them if there aren’t murderers targeting troons?
The same principle applies to lying about muh troonicide epidemic. It's a lie, they know it's a lie, they would like to keep exploiting the lie.

Lying about having a problem when you don't have the problem can be profitable: faking cancer/accidents/disability on the online, faking fake mental illnesses for easier exams, small-time social security scams, pretend feather Indians, etc. The mental illnesses work best because no one can look into them, if you do, you're hecking transphobic or ableist. Of course they don't believe there are murderers of troons running around, they'd detroon if they did.

A young man of only 18 who despised anything relating to women and girls during his childhood has come to the conclusion that his deep-seated misogyny was, in fact, an indicator of latent transsexual emotion. It's worth noting for those of you who aren't gamers that the women he cites as his gender non-conforming inspiration - Samus Aran of Metroid, Aqua and Larxene from Kingdom Hearts, Lightning from Final Fantasy, Hilda from Pokemon and Lara Croft from Tomb Raider - are all incredibly feminine and, more importantly, do not exist; it would seem that real-world examples of more androgynous women have failed to enthrall OP in quite the same way. I find the role models of troons very important to make mention of, especially when they curse at TERFs, because troons rarely feel a compulsion to ape women they're forced to reckon with as human beings - instead, they often wish to mimic either fictional women or women they have fictionalized (see: Britney Spears, Bella Delphine, "the bimbo" archetype, the "big titty goth girlfriend" archetype, etc.). Look, I'm just saying but guys aren't trooning out in droves in order to LARP as women with actual status and influence... though if I ever see a dude skinwalking Hillary Clinton I will be running, not walking, to post him here.

Maybe I ever was a tomboy girl but I hadn't realized until adolescence

As the title says, I'm a tomboy, a butch, a crossdresser, a GNC, whatever, I'm not the mainstream idea of "trans girl". Ever liked masculinity, vibed with the boys and the masc girls, I don't wear makeup, don't wear dresses, I'm gamer, otaku, for years everyone read me as a "normal boy", etc. I hadn't realized until 17-years-old (past year).
However, the more I keep thinking about my childhood, the more I start noticing some things.
First of all, my hate towards femininity. When I had 7-9 years, I hated all femme-coded things. Then, it was seen as just a boy being masc, as ever, you know, the stereotype. With the time I learned to accept it and maybe even have a bit of outsider interest. However, retrospectively, I notice something: it was masking, like if I wanted to prove so hard to be a boy, when masc boys just...don't need to do it, they just are. Here's where I think: what if I was just a boyish girl whose context made her believe she was a boy and had to prove it?
Second, pop culture. During that time, among the few exceptions were tomboys in fiction. You know, the girls who rule, who fight, who are boyish, who "aren't like the other girls". Samus Aran, Aqua and Larxene (Kingdom Hearts), Lightning (Final Fantasy XIII), some Pokémon characters (e.g. Hilda), Lara Croft (reboot and a bit Legend's trilogy, not the OG male gaze), you know. At first it looked like, you know, boy liking masc-coded things designed for boys, but for some reason they were rarely magnetic to me. What if that was recognition? Yeah, there is a historical fetishization of the tomboy, I know, same reason why I wonder that if TERFs discover people like me exist would say we are a "very specific kind of AGP".
An example of that connection is Mirror's Edge. I played both games when I was 13-14, and there was something with Faith...
Third, my family. I grew in a mostly matriarchal, feminist family, men are relevant but we women are the main thing. For that same reason, I ever knew women can be however we want. Still don't know how I lasted so much into applying it to trans ones.
All of these things separately aren't that much, but together...they make a picture. If I met my 8-years-old-me I would tell him: "well...how do I tell you what you're going to discover in 10 years?"
After pooning out, a "single parent by choice" struggles to protect her status as a stealth dood when people ask her as a presumably single dad where the mother of her children went; because she's a self-admitted bad liar, she has a hard time claiming death and divorce as the reasons for her independent parenting and seeks ideas on alternative tales to spin when prompted by strangers. Most advise that OP leave it vague and imply that it's a tender subject while others suggest falling back on surrogacy as an explanation (with one even concocting the story of "Say you used a donor with a surrogate"), but one lone voice of reason stands among the herd, yet remains unheard: "idk why you'd choose to be stealth," writes the one-in-a-million sensible TiF. "especially if you don't have an ironclad lie set up if you're really going to just, idk, do that forever." Why indeed, sister; why, indeed...

How do you navigate meeting/getting to know new friends if you’re stealth/non-disclosing and prefer to stay that way?

I have kids and no spouse. I know my kids get asked where their mom is or what happened to her. It seems like if I start trying to meet people and become friends with them, they’re likely to want to know about my background and have questions about how I have sole custody of my kids (I am a single parent by choice, but obviously don’t want to get into that or that I am the person that carried and bore them). I am not an awesome liar, so divorced or dead might he hard for me to swing, even if they are the most obvious explanations. How do you deal with this?
Hey chuds, this transbian has an important announcement that you all need to take heed of if you don't consider yourselves heckin' transphobes: if you see trannies about to get high or fuck nasty style in public, you're a fascist for tattling on them! If you think OP is just fucking with you, haha, he isn't: in the comments he specifies that reporting actual crimes in progress "contributes for the "most trans women are in for sex related offenses" when it's all like prostitution and public sex charges due to historic discrimination against us" and that it's essentially "sending our sisters to the rape factory", and when a single user dissents against him he states that there's no problem with it because "LGBT people have been doing this for fucking forever." I don't usually see the "appeal to tradition" fallacy deployed to defend drug and sex offenses, but I suppose we do live in very unprecedented times, don't we?

PSA: if you see two trans people go into a bathroom stall or something together to do whatever DO NOT REPORT IT OR TELL ANYONE leave them alone

If you fucking call the cops on them you're evil and should be sent to sent to super hell.

You're going to send them to prison to be raped to death, leave them alone.

Who cares if they're fucking or doing drugs stop being a puritanical asshole
After reading all of that, I'm sure you're now all inclined to agree with this TiM who says that transgender people, on average, are "better" than "most people": "Trans people as a whole are theoretically facing a genocide," he claims - of which that load-bearing "theoretically" did not escape my notice. "Being antagonistic, cringe or annoying on the internet isn't the same as just being evil at this point." But as usual, some users felt that OP didn't go too far enough: "we should be worse. no more taking the high road," says one user darkly, while another thankfully gives OP a reality check and reminds him that "You understand that there are children starving in the streets in cities all across the world, right?" Is nature finally healing, guys? Are we, as the 4tranners say, "GMI" (gonna make it)?

Controversial Opinion: We better than most people

Think about it for a moment. Conservative white dudes, terfs and reactionary individuals weren't cerntered for about a 3 to 5 years. I would considered this to be called the peak woke era. Some of these people may or may faced backlash and felt 1/5th of what any marginalized grouped face and they decided to go full fascist. Some become t*rrorist, predators and etc.
Meanwhile trans people as a whole are theoretically facing a genocide and we're not even acting up as bad as other demographics. Even if you're one of trans people who really hate other trans people then I think it's pretty much a win. Being antagonistic, cringe or annoying on the internet isn't the same as just being evil at this point.
Finally, I present 4 different posts that tackle the trickiest topic in transgenderism: do trannies actually change biologically into the other sex, and do hormones make their bodies operate just like women's? Let's see what the scientists and scholars of Reddit have to say on such a complex, nuanced discussion.

Bone marrow transplant to shift chromosomes

I found this video while surfing Facebook reels and found it interesting. It was talking about transplants shifting a persons chromosomes. I haven’t looked into it any further and have taken its content with a grain of salt but thought it would be an interesting topic for discussion with my fellow MtF friends here.
If toxic governments ever get to the point of chromosomal tests, would it be possible to change our chromosomes through a bone marrow transplant? Seems risky and extreme but it certainly does make me wonder.
I can share the video link if you’re interested, just message me since links aren’t allowed in this subreddit.
[–]eepy_princesss
Even if it did work it wouldn't change anything to your body The y chromosome only determines if you grow testes or not in the womb nothing else all other sexual diphormism is caused by estrogen/testesrone
I don't think OP was saying that it would have any benefit for transitioning: "If toxic governments ever get to the point of chromosomal tests..." was the reason she gave.
It wouldn't work anyway, the prevalence of non-typical karyotypes in the general (cishet) population is too high for chromosomal tests to ever be widely implemented.
Too bad sports forgot that

“Sex change” was a much better name

I’m in the midst of achieving bottom surgery and part of that, in the UK, is obtaining two letters from professionals confirming that you meet the criteria.
While speaking to one of the “professionals”, I was asked how I identify - and I said “female”. She did not like this, going off on a condescending rant about how “female is the term for sex and I must’ve meant woman”. Thankfully, I have a background in biomedical science, so was able to hold my own in countering that nonsense - we change our sex.
Sex is a social construct. It’s based on real, observable biological characteristics - but the decision to group these characteristics into two discrete boxes is entirely sociological, rather than rooted in some holy science.
Biologically, sex is a spectrum and we move further along that spectrum every time we make changes to our body. My hormone profile (which accounts for a huge part of how the body behaves) is more aligned with the female sex, my secondary sex characteristics are more aligned with the female sex, and clearly there’s something going on with my brain that is more aligned with the female sex. Soon, my primary sex characteristics will align with the female sex.
The decision to label me as “biologically male”: based entirely on immutable, unobserved characteristics (like chromosomes) is ideological. It’s worked backwards from the question “how do we define sex in a way that doesn’t include trans people?” and it would change overnight if we invented a surgery that modified chromosomes.

With this in mind, I was shocked to see bottom surgery referred to as “Gender Confirmation Surgery” on this letter. Even more shocked to see that this has been the official term for it for a while now. What does that even mean? I’m not getting this surgery to “confirm” or to “affirm” my gender, I’m doing it to further the process of changing my sex!!
The title is provocative. Of course “sex change” is grossly simplistic and implies that trans people who don’t undergo it aren’t changing their sex in any way. There’s a similar issue with “sex reassignment surgery”. But I’d take the flaws of those over the current status quo, which seems to be a way of manufacturing consent for the idea that we don’t change sex - which is so important for modern day transphobes to pull unscientific “you’re biological males” crap.
[–]Vexoly
Yeah, it's a new way to gatekeep, some are happy to concede that we're "women" but "female" is sacred ground.
Cis people (and trans people that weaponise AFAB/AMAB) are all invested in whatever language lets them distance themselves from trans women. When you point out that it is regularly a thing for cis men, cis women, and non-transfem enbies to all try and exclude trans women (which is fundamentally an expression of transmisogyny) in one way or another , which creates class solidarity between transmisogynists (i.e, transmisogyny-privileged and affected people) , they will try and disingenuously claim that we're just using TMA/TME (or TMP) as a proxy for AMAB/AFAB. It is fascinating, and egregious, and at the same time it is kind of breathtaking how many people fall for the canard.
Exactly this. AMAB/AFAB is so overused and imo, it's woke misgendering
I was assigned male at birth. Was. Not is, was. I am certainly not a foot tall anymore either
So tired of the “assigned” language, it’s just a slightly more woke version of the “male-socialization” BS.
I was assigned an infant, do I look like an infant now? I was also medically identified as having an umbilical cord at birth, but it’s been quite a while since that was relevant either.
Damn, you put it so perfectly. Yes, this exactly. I didn’t change my gender yall, my gender has been female since the day I was born.
I changed my SEX. And guess what? I am biologically female now.
Like, my body is clearly more woman than man. Practically every cell in my body is female. Like, if I’m not a “biological” woman then what the fuck am I? Mechanical? Lmfao

[–]GenesForLife
Your designation as female is perfectly accurate. The medical consensus is to consider trans women as a type of female human , see for instance
The provision of hormone therapy, both estrogens and antiandrogens, to adult transgender females is well within the scope of practice of the obstetrician gynecologist. The goal is to induce feminizing changes and suppress previously developed masculinization. Estrogens in sufficient doses will usually achieve both goals with augmentation by antiandrogens. The primary short-term risk of estrogens is thrombosis, but long-term risk in transgender females is unclear. Optimal care requires pretreatment education and assessment, individualized dosing, ongoing routine monitoring, and standard breast and prostate cancer screening.

Chromosomes aren't even immutable. About 40% of men age 50 lose their Y chromosome. You don't see anyone arguing they aren't men anymore.

[–]ThinAndFeminine
The decision to label me as “biologically male”: based entirely on immutable, unobserved characteristics (like chromosomes) is ideological. It’s worked backwards from the question “how do we define sex in a way that doesn’t include trans people?” and it would change overnight if we invented a surgery that modified chromosomes.
100 %. And these people get giga mad when you point out that their proclaimed "it's just scientific facts" BS arguments are purely ideology based and they don't understand shit about science in general or biology in particular.

[–]Blaumagier
My hot take is that I agree that sex change is the better name for vaginoplasty and phalloplasty for trans women and trans men. If it were still that, then the argument that "sex as a protected class doesn't apply to gender" wouldn't have a leg to stand on to blanket ban trans people from aspects of society.
But alas, I think the name was changed for inclusivity reasons? I'm not sure really. I don't want people in the community to feel othered or excluded by our own language but it does feel like we lost a significant utility with this one.
Edit: Upon further thought, I believe it was changed because trans people being recognized as trans was being gatekept behind bottom surgery, among other aspects such as being straight.

[–]bbeony540
Yeah. And transsexual feels more accurate to my situation than transgender. I dont know where my personality stops and my gender begins. I align more with the feminine cluster of personality traits, but that feels incidental. When I came out, I didn't change anything about my personality. I'm the exact same nerd I was before. I let out some parts of myself I had been suppressing and stopped trying to perform masculinity in ways that felt inauthentic, but I was always the person I am now. There are still plenty of aspects to who I am that fall under the masculine cluster. They don't feel wrong. They're part of who I am.
What is wrong is my body.
Thats always been my issue. I see my body and it is not correct. I take medications and get surgeries to fix my body. I do the same thing with my crohns disease. Theres something physical going on that gives me trouble so I seek medical care about it.

[–]faey88
I like the "If we invented a surgery to change chromosomes".
People are saying "uterus havers" and whatnot recently and you know one day that won't be a good way to gatekeep anymore.

Is that really gatekeeping or is it just the most effective way to talk about people who have a uterus without excluding people who do or including people who don't

My mother claims MTF people can’t get cramps coz cramps are from the uterus contracting, so I wanted to ask for other people’s thoughts

Also was wondering coz I have a disease that caused me to get cramps anyway, so I’m wondering if hrt might end up with me getting more 😭
[–]meeowth
The chemical signal that causes the uterus to contract can act on all smooth muscle, not just the uterus, for example intestinal walls. This is broadly considered the basis for why some people without a uterus (including people post-hysterectomy) can sometimes still feel period cramps.
It should be noted that not all cis women experience period cramps the same way or even very much at all, which also can explain some of the variability in how/if someone on transfem HRT experiences it (in addition to things like how their regime levels vary over time based on the delivery method, and the fact that taking HRT/birth control can stop or ease period symptoms in pre-menopause cis women after all)
But there isnt any research or anything directly confirming that this is what happens. There's barely any research into proper treatment of cis women with debilitating periods in the first place

[–]MothashipQ
It's not just the uterus that cramps, even in cis women. At least one of the hormones primarily responsible for them, progesterone, is commonly included in HRT. No, we don't have uteruses to cramp, but we have intestines and abdominal walls that can still respond to these hormones, not to mention other muscles that are less commonly affected like leg muscles (something I've heard of from both cis and trans women). Everyone experiences hormone cycles, even men, and trans women on HRT have a lot of switches "flipped." I don't think it's a crazy idea. That's also not taking into account trans women who are intersex and do have a uterus.
Personally, I don't really care what other people think of it or if it's technically not menstruation. Period products and tips for mitigating/anticipating period symptoms have been very effective at dealing with various struggles that I seem to deal with throughout the month. The terminology doesn't really matter to me.
Edit: wording

[–]GenesForLife
The prostaglandins that set off smooth muscle cramping are not uterus specific.
Also note that endometriosis has been reported even in cis men following high estrogen-signalling stimulation,

[–]ExistentialOcto
Incorrect ❌
Hormones released during periods cause the abdominal muscles to contract, not the uterus. The uterus is not a muscle and therefore cannot contract.
Also, my girlfriend gets cramps. Thankfully I don’t (I get the emotional symptoms) but she does!

[–]Ciggdre
I don’t know any of the science behind it, but I’ve definitely had very bad cramping episodes before. You don’t need a uterus to have them. They mostly happened when I was on pills b/c I was very hit or miss on remembering to take my pills on time. Since switching to injections they really haven’t been an issue.

The BIG question: Am I still a boy according to biology in science?

To be specific, I have not asked this to purposely trigger transgender people. I am a MTF myself, my wording may not be correct as English isn't really my type.
There have been some debates around the Internet, whenever trans people are still their biological gender even when they transitioned.
Some don't mind about the biological debate thing, but for me it is quite upsetting and dysphoric.

My head is currently spinning and I am seriously lost, as I said I don't want to trigger anyone. I am not properly educated about this, and may need to see a therapist and talk about this topic.
[–]StrawberryEggz
Hrt quite litteraly alters your biology

How specifically? Im no scientist and nobody told me.
You get shorter, your feet shrink. Your tendon elasticity changes. Your muscles change structure. Your skin gets softer and more smooth. Your hair changes. Your eyes change and more often eye sight gets worse for those of us who already wear glasses. Uhmmmmm Your body fat moves to places to mimic that of cis women, like hips, central stomach, cheeks and under the chin, thighs and butt. Your nails change. Like, quite literally, other then whats between your legs, you're a female... oh I forgot boobies too. Lol

My eyesights gonna get worse? Damn TwT

It gives you better perception of color too tho
Don't forget that your crotch starts smelling like vag
Yup! My cis missus wasn't sure if my smell was from her, or from another woman. Needless to say it's almost caused us to break up... until she realized it was me.
Vaginas do not have a distinct or strong smell. If they do then that woman’s PH balance is off and needs to go to a gyno. I can never ‘smell’ my vagina.
You're wrong... Respectfully, of course.
I'm a 46YO, polyamerous, lesbian slut. I've been face-deep in more vulvas than you've had holidays. I've even been gifted a few "first times", and I can 100% assure you... They have a smell.
I will also stress that they didn't smell BAD. They just had a distinct smell.

100% of this happened to me. But you seem to forgotten the periods as well. Yes it is now known that trans women get periods. Of course we don't have menstrual flow, because we don't have the anatomy for it, but we do get everything else. I even have it in my medical file that I have PMDD.
So... As someone who has gone through every single one of these changes... does anyone have any questions for me?
[–]Evangelia_Sarafh -5 points 5 days ago
It's impossible to get periods as an mtf person.
Period is when the ovum falls in the form of hemorrhage when it doesn't get fertilized by a spermatozoon. So to have a period you need to have ovaries which produce the ovums pretty much. This is a simplified version of course.
I'll take "Tell me you don't know what a period is, without telling me you don't know what a period is." for 100 points.
It’s not a period where you bleed every month, just the hormones fluctuating in a monthlong cycle that can cause some cramping in the intestines. Everyone has the hormones that cause a menstrual cycle, and they can still cause some light symptoms in people without a uterus because of the rise and fall of hormones like LH and FSH and a sudden drop in natural estrogen and testosterone at the end of the month. So while many don’t feel cramping, lots of trans women still experience a cycle that can leave them feeling stronger, fatigued, emotional, happy, etc at different times according to that *period* of time
Trans women on HRT don’t actually have fluctuating LH and FSH. Levels are consistently low. The reason why is because LH and FSH in people with testicles triggers sperm and testosterone production so when trans women go on feminising HRT their pituitary gland is suppressed from producing it to counter sperm and T production. I believe the only exception is trans women who’ve had a bilateral orchiectomy.
Woman who have had overies removed or a hysterectomy still get a period they just dont bleed or release an egg. All the other symptoms are there. If you have the hormones you have the cycle.Plus there are more to a cycle then just menziees there are the other 3 phases of a cycle too. Like tbh can we talk about how vivacious, horny and wet ovulation week is like :3!!
Also the soft tissue around the stomach also causes period poops.

HRT alters the properties of your biochemistry, and as such, the behaviour of the human body; A transfeminine person has “female” body fluids, muscles, bones, vital organs, hair, eyes, etc.
Even if they still have the genetics and sex organs of someone Assigned Male at Birth, HRT makes those genetics and organs act the way they would if a biological female had them. If a trans woman has testicles and a penis, those organs would simply behave the way they would if a biological woman naturally had them, because as far as the body’s signalling systems are concerned, a biological woman does have them. Likewise, a trans woman who doesn’t have ovaries or a uterus would have their body simply act like the body of a biological woman who doesn’t have ovaries or a uterus, because; again, as far as the body’s signalling systems are concerned; they are a biological woman who, for whatever reason, doesn’t have ovaries or a uterus.
If a transfem still has a “masculine skeletal structure” due to only starting HRT in adulthood, that’s because their body experienced masculine puberty before HRT shut that down and made the body start experiencing feminine puberty instead. This isn’t because puberty is a deciding factor in biological sex, it’s because puberty is an additive process in the body; it doesn’t “remove things”, the closest it gets to “getting rid of stuff” is rearranging things or changing the body’s priorities.
It’s like how people with gigantism don’t suddenly shrink down to a more average height once whatever’s wrong with their pituitary gland is fixed, they just stop getting taller; the thing being impacted isn’t the structures of the body, it’s the processes in the body that decide those structures.

It introduces multiple intersex/DSD conditions into your body such that you become phenotypically of the new sex. Your chromosomes, as of now, are unchanging. But your outward markers for sex such as far distribution, height/weight, hair, and so on do change.
"Boy" isn't a biological thing, that's a gender. "Male" is more accurate but even that can be shady and it very much depends on the specific field of science you're looking into, even the different branches of biology.
WARNING: Massive oversimplifications ahead. But not even that much. I am not a medical professional but after reading papers and talking with many for years, this is what I have concluded is the simplest way to describe the extremely complex "biological sex on hrt" topic.
To simplify it A LOT, after the first few months of fetal development, there's very little the Y chromosome actually does. The vast majority of the body's functions and cell encoding is in the X chromosome (otherwise women wouldn't survive) and the other non-sexual chromosomes of the body.
Most of the Y chromosome code is two things:
  1. the SRY gene, which during the fetal phase tells the otherwise neutral/feminine cells to go "nuh uh", kickstarting the reaction the other way, causing the production of testosterone, which finishes the job of turning the fetus male. Note that, again, the instructions for either development are still in the X chromosome. The SRY gene just kickstarts the factory the other way.
  2. very few extra instructions, which do have a few uses well into adulthood but for the most part the only major thing is regulating the production of sperm (for which a good chunk of the instructions is still in the X chromosome either way).
Both of these functions are irrelevant to the way the body does things, as that is regulated mainly by which of the two hormones you have in abundance and which in lower amounts. HRT alters exactly that, the body simply goes "ight bet" and does that instead. Estrogen is not some magical boob-growing juice, it's just telling the body "hey this is a woman's body now" (the same way a cis woman's estrogen would to her body) and the cells just begin to use the different instructions encoded in, again, the same exact X chromosome.
Similarly testosterone is not some magical beard-growing juice, it tells the body "this is a man's body" and the body acts accordingly, which is also why despite some of the instructions for male sexual differentiation are in the Y chromosome, trans men can still see some minor levels of bottom growth (cause again, some of the instructions are still in the X chromosome!).
Obviously, the body can only do so much, because you already developed a specific set of sexual organs all the way back when the SRY gene kickstarted the fetus one way (or the other if the SRY gene was absent), and it kinda has to fight the organs it has (which is why HRT is forever), but outside of that it really does just straight up do the exact same things a cis person's body would.
It's why "should we still use the terms biological male/female in medical contexts" is even a question to begin with, in recent years, cause when you've been on HRT - either type really - for so long, most medical aspects become nigh identical to a cis person with those same hormones, because the body has aligned that way, and the only real "your medical amab" things are almost entirely relegated to genitalia and reproduction.

So, TL;DR "boy" isn't a biological term, "male" is, and even that depends on how you define "male" biologically. This definition, and the definition of "biological sex" in general, shifts not only between branches of science, biology, medicine etc. etc., but also between people. But there's plenty of research that seems to show that after long enough on HRT, whatever biological measurement you're trying to measure aligns with the hormones, reaching pretty much the same level as a cis person with the same hormones.

[–]Andra_Ingensbarn
I have a PhD and am a high school science teacher. “Biological gender” doesn’t have a definition in science. Biological sex is a whole lot more complicated than we teach in compulsory education anywhere in the world. Hormones affect how we think, feel, act, and look. All sorts of overlapping factors affect your hormones and how your body reacts to them. Humans have tried to force a binary label onto what is really a matrix of interacting factors.
You are what you say you are.

I wish i could get the people in my life to understand that hormones are that important. I’m intersex “AFAB”, technically labeled as female but I have several small deviations and my hormones have much higher androgen levels. I’ve always thought and felt and acted like a guy, much to the annoyance of my family for not picking up in the subtleties of womanhood, but when I got rested and told them that they don’t really understand 😭 and definitely don’t understand why I’d want to try and transition to look more like a man too. They don’t think hormones are significant enough as if I was born with more obvious physical differences.

[–]Olivia_Johanna
The deciding factor for phenotypic development is what hormones are present during prenatal development. If there's no testosterone present for fetuses with an XY Chromosome Pair, they are going to develop a female phenotype, aka primary sexual characteristics. Likewise for fetuses with an XX Chromosome pair developing a male phenotype if there is testosterone present. Both of these can happen with gene defects. The one gene "deciding" what phenotype you'll get is one commonly found on the XY Chromosome that causes your reproductive organs to produce small gametrs, aka sperm, and testosterone instead of large gametes, aka egg cells, and estrogen. Everything* else is a result of hormones. There is almost no information on the Y chromosome that isn't on the X chromosome. (iirc it does contain some genes important for sperm function, but that only affects fertility)
Secondary sexual characteristics don't develop until puberty, which is, as well, decided by the hormones in your body. A plethora of bodily functions change depending on the sexual hormone predominant, even late after puberty. Fat distribution, metabolism, skin softness...
Where do you draw the line? What's a boy, what's a girl, in that light? Someone with XY/XX chromosomes? Someone with male/female reproductive organs? Someone who has undergone male/female puberty? I'm using male/female in terms of sex here - gender identity not even taken into account.
In my opinion, a hormone replacement therapy changes your biological sex. Obviously it's going to make you infertile (most of the time) , it's not going to change your chromosomes or the way your primary sexual characteristics have grown, nor is it going to reverse what the opposing hormone has made in permanent changes.
But for most intents and purposes, your body functions like that of the sex your hormones are from, albeit "abnormally".
I am no expert on this! There is unfortunately no easy answer here, advanced biology is a little more complicated than basic biology.

Sex is a polythetic category characterized by a collection of traits.
It's not defined solely by your chromosomes because not everyone assigned male at birth has XY chromosomes and not everyone assigned female at birth has XX chromosomes.
It's not defined solely by your ability to produce gametes because some people can't produce gametes.
It's not defined solely by your hormones because some people assigned male at birth are naturally low in testosterone and some people assigned female at birth are naturally high in testosterone.
It's not defined solely by your genitalia because some people have ambiguous genitalia.
Sex is a constellation of these traits.
If you are on HRT for long enough, you are hormonally and medically female. It also gives you female secondary sex traits.
If you get bottom surgery, then your genitalia are female.
This is all to say that yes, trans women can be female.

Hot take, I believe that transgender people are actually intersex. We know the brain anatomy is more similar to their gender, and brain anatomy is biology and it's a variation in sex characteristics, so intersex. By biological classification your body fits more into female than male. The sex is more than just genitals.

I agree with you! There's mounting evidence to support a genetic cause.
The issue I have with this take is it’s getting dangerously close to bioessentialism, especially with the point on brain anatomy. By making the claim that there is a female brain and a male brain, it leaves a huge grey area for nonbinary people and other intersex people.
We can’t stop explaining to uninformed people there’s a biological cause just because cis people MIGHT discriminate against nonbinary people. Let’s get the general population onside with the science first and then ensure nobody under the trans umbrella is discriminated against, including nonbinary and gender fluid folks.
There’s no good evidence of differences between men’s brains and women’s brains though, my point is that using unsupported evidence like that perpetuates the sex/gender binary, which is not a good thing.
Also, I’m not saying this because cis people might discriminate against nonbinary people, I’m saying cis people and binary trans people are promoting falsehoods that hurt nonbinary and intersex people.
I do not support the idea of sex as a binary and I don't think original my statement implied that. To say there is no good evidence of differences between male brains and female brains is inaccurate. The differences are few but they do exist. I believe sex is a bimodal spectrum, with male and female being the two extremes, and I believe that while most people generally fall near one or the other, almost no one is 100% male or female by every biological measure. There are biological factors behind being trans, cause everything that happens in the brain and body is biological including thoughts and feelings and your perception of self. Claiming all trans people are intersex doesn't harm non-binary and intersex people. It doesn't imply that they are any less not male, female, man, or woman. I'm simply saying that transgender people also don't fit within the sex binary and I believe that time will prove that theory correct
There seems to be a "trans brain" that has it's own quirks as well. Improved spatial reasoning and synesthesia are very common.

  • Sex is not a single variable. It's a cluster of characteristics: chromosomes, gonads, hormone levels, secondary sex characteristics, internal reproductive anatomy, and external genitalia. These don't always align even in people who've never taken any medical intervention (as intersex variations show).
  • Hormones: Yes, definitively changed. Hormone levels are a biological parameter, and HRT shifts them substantially, often into the typical range of the target gender.
  • Secondary sex characteristics: Yes, changed, fat redistribution, breast development or reduction, body/facial hair, skin texture, .... These are biological traits.
  • External genitalia: Can be changed surgically and the results are functionally and anatomically sophisticated.
  • Plasma proteome adaptations during feminizing gender-affirming hormone therapy, blood changes brought on via HRT - https://www.nature.com/articles/s41591-025-04023-9
If you medically transition, you change primary and secondary sexual characteristics. Sex is a bimodal distribution model. You might have leaned more "male" before medical transitioning, but as soon as you grow literal boobs, it should be obvious that you are no longer leaning more "male", but more "female".

I’m a trans woman. At this point in my transition, I have female primary and secondary sex characteristics. That means that biologically, my phenotype is female. When I do a blood test, my hormone levels are within normal ranges for cis gendered women. So biologically, I’m female from an endocrine perspective as well. What about genotype? 🤷‍♀️ I’ve never had my chromosomes tested, but there are plenty of examples of cis men with xx chromosomes and cis women with xy. So chromosomes, while immutable, are not really that definitive of an indicator for biological sex. So yes, transition does change your biology to align more closely with your gender identity.

i don't see why it matters. it's not even relevant medically, whether i'm considered biologically male or biologically female, i'm going to tell any doctors for whom the information is relevant that i'm trans; since i transitioned, my biology doesn't match that of a cisgender man nor a cisgender woman completely. quite honestly i think boiling my body down to strictly "biological male" or "biological female" is not helpful, it is neither.
what is relevant is gender; what someone tells you they are, what they want to be called, and how they express that gender. and in that respect i'm a demigirl.

sorry if i Trigger you with this. I dont mean to.
First of all, yes. They Problem is, you can really Change biology. Your Bones and DNA cant BE Changed. Thats a Problem for many trans People.
But second, you DNA dont really Matter. Sure, a "Male" Body have x and y chromosomes. But some cis female Bodys also have a XY Duo where the y chromosome never got activated in the process of creating AS a Baby. So the chromosome Part IS a stupid Thing.
So, in the end its Just the Bones Part and that transfems cant give Birth at the Moment or Transmasc dont get fems pregnant are the Problems, but can Change in the future. (With Bones i mean you have a mascular or feminine bone structure which cant Change at the Moment.)
But Look how far WE came.HRT, surgery, laser,...
This Last Problem will also but Just a little Cat jump and will Change Out Life.

And the difference, of course, is that decades ago, before social media, hookup apps, etc., it was extremely difficult for gay men and women to hook up, so I would have had no trouble cutting them some slack, so long as they at least tried to be circumspect about it.

Trannies lack that excuse. They can go semen-starch each other's programmer socks in the privacy of their goon-caves, and stop making every day for everyone else a terrible day to have eyes.

Actually one issue I have always had with fags is cruising and they've been doing that for decades. When I was a kid there was a huge park near my house play area, trails, pool the whole works and as a city kid that's a treat. Do want to know how often I went there growing up the answer is never and why because it was public knowledge homos used it for cruising. Me and my friends didn't want to be on the trails or something and come across two dudes going at it. So I cut gays no slack.

Fair enough. If I'd had your experience, I'd feel the same as do you. And there is certainly no excuse whatsoever anymore for those kinds of public hook-ups ー it's caused by either such unrestrained rutting that they cannot take even a moment to find some privacy, or ー more likely, no less ー there is an exhibitionist thrill for them.

Either way: keep that off the streets and parks and stop frightening the horses children.

roll under the fridge
Don't you just hate it when that happens? My Y chromosome once fell off and rolled under there, and after I'd finally fished it back out with a coat hanger, it was covered in dust bunnies and what appeared to be a half-eaten breath mint.

I’m sorry, what? Does it just fall off and get lost in the sofa cushions or roll under the fridge? I hope the dog doesn’t eat it.
This is a real thing that is found in elderly men. One theory is that the Y chromosome, being so small and weird compared to other chromosomes, is more vulnerable to errors during cell division. It's one of the few chromosomes that can be removed from a cell without the cell completely dying, so you see cells with missing Y's crop up over time.

What these chucklefucks conveniently forget to mention in their triumphant gotcha one-liners is that 1) it's usually just found in some blood cells, not the whole body, and 2) missing Y is linked to short life expectancy, cancer, and Alzheimer's. In younger males, it's associated with infertility and developmental disorders.

Hey chuds, this transbian has an important announcement that you all need to take heed of if you don't consider yourselves heckin' transphobes: if you see trannies about to get high or fuck nasty style in public, you're a fascist for tattling on them! If you think OP is just fucking with you, haha, he isn't: in the comments he specifies that reporting actual crimes in progress "contributes for the "most trans women are in for sex related offenses" when it's all like prostitution and public sex charges due to historic discrimination against us" and that it's essentially "sending our sisters to the rape factory", and when a single user dissents against him he states that there's no problem with it because "LGBT people have been doing this for fucking forever." I don't usually see the "appeal to tradition" fallacy deployed to defend drug and sex offenses, but I suppose we do live in very unprecedented times, don't we?
nothing says women in love like two dudes sucking each others dicks in a public bathroom stall.

i assume of course this will be taking place in a women's bathroom as well, which adds a whole other level of deviancy to this. i can't believe ladies aren't comfortable letting these porn sick lunatic freaks heckin' valid transbians into their bathrooms

There’s this YouTuber named Cam&Fam who got famous for being a teen mom and exploiting her two children with her husband. She was from the genre of YouTuber known as “Teen mom from rich family makes teen motherhood look easy”. In 2020, her husband committed suicide, leaving her a single mother.

In 2024, she came out as trans and went on hormones and had top surgery. She is now in a polyamorous relationship with a bunch of other trans and kweer people, who are living with her daughters.

I'm just saying but guys aren't trooning out in droves in order to LARP as women with actual status and influence... though if I ever see a dude skinwalking Hillary Clinton I will be running, not walking, to post him here.
Let me introduce you to Zach Antolak, aka "Zinnia Jones", who cosplayed as Elizabeth Holmes.

Oh in this picture Zach is holding a bottle of popper, i.e. anal circumference dilator.

About 40% of men age 50 lose their Y chromosome.
And the source is... your stinkditch?
I dont know where my personality stops and my gender begins
At least he is honest.

Some people think she’s skinwalking the dead husband. She was also sexually assaulted while underage, so I’m sure she is terminally traumatized.

Incorrect ❌
Hormones released during periods cause the abdominal muscles to contract, not the uterus. The uterus is not a muscle and therefore cannot contract.

In the labyrinth of nonsensical science that is tranny reddit, I'm just picking out this one diamond.

Have you ever heard of "contractions" when a woman is in labour? Y'know, those things that make childbirth famously painful? (Fun fact: Its not pushing the baby out that's the bad bit (that's actually pretty quick), its all the pesky contractions for like, 20 hours beforehand). Well guess what! *drumroll*....they're UTERINE contractions.

The Myometrium is the muscle layer of the uterus, and yes, it is also the thing that contracts to expel period blood and cause cramps.
I don't want to understate how dumb trannies are, but you have to think they're also maliciously lying at this point
