DSP, however, completely twists the truth in his dumb video
It’s so funny that when everybody is talking about GTA VI and there are tons of genuine criticisms he could be making about it, he’s stuck on this bullshit subscription thing because he 1) forgets subscriptions and 2) knows his business operates on a similar model because Jayde has been a member for more than a year and probably doesn’t even know what that means

One could argue that he's doing it purely for the clicks, but I'm pretty sure he truly just doesn't understand the situation and/or just sticks with his very first opinion after not reading the conditions thoroughly, thinking people calling him out are just "detractors", doing it for the sake of detracting.
Phil is doing this for clicks. There's no way he doesn't realize that they can't automatically bill you just by buying the game.

What's insane is that Phil will then cry that everyone says he's stupid 5 minutes later.

Yes. Phil will never admit to a lie unless he is literally caught on camera (see the Jasper/WWE Champions daily wrap as an example). He will always fall back on the everything being "circumstantial evidence," which he equates to not being evidence at all, so in his mind, every lie he tells has to be accepted as true.
This is the thing that baffles me as a relatively normal human. I know that behavior isn't unique to DSP by any means, but I'll never be able to wrap my head around it. It'd be sweet to just flip a switch in your brain that shuts off remembering that retarded thing you did that everyone saw, but the switch being able to convince yourself that 'No, you weren't retarded! And actually, you're just that much more smart than everyone else!' is something else.

A little late here, but I had a thought upon watching some of the terrible highlights of Phil playing Starfox. He claims he loved the game, he claims to be the "King of Retro," but is it possible that Phil didn't really have much in the way of game systems or games when he was growing up. I'm beginning to suspect that most of his retro video game interactions were 2 day rentals, or just playing at a friend's house. I don't think he had all the newest and greatest consoles. If Starfox was a favorite of his on SNES then he wouldn't be complaining about its repetition, that was the game. He might have played it for a few hours on a 2 day rental so he wasn't aware of how the game actually is. All his fond retro memories are just the popular takes you can find on the Internet.

He complains that FF7 was suddenly all sci-fi, and not swords and sorcery fantasy. The truth is that even from FF1 there's always been technological elements. FF1 probably has the least technology with only the secret super boss Warmech, but every FF game has had an element.

Good food for thought but it doesn't hold up to Ackham's razor since Phil never had friends to play games on any regular basis with as a kid. It's been a minute since I saw the Icebergs but I believe he had basically every console under the sun, including peripherals. This nigger had the WHOLE rockband set and never used it.
Also you have to keep in mind that he's so retarded he failed a personality test by not writing down his answers after he was told to, even opening his notes app to do so.

Can't wait for the rematch

He has Youtube premium on that account. So there is your reason.
Forgive my ignorance but how does that correlate to commenting on a channel? I have premium and don't see any other benefit to commenting than when I didn't.

Fuck. Have we been missing another Phail documentary for 2 years?

Views with Premium give channels extra money on top of the usual ad revenue, it's one of the reasons he shills Premium so much (and uses DSPReacts to pocket watch his boyfriends)
Basically he's using Premium to give himself money on top of giving the extra view

I do not believe giving himself views is the reason, he has said before that he does everything on his YT Premium style account because it doesn't get ads.

This is because he is too much of a fucking retard to use an adblocker like 99%+ of the rest of the human style race

He probably has not played 1 + 2 (you are right that 1 is the lowest tech and 2 is a contender for next-lowest tech - the enemy having a tech advantage is a plot point early on in 2, but the heroes' solution is to destroy it and once they succeed it is about as low-tech as 1) at all: The GBA and PS1 remakes for those came out in the middle of his attempt to become an FGC big shot; he was writing for some gaming site when the GBA remakes came out and admitted to not playing them in an article where he named them as one of his games of the year.

The only way he could get it into his head that FF is not high tech would be if his first exposure to the older games came from playing 3 (about as low-tech as 2, much lower tech than 4-6) in 2013 . . . which if true proves he's a poser who never cared about the franchise until he could get paid for it.
