I actually can attest to this. I have seen at least one young man at work turn to the orthodox Church.

It's the same reason why orthodox synagogues are filling with younger members. They (aka the newer generations) yern for the sense of community if anything (which comes from religion but it's all tied together).
Many of the forms that don't love faggotry have seen some resurgence in interest from what I've seen. I wouldn't be too picky with throwing exact titles on denomination there. I was surprised/happy seeing even more modernized/contemporary churches actually acknowledging OT moral law and not just conveniently ignoring it (i.e. homo butt sex is bad...) (in addition to teaching the NT of course as it is a Christian crowd). That is all said recognizing many of these groups started as relatively small crowds, so relatively small things growing even rapidly may still result in small things big picture wise. But maybe that alludes to the "great awakening" you mentioned.
I'd say its popularity is waning with the aging of its biggest group of adherents. Dispensationalism and its related ideas are usually associated with Reagon era televangelists (understandably), but iirc it really started around the 1840s. It's still popular in the right crowd (or maybe I should say TV channel lol), but I can't see how it isn't dropping in popularity overall. I loosely know a few people in that crowd.
