Yeah, this issue pretty much started in 1999. I saw an article a couple weeks ago saying people in Venezuela only make about $35 a week and going out to eat is insane, like $120 for a burger. I've seen a couple wannabe commies try to dismiss the situation saying things like, "Oh no, people's money is being taken away from them to help feed poor people!" There's even a #HandsOffVenezuela hashtag full of out of their mind ANTIFAgs.

It's funny to see the reaction to this happening. Earlier I saw two Tankies say that the election was fair and THIS IS ALL THE CIA'S FAULT! using Venezuelan State-run media as evidence and then a Venezuelan came and said "lol no" and talked about how Venezuela was pretty much like if the USSR was run by the mafia as they did nothing when in power but strip the land of any resource the nation had for their own wallets and that if the CIA was paying anyone they would've taken the money and left the country and disproved the whole CIA narrative and that if there's any CIA involvement only an absurdly small amount of people are in on it. One of the Tankies then said this Venezuelan was wrong using State-run media as evidence which caused the Venezuelan commence laughing.

It's not reeeeeel Socialism but Maduro did nuffin wrong, he's a good boy don't abandon him as the CIA sends right wing thug agents to destabilize the country and stop the very democratic comrade Maduro from turning it into a flourishing super egalitarian socialist utopia in a last ditch attempt to save evil Capitalism from being on its last legs.

Well if this were made by more aware people, I would imagine this could be excellent dark satire, but this is a real thing i guess. I am honestly baffled that Amnesty International can be this oblivious to the corruption, repression, and the ever growing danger that Venezuela is facing. It is truly sad times when supposed esteemed organizations are more in the dark than the average joe.

Wrong, the minimum wage is 21 bucks a month, 35 is if you were using the official rate but that thing is next to impossible to get, and worst it's divided between 8 bucks in cash and 12 in cestatickets that is something like your food stamps, the rate is based in the black market rate that you can see here
