I doubt he'll jump on the MTG marvel bandwagon, he's too deep into pokemon cards and Phil is the sort of guy with that tribal mentality that makes him hostile towards anything that is foreign.
If he does get into MTG, that would be funny seeing him pull a $15 card to then realise one week later it being $2 or the opposite (him shitting on a card that then would take value).
If you're unfamiliar with MTG, card value is highly affected by playability on top of the rarity, so usually the market price of cards in a set are highly inflated during the pre-release period. (that is if he buys a scalped pre-release set, no way he goes out to a sealed event).
Collecting MTG cards without playing the game is extremely retarded anyway.
I do wonder sometimes how much of his helplessness he’s just faking during something like a Pokémon stream. Don’t get me wrong, Phil is obviously one of the most incurious, low-IQ simpletons on the Internet, but I think he’s clued onto the fact the lonely tards in his audience really respond to handholding him through things they like and giving them a chance to feel smart and helpful. Pretending he doesn’t know a single goddamn thing about Pokémon games, even though when you’ve played one you should really be able to remember all the series’ basic tenets, is a great way to bait handholding donations and engagement in his otherwise dead chat.
It might not even be conscious on Phil’s part. He’s like an idiot savant when it comes to mental midget wrangling at this point. On some level he just instinctively knows how to telegraph exactly the right amount of distress, or disappointment, or anger, to press the buttons of mentally unstable incels with nice juicy SSI checks waiting to be harvested.
He's kinda admitted this before. Phil has said that the constant "Uh, whuh do I do nao?" is what makes his streams "interactive". Pretty sure this was a cope he came up with for needing handholding and constantly stalling games, but at least some of the helplessness is intentional.
I think it's funny overall he's in the negative on opening the packs like I see my degen case openers on CS2 gamble.
Wouldn't he technically be in profit from this retarded grift because he's not buying these to open for free? Originally he was charging $50 in one donation to open a pack, (36- 8 or so free packs) 28 x 50 = 1400 x 2 = 2800 - 967 from the price of the 2 boxes he's opened on stream = $1833. My math is going going off of him getting $50 specifically to open cards
Now that goals are cumulative there's going to be a bigger skew in how profitable this will be overall since he'll have to buy the boxes and it's not a $50 for 1 pack deal anymore and more of just a goal for each $50.
You have to factor in the average he made before doing pack openings and compare them to the average now.
The box he opened off stream should also be included since he wouldn't have bought that if he hadn't gotten into this TCG addiction. Youtube also takes a cut out of every superchat, so there is less money there aswell.
So the profit from these boxes are very small, if any.
His average probably haven't shifted all that much since he always gets an influx when he introduces a new gimmick, but it just means that the dents waste their SS checks much quicker rather than him having a bunch of new supporters.
He is not spending money to earn more money, he is spending money to get money faster.
I kind of envy Phil for being able to get that same dopamine rush from cards that we had as kids. I remember the feeling of spending my allowance on some bullshit trading cards, then opening the pack. It just hit different. The smell of new cards, the suspense at seeing if anything good was in there. Really drives home how low IQ he is.
Katherine should really step up as his mom-wife because he's not capable of taking care of himself. Dude would be in heaven if she picked his clothes, fed him three square a day and gave him some pokeymans sometimes if he behaved.
I cannot believe he's threatening to wagequit Pokemon on DAY ONE when he is over 100 dollars in contributions. The well over a thousand dollars he's sunk into Pokemon cards (that we know of) must really be lighting a fire under his ass.
The children's music in the background while he emotionally manipulates his audience of retards is a nice touch.
I can't wait until he runs out of games to wagequit or he runs out of money to buy new games. People might not believe that it could happen but it's inevitable.

If Phil had any self-awareness AT ALL, he'd save himself so much grief. He not only walks into a lot of these situations where he looks retarded, he creates them out of nothing because he just HAS to be the smart one even though his own words show that he's not.
Pretty funny that after a lifetime of playing Pokémon, DSP still struggles with types, names, what moves do etc but basically overnight is an expert on the money grifting side of Pokémon card collecting.
What got me was when he was nicknaming pokemon in Diamond he noticed the 12 character limit and recalled that FireRed only had a limit of 10 - He can remember that but can't remember basic type match ups. Watching DSP is like coming face to face with a lovecraftian horror, your brain just cannot comprehend what is going on.
EDIT: I just remembered on his last champions stream he called Abomnasnow, Obama Snow, and called STAB damage STEM damage.

Why do all of his kingsnake master plans always amount to him doing something extremely stupid that gets people to make fun of him, say it was all a plan to get people to make fun of him, but then he cries about getting made fun of and bans anyone making fun of him? If it was all a joke why do people need to be banned for doing exactly what he wanted them to do?

Phil is using Pokemon as a take tool to decrease his tax exposure.
We can't forget that the kino casino arc brought in a lot of money for him, yes he probably spent most of this on WWE Champions but now the taxes on that are due he's racking up business expenses to avoid paying that larger tax bill.
Long may it continue, he's in the same spiral as the quartering. A smart man wouldn't spend $1000's on business expenses to avoid a bill that's in the $100's
What is his point here? What is he trying to argue? The dev isn't saying anything about money or quality. Arguably, sf6 having a planned life cycle means it will keep quality up for that entire period. At the same time, a new game would likely mean more money than DLCs, especially as sf6 sold over 7 million copies worldwide. With 75k steam reviews, and 75k max online during its release but hovering around 20k to 30k on steam per dlc, it seems a no brainer that the money play would be to dev sf7 on release of sf6.
Again, dsp shows he doesnt understand game development anyways since AAA games usually take 5 years to develop. Guess he's just salty he cant milk a new sf release for dent bux till 2033.
i don't know why but it really annoys me that he suddenly feels like he's safe to say "retarded" all the time now after censoring himself for a decade.
