FRISCO, Texas — Karmelo Anthony, the teen accused of fatally stabbing another teen, Austin Metcalf, at a Frisco track meet, has been indicted on a murder charge, officials said.

A grand jury indicted Anthony on Tuesday, according to the Collin County District Attorney's Office. A murder charge is punishable by 5-99 years or life in prison.

Anthony, a 17-year-old former student of Frisco Centennial High School, was arrested and charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of Frisco Memorial High School student athlete Austin Metcalf in April at a track meet in Frisco ISD's Kuykendall Stadium. He was released from jail later that month after his bond was reduced from $1 million to $250,000.

Anthony has claimed self defense in the case, which garnered national attention, heightening racial tensions and raising security concerns among everyone connected to the case, including both families and Judge Angela Tucker, who is presiding over the case.

"We know this case has struck a deep nerve — here in Collin County and beyond," Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said in a statement Tuesday. "That’s understandable. When something like this happens at a school event, it shakes people to the core. But the justice system works best when it moves with steadiness and with principle. That’s what we’re committed to. And that’s exactly what this case deserves."

Anthony's attorney, Mike Howard, called Tuesday's indictment "an expected and routine step in the legal process."

"Karmelo and his family are confident in the justice system and the people of Collin County to be fair and impartial," Howard said. "Of course, Karmelo looks forward to his day in court. It's only in a trial that a jury will hear the full story, one that includes critical facts and context that the grand jury simply didn't get to hear."

Howard again raised Anthony's self defense claim in his statement Tuesday.

"We expect that when the full story is heard, the prosecution will not be able to rule out the reasonable doubt that Karmelo Anthony may have acted in self defense," Howard said. "Self defense is a fundamental right guaranteed every American."

Metcalf's father, Jeff Metcalf, told WFAA in a statement that he's "pleased that we are moving forward."

“With the first degree murder indictment, it now goes into the court system," Jeff Metcalf said. "I fully believe that justice will be served for Austin Metcalf. I look forward to the forthcoming trial. But it will never bring my son back.“

Under his bond conditions, Anthony is required to wear an ankle monitor and ask permission to leave his home. If Anthony violates any conditions of his bond, he will have to return to jail. He graduated and received his high school diploma in May, but did not attend the ceremony, WFAA previously reported.

Anthony allegedly confessed to the stabbing immediately after he was arrested, claiming he was defending himself from Metcalf, officials said, as WFAA previously reported.

A witness reportedly told police that Metcalf told Anthony he had to move out from under the Memorial High School tent. Anthony responded by opening his bag and reaching inside, WFAA previously reported.

"Touch me and see what happens," Anthony told Metcalf, according to a witness.

Metcalf reportedly then touched Anthony, the witness told a responding officer, and Anthony told Metcalf to punch him and see what would happen. Soon afterward, the witness said, Metcalf reportedly grabbed Anthony to tell him to move. At which point, the affidavit continues, Anthony reportedly pulled out what the witness recalled as a black knife and stabbed Metcalf once in the chest before running away.

The deep tension sparked by the incident has raised concerns that the case may be tried outside of Collin County. Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis told WFAA that the judge will make that decision at the time of trial.

I want stabnigger on the stand so he can babble in ebonics, struggle to speak, mispronounce words, and put the lie that he's an honors student to rest.

muh epstein elite are trying so divide us zarrrrr
Notice how this narrative started cropping up only when the left is finding itself on the backfoot.

Suddenly all the centrist cucks (who are ALWAYS leftists playing pretend) are begging the other side to bury the war axe and join them in the fight against the evil elites.

Someone should remind the centrist cuckolds that Epstein was 100% in support of everything the left is championing, and actively bankrolled most of their movements.

Can't talk about this shit anywhere without atleast one centrist slithering out of the woodwork to bleat and squeal about "muh epstein elite are trying so divide us zarrrrr!!! Just let blacks rape and keel you tew beat izzrael zarrrrrrr!!!"
I see this a lot on Twitter

"Da elites are pushing da culture wars to divide us when it's really about class! Wake up sheeple!"

"OK cool are you going to stop pushing retarded culture wars garbage than?"

"No"

Forgive me if repost but https://x.com/TheOnlyDSC posts are insanely redpilling.

Notice he uses humor and doesn't fly off the handle like you guys. I could never show my normie Republican friends this retarded website.
24 posts and this is like the 3rd or 4th time you went on about "y'all need to be more humorous/reserved for normies" just looking at your first page.

This is not a normie site, we are Internet spastics on a gossip forum centered around Internet eccentrics and weirdos, and a large part of the userbase is here simply for the fact they can call people "niggers" without getting banned. This site is not normie friendly, and never will be. If you want "normie friendly discussion", go somewhere else and stop trying to passive-aggressively imply the culture of the forum needs to change.

they did it's at the end of the spoiler in my post it wasn't helpful to them
Oops, I missed it. Looks like the defense didn't really say much or cross-examine them.
Seems that she may have repeated some gossip to police originally
Typical teenager, but at least she owned up to it and didn't spend her time on the stand spewing more gossip. I wonder if the defense even plans to call witnesses, seeing as how everyone so far hasn't even had the defense lawyer attempt to poke holes in their understanding of what went down?
Is something supposed to happen in 2045? Are the kangz supposed to come back or something?

Also, I had to laugh at that lady who says she's 'defended' herself with knives twice. Does she mean in the hood where cops wouldn't come haul her off? You almost should never defend yourself with a knife, because it's too easy to wind up being considered the aggressor if your opponent winds up disarmed (at that point, it could be argued that you used disproportionate force against an unarmed opponent), if they eventually give up while your adrenaline is still pumping, etc.

Sounds like typical ghetto violence.
That's 100% what he did according to witness reports I read back when this happened. He dared Austin to put his hands on him. Eventually, Austin literally put his hands on him with what I interpreted to be a single hand, maybe shove. Cigarello then dared him to punch him, which Austin wouldn't/didn't. But Austin eventually tried shoving him away/out or grabbed him and that's when Cigarello stabbed him and darted off.

I also read that his hand was in the backpack for most of this, concealing the knife,. Austin either didn't see it or thought he was bluffing. It's worth noting that someone scared for their lives would almost certainly "bluff" by producing the knife to back the person off of them. Retard black did the opposite, concealing his strength while luring in Austin to justify his attack. Cigarello didn't tell the first responders that he was about to be killed or was being jumped by two twins, but that "he put his hands on me." To me, it sounds like the 85 IQ talking, as if to say, "I met the legal requirement to murder this white devil."
Yeah, this kid was looking for trouble. No mention from any of the witnesses that Karmelo started talking to a friend of his, either.

Saturday first witness another minor

Saturday's first witness was a 17-year-old student at Memorial High School. He told the jury that he will graduate in 2027, and that he plays football and track.

Coach Robb Starr, who previously testified in this trial, was his coach.

Prosecutor Bill Wirskye asked the witness if he was aware that weapons are now allowed at school events. the witness said he was.

The witness told the jury that he was inside the tent on April 2, 2025, and was looking around "to find someone to talk to." He said only fellow teammates were inside the tent, some of whom were on their phones. He said that at one point, he saw someone he didn't recognize and asked his teammates if they knew him. This other individual was explained to be Karmelo Anthony.

"It threw me off," the witness said, explaining that he initially did not see any athletic gear on Karmelo. He said Karmelo sat down in the tent. The witness said he was not worried about Karmelo's presence but did want to identify him.

According to NCB 5's Maria Guerrero, who is inside the Collin County courthouse, the witness appears to be holding a red ball while testifying.

The witness said that at one point, he saw Austin and Karmelo stand up. He saw Austin put his hand on Karmelo's shoulder, followed by "a bunch of yelling." He testified that he heard Austin say "he stabbed me," and he heard Hunter, Austin's brother, say "he got stabbed."

He said he heard Austin and Karmelo arguing, but that he wouldn't say anyone's demeanor was angry or aggressive.

Was Austin responding to being provoked?" Wirskye asked.

"Yes, he put his hand on his shoulder," the witness said.

The witness said he saw Hunter run after Karmelo, but came back down and tried to help Austin. He testified that he did not see Hunter interact with Karmelo during the original altercation.

"No one even thought a fight would break out," the witness said.

The witness said the encounter was still hard for him to talk about, and that he'd needed some counseling. He told the jury that Karmelo provoked Austin and that the stabbing was not done in self-defense.

including the fox 4 in this one too might just start doing that with all of them

The first witness to take the stand on Saturday morning was a 17-year-old Memorial High School student athlete. He was initially under the Memorial tent but was walking down the bleachers when the deadly encounter happened.

"You know you're not supposed to bring weapons to a track meet, correct?" the attorney asked.

"Yes, sir," the student replied. "You don't expect to see someone get stabbed at a track meet or an event."

He testified that he didn't see anyone crowding Anthony. He didn't expect a fight, and he didn't see any reason for Anthony to stab Metcalf. He said the stabbing was not self-defense.

During cross-examination, Karmelo's defense attorney, Toby Shook, showed the witness a transcript of his interview with detectives, in which he said that Karmelo had gone into their tent on a previous occasion. The witness said he doesn't remember and clarified that he really meant that he'd seen Karmelo "greet" someone before.

"Was someone able to find a picture from Instagram of Karmelo when y'all were on the bus?" Shook asked. The witness said yes and explained that following the stabbing, his teammates passed around a phone with an Instagram photo of Karmelo on it.

"Do you remember telling detectives that Hunter popped in to defend Austin?" Shook asked. The witness said yes, but explained that he did not know what Hunter said.

The witness told the jury that Austin was larger than Karmelo and that he "could look intimidating just by his size if someone didn't really know him."

"No, sir. That's lethal force against non-legal," he said.

Under cross-examination, defense attorney Toby Shook pointed out that the teen told a police detective that he remembered seeing Anthony under the team's tent before. The teen clarified that it was about a year prior and that he saw Anthony "pass by."

not much new testimony he says that karmelo provoked it and Hunter Metcalf wasn't involved. They did the cross examination and the defense attorney asked about an instagram photo of Anthony for some reason, Hunter might have said something or did something to try to get them to calm down but the kid doesn't remember what, and he admitted that big ole Metcalf could look intimidating if you didn't know him.

Saddest part about this is that unless he gets the death penalty the punishment isn't going to be enough. Nigger's run prison and always look out for one another.
The only reason the average nigger doesn't care about going to prison is that a cell is at least if not more comfortable than the stained mattress in their filthy closet sized SRO with junkies pounding on the door and gunshots and car alarms going off every five seconds.

Karmelo is a preppy asshole who is used to playing PS5 in his parent's nice air conditioned suburban house.

He's accustomed to luxuries and a nice upper middle class life, prison is going to be absolute hell for him.

No not exactly true. They may run said prison but nothings free in this world and you need to be useful so either he's gonna need to cough up some of that 500k or shank another white boy or @CharlesBarkley can explain

Words are just magic spells to these kinds of people.
Unfortunately, it's not exclusive to blacks. The whole post war international order has been about empowering their specific brand of magic. "Power Word: Racist" was used to great effect against Henry Nowak recently. A favored spell among the White shitlib midwit class is "Peaceful Protest" and its variant "Mostly Peaceful Protest."
But to the original point, yes, blacks are dumb and think if they repeat the term 'self-defense' enough times, it will work, rather than it being an affirmative defense that you will have to prove in court.

Second witness for Saturday is another teenager

The state called another minor witness to the stand, this time a 16-year-old high school junior. The witness said he plays football and track. He was a freshman when the stabbing happened, and explained that he knew Austin Metcalf, saying that he was "pretty close to him" and would "call him a big brother."

The witness told the jury that he remembered the day of the stabbing, and that he was part of a group of boys who were told to put up the tent and bring coolers. Austin and Hunter Metcalf were also part of this group.

He said he saw a student from Centennial High School in Memorial's tent, and that he identified him because of the logo on his backpack. The witness explained that since it wasn't raining anymore, the Memorial students told him to leave.

The witness told the jury that "everyone in that group," himself included, told Karmelo to leave. He said no one was angry when they were asking, but that Karmelo would not leave.

"He tries to provoke us, like 'make me get out,' and reaches into his bag and says, 'touch me and see what happens,'" the witness told the jury, referring to Karmelo.

The witness told the jury that Karmelo instigated the altercation and that he, like previous witnesses, thought Karmelo was bluffing when he put his hand inside his backpack, "because it's a high school track meet and you're not supposed to bring in anything."

The witness then described the moments after the stabbing, saying he saw Austin with blood on his chest falling down the bleachers. He told the jury that Austin said, "he stabbed me, he stabbed me."

He said Hunter told everyone at the tent that Karmelo had a knife and that they needed to run, and then he went to Austin immediately and tried to save him.

The witness told the jury that "everyone was just crying because [they] couldn't believe what happened" when they got back on the bus. He said Karmelo's alleged friend, Eddie, was on the bus, and that the witness asked Eddie about Karmelo because the witness recalled Eddie referring to him as "melo."

The witness, like the previous witness, told the jury that Karmelo provoked Austin and that the stabbing was not done in self-defense.

"Was this self-defense or did Karmelo commit murder?" Wirskye asked.

"He committed murder," the witness said.

During cross-examination, the defense asked if the witness recalled telling detectives that he was scared of Austin Metcalf during football. The witness said yes, saying Austin was intimidating.

The witness recalled Karmelo and Eddie talking during the track meet, and that Eddie told the witness that Karmelo was "a friend" when they were on the bus.

the fox 4 coverage isn't much different on this one

The next teen to take the stand was a 15-year-old from Memorial High School who was also on the football and track team. He said that Metcalf was "like a big brother" to him.

"We all told him to leave," the teen said, referring to Anthony.

He testified that Anthony got "irritated" and "tried to provoke us" as he was asked to leave.

He remembered seeing Metcalf falling down the bleachers with blood on his chest.

He also said that when the team returned to the bus, everyone was crying.

"We couldn't believe what happened," he said.

"Did Karmelo Anthony act in self-defense or commit murder?" the prosecutor asked.

"He committed murder," the teen said.

This kid actually spoke to the guy who knows Anthony "Eddie" on the bus afterwards. He committed murder strong words my teenage friend. On cross he says he was scared of Austin on the football field, which doesn't really mean anything you're supposed to be scary on the football field lol

I'm so sick of hearing the whole "Th-they're just trying to divide us! Don't give into their manufactured divisiveness!" It's not manufactured or fabricated. The United States, and the West in general, is facing genuine, organic division. Progressive multiculturalism has entirely destroyed the monoculture (not solely to blame, but a big part of it). Leftist whack-a-doos are so diametrically different from normal people that they are basically living in a different reality all together. This division is so profound that it will take drastic measures and possibly even violence and bloodshed to fix it, forcing one side to either dominate or eradicate the other entirely. Bleeding-heart appeals for "unity and togetherness" won't work when the two sides are so fundamentally and profoundly opposed, and one side believes that they are 100% "on the right side of history" and should not have to compromise or give ground to the other side.
