FRISCO, Texas — Karmelo Anthony, the teen accused of fatally stabbing another teen, Austin Metcalf, at a Frisco track meet, has been indicted on a murder charge, officials said.

A grand jury indicted Anthony on Tuesday, according to the Collin County District Attorney's Office. A murder charge is punishable by 5-99 years or life in prison.

Anthony, a 17-year-old former student of Frisco Centennial High School, was arrested and charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of Frisco Memorial High School student athlete Austin Metcalf in April at a track meet in Frisco ISD's Kuykendall Stadium. He was released from jail later that month after his bond was reduced from $1 million to $250,000.

Anthony has claimed self defense in the case, which garnered national attention, heightening racial tensions and raising security concerns among everyone connected to the case, including both families and Judge Angela Tucker, who is presiding over the case.

"We know this case has struck a deep nerve — here in Collin County and beyond," Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said in a statement Tuesday. "That’s understandable. When something like this happens at a school event, it shakes people to the core. But the justice system works best when it moves with steadiness and with principle. That’s what we’re committed to. And that’s exactly what this case deserves."

Anthony's attorney, Mike Howard, called Tuesday's indictment "an expected and routine step in the legal process."

"Karmelo and his family are confident in the justice system and the people of Collin County to be fair and impartial," Howard said. "Of course, Karmelo looks forward to his day in court. It's only in a trial that a jury will hear the full story, one that includes critical facts and context that the grand jury simply didn't get to hear."

Howard again raised Anthony's self defense claim in his statement Tuesday.

"We expect that when the full story is heard, the prosecution will not be able to rule out the reasonable doubt that Karmelo Anthony may have acted in self defense," Howard said. "Self defense is a fundamental right guaranteed every American."

Metcalf's father, Jeff Metcalf, told WFAA in a statement that he's "pleased that we are moving forward."

“With the first degree murder indictment, it now goes into the court system," Jeff Metcalf said. "I fully believe that justice will be served for Austin Metcalf. I look forward to the forthcoming trial. But it will never bring my son back.“

Under his bond conditions, Anthony is required to wear an ankle monitor and ask permission to leave his home. If Anthony violates any conditions of his bond, he will have to return to jail. He graduated and received his high school diploma in May, but did not attend the ceremony, WFAA previously reported.

Anthony allegedly confessed to the stabbing immediately after he was arrested, claiming he was defending himself from Metcalf, officials said, as WFAA previously reported.

A witness reportedly told police that Metcalf told Anthony he had to move out from under the Memorial High School tent. Anthony responded by opening his bag and reaching inside, WFAA previously reported.

"Touch me and see what happens," Anthony told Metcalf, according to a witness.

Metcalf reportedly then touched Anthony, the witness told a responding officer, and Anthony told Metcalf to punch him and see what would happen. Soon afterward, the witness said, Metcalf reportedly grabbed Anthony to tell him to move. At which point, the affidavit continues, Anthony reportedly pulled out what the witness recalled as a black knife and stabbed Metcalf once in the chest before running away.

The deep tension sparked by the incident has raised concerns that the case may be tried outside of Collin County. Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis told WFAA that the judge will make that decision at the time of trial.

The deal offered probably wasn't very good. DA doesn't give you a sweetheart deal when evidence is so strong. Might have been like 40 years in the clink if you plead.

And that's assuming a plea bargain was even offered to begin with. Plea bargains aren't guaranteed and often will only be offered because the prosecution is concerned they won't be able to win on the harsher charges in court. There are times where the prosecution is convinced they can get a guilty conviction on all the charges and want to make an example of the accused, or the criminal fuck did something so egregious and despicable that they want to go for maximum punishment.

I'm seeing a fair bit of discussion about this case on social media. A mix of pro-Karmelo and anti-Karmelo.

Yeah, it goes as well as expected. Now the rationalization is "it's not about race." Okay.

That stare he had when leaving the court case, it's otherworldly demonic.

A Black minister standing outside of the courthouse stated that the American justice system is the “final frontier of racism and it’s legalized here.”

this nigger LARPing like it's Jim Crow, fuck off, black people get away with heinous shit all the time. it's nobody else's fault that niggers can't get with the fucking program and integrate into society, white society has bent over backwards for the black community to the point where politicians and the news media run live damage control for every fucking public embarassment they bring upon themselves. black people rob us, kill us, break our shit, sell our kids drugs, suck up our tax money, ravage our neighborhoods and cities, and every day our leaders tell us that if you have even an inkling of a problem with any of this then you are the lowest kind of human, an irredeemable piece of shit, a hateful freak who has no place in polite society. and still we all have to pretend like the fact that this niglet escalated a stupid fight with deadly force is understandable or acceptable in any way, and that any notion to the contrary is yet another shameful example of the white man trying to keep the black man down. it's all so tiresome.

Niggers are incompatible with society.

Niggers are incompatible with society.

Modern niggers wouldn't even make passable slaves these days. Too many generations of lazy as fuck welfare leeches having never worked a fucking day in their lives. Too violent, too fragile, too unpredictable, to incompetent, too unintelligent. Maybe it could have been reversed in the early 80s, but certainly not now. I'll never understand how a minority group that makes up barely more than 10% of the population is granted so much preferential treatment. I hope we as a society come to our senses and put them in their place. I think we will eventually, and I know these things can't happen overnight, but enough is enough already.

To be fair to the defense, it sounds like that lame "oh the other boy was bigger and he totally cried after" is all they have to work with, given that the murder has tons of witnesses and the idiot ditched the knife and made very self-indicting statements to the cops. Which doesn't bode well for them unless a woman in the jury got damp looking at Karmelo, in which case he's already free and none of this matters.
I mean when all you have is straw to build your house, you build it with straw and hope the big bad wolf doesn't blow it down. At this point the defense should really focus on Karmelo's shock and admission of guilt just to try and show it was an accident on his part and he never meant to kill Metcalf just injure him in a scuffle gone wrong. Eliminate that this was planned and premeditated in the hope the jury doesn't convict on the murder one charge but on a lesser murder charge. He's still going to prison for a very long time but maybe the jury will convict on a lesser charge and he only gets 40 years instead of life. It's not ideal for your client but its the best you can do with the limited resources you're given.

And that's assuming a plea bargain was even offered to begin with. Plea bargains aren't guaranteed and often will only be offered because the prosecution is concerned they won't be able to win on the harsher charges in court. Yeah i don't think he was ever offered a plea bargain for the reasons you mentioned: the prosecution had so much evidence at their hands they knew a convection was in the bag. Its the same reason mass shooters don't get offered a plea bargain to plead down from 20 counts of first degree murder to second degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm. There's so many witnesses and footage the jury would have to be insane not to convict. The only plea bargains they ever get offered are plead guilty to multiple counts of murder and you'll get life without parole but we'll take the death penalty off the table.

Not to mention lucas werner. He made honor roll at scc for some looney english papers he wrote talking about his magic sperm and how he should be able to impregnate teen girls cause of said magic sperm and telomere nonsense. More to the point the school recognized he's a fucking retard and not only allowed him to submit such a paper to his english class but upped his grade to get him onto honor roll for it

That is the shit i'm immediately reminded of whenever one of these idiots tries to say how they're totally a good person who dindu nuffin cause of being on the honor roll

Doesn't mean shit these days and if those two creeps can get onto it anybody can like you said. Its hardly an endorsement of anything other than the possibility the school did it because the student is a dumbass
I made honor roll nearly every year and never studied, or did homework. Every project I did was made with whatever I could find in the class beforehand in the 15 minutes between classes. I winged everything because I wasn't motivated to care much about school. At worst I got a c in a class or two because I never did homework. I passed algebra without even knowing what an algorithm was. I only came to understand it when I got into game programming years later as a hobby.

For years I thought "honor roll" was actually "on a roll"

Like you were on a good streak.

That's how disconnected I was and still was on it.

The fucking GALL of these people

Luckily, doesn't seem like there are too many, but if he is convicted, which is likely to happen, there will be chaos.
In a way I hope so. Rioting over the conviction of someone so obviously guilty will accelerate the fatigue.

I used to think that getting rid of all the uncivilized avenue apes while keeping the civilized, productive ones would be OK, but more and more I don't even want the "White-acting house nigger" types because they refuse to call out their bad actors. They refuse to take them to task and tell them to stop acting like violent knuckle-draggers because they make all blacks look bad.
The biggest problem the black community has isn't that a third of them are useless niggers. The biggest problem they have is that the overwhelming majority of the rest of them support the useless niggers no matter what.

I grew up in a town right next to Frisco that's why I'm so interested. When the Metcalf kid said we are in Frisco you don't have anything he was 100% right. My mother still lives nearby and it's going to be relatively peaceful from what I can tell. I could just say this based on my nearly 30 years of living in the area, that allows me to know that Frisco is about as white bread suburban as it gets (except The Colony, and Little Elm) with a bunch of jeets now who don't give a fuck about niggers. They had to change their high school football mascot from being the coons. Tbf racial demographics have changed a little, but there's not enough ghetto around there for riots to really take off.

hell yeah brother
My concern is that you will see a bunch of renta mobs if hes found guilty because the jury is almost all white. Again pair that with the kid who got shot in South Carolina I very much could see things get really tense.

Thankfully karmellos supporters are disgusting but we never know.

Forgive me if repost but https://x.com/TheOnlyDSC posts are insanely redpilling.

Notice he uses humor and doesn't fly off the handle like you guys. I could never show my normie Republican friends this retarded website.
Whatever your opinion of the farms or this section of it, it's not a website for political discussion. It's a website for gossip and lolcows. Even I came here for, and still read, lolcow shit.

It's just a different atmosphere because the entire site isn't really built for sterile political activism or adjacent activity. It's not built to be respectable. There's threads here about people/groups gross enough to peel the paint off a car.

Part of me wants the niggers to rage and riot

They're in Texas, not some blue state, Abbott won't fuck around and Trump is in the Whitehouse if he wants the Nasty Gurls unleashed.

Nigger fatigue isn't just a meme, a lot of regular people, both black and white, are just sick to death of them. How many times can you read/watch the shit they do and not just say "hey...maybe we would be better off without them."
