If it was her first offense, they may have offerered her a conditional dismissal. They'll put you on a kind of probation and if you stay out of trouble and complete it, they will wipe the charge off your record. Since shes an addict, it may have been part of her probation to drug test.
This is minorly infuriating. I understand trying to give addicts a chance to not have their mistakes follow them around with a possession offense for a drug that they're addicted to if they clean up. Or even if someone in a desperate situation shoplifts food or diapers. But heroin doesn't compel you to steal Maybelline eye palettes from CVS.

Yeah, I understand where you're coming from, but the conditional dismissal program isnt really about letting addicts off, its more of just "we understand people fuck up, here's a chance to wipe the slate clean." Its offered to mostly everyone as long as its not some crazy crime i guess. But once you use it, that's it. So if you keep fucking up, everything after that charge sticks.

I will say though that addicts and their lawyers have used this program to their advantage in a different way. My sister used to be an addict, got a possession charge, and her lawyer told her to save her 1 conditional dismissal for a more serious charge. I guess he assumed she'd be a repeat offender. I dont personally know what the threshold is for crimes committed and what qualifies for the program though.

At least in my area, any and all sexual offences are not eligible for it. Not sure about any other crimes, hopefully violent offenses aren't eligible either. I'm not super familiar with the program, though. I know our local Goodwill will help people out with it, sometimes I'll see local news about their program. I think it's a good thing for people who have actually straightened out and have changed and just want to move on with their life.

If Luna used it, it'd be really dumb because I highly doubt she is going to change. I could be wrong, but she's so deep into it and is also addicted to stealing. Stealing is just as big of an addiction as drugs and can similarly wreck your life. It's similar to gambling I suppose, it gives you a natural rush. She's not stealing to get by, it's all shit she wants to hoard and brag about her "hauls" to redditors. I've been around people like this, it's a compulsion and they will literally steal shit they don't even want just to throw it away after. It's insane to see first hand and not many talk about it.

Putting my chips in and calling the next time we get anything big from Luna is a prison arc. Then we won’t hear anything until she gets out and finds out lurch left her. 🌈

Honestly wish we heard more from her. I've been a long time lurker of the thread because she fascinates me as an ex-junkie myself from the same area as her. I knew so many people exactly like her, I honestly am surprised she and I never met. These heroin hoes are a dime a dozen.

If she’s actually sober, I wonder if she’ll soon have the epiphany that she’s wasted her youth and all of her problems have been self inflicted and pointless. What is this happiness, you ask? It’s what happens when you take care of yourself and your responsibilities and don’t warp your brain chemistry with random street chemicals. This is why you’re not supposed to diagnose bpd unless you’re sober first.

Goddamn, that back patch looks like shit. Placement is extremely off-center, orientation is crooked. If you can't be bothered to cut your shirt to to fit/fill the panel, then at least try to center it or align it with something. It's not even within the confines of the back panel; it's breached the bottom seam and is almost encroaching on the hem of the jacket itself. I'll be charitable and say that the uneven stitching might have been an intentional choice, but the big ass loose thread in the bottom corner is just sloppy workmanship.

And it goes without saying, but lolfat.
