I feel like a lot of people here don’t have much experience with Down syndrome.
I’ve got an uncle with it and the school I went to did a good job integrating the Spec Ed kids with the general student body (note: while also actually having them in specialized classes to accommodate them), so I was like thirty before I realized it made your average joe uncomfortable. I theorize an element for this site specifically stems from a certain Austrian painter’s views on the matter.

My position is based on the fact that I pay taxes and these people ultimately become a burden on society. We spend extra money educating the mentally handicapped so they can ultimately do less. They will never provide for themselves and if they outlive their parents they will become somebody's burden. If you have them in your family they take away resources from children who will grow up to be productive.

Conversely, the arguments against abortion is: "It's mean," and "God doesn't like it."

The first is a stance I don't care about. Murder is very mean but if you gave me the opportunity I could easily name a thousand people who should die right now. If you gave me a week I could get tens of thousands of names. Give me our entire Bureau of Prisons lifer list and I'd get you 200,000 names to be mean to.

The fear of being mean or unpleasant is why white people are losers and have lost everything. "Oh no the precious brown child would be ever so uncomfortable if they were made to feel unwelcomed in your country." Oh that's too bad, I don't give a shit. I don't give a shit about people who alienate me from my home and I don't give a shit about people who are net negatives to the tax payer. I'm very mean, but if everyone were mean in the way I'm mean, this country wouldn't be such a fucking shithole.

I'll be upfront that this is a third rail for me because since I was in high school when I volunteered helping with the Special Olympics something I've kept up with every year and I'm now well into my 30s. I did it at first because we were forced/voluntold to do so when I was playing football as a way of giving back to the community, and like I'd imagine a lot of people I was at first like "ew retards they probably smell and are gross." I could not have been more wrong, they're some of the most positive, genuinely funny, and fun to be around kids you can possibly imagine. And I find it to be spiritually fulfilling to do volunteer work like that. Do they have more specialized difficulties than other kids? Of course, but I've talked to many special needs parents and any one of them would tell you they wouldn't sacrifice anything to not have their kid, even with all the challenges that come with raising a special needs child.

So forgive me for being a bit MATI and thinking that not only is this extremely fucking selfish of these yuppy fucks, I'd even go as far to say as I think this is fucking evil. I'm pretty much against abortion fullstop, I think it should be the nuclear option. AKA only for extreme circumstances like rape, incest, etc. Like on one hand I can be sympathetic to the difficulties of raising a kid with Down Syndrome, but how fucking selfish can you be to take a life like that? It's something that doesn't compute for me. What so you can continue to be DINKs and be "influencers"? I don't know man, I just see red when I see articles like this, I can't imagine being that shallow and selfish when it comes to something like that. I'm not saint, I fuck up too, but again like I said this is a third rail for me.

I get why he did it, but why the fuck would you share this?
To answer this question, he had already put it out there about the possibility of having a child with down syndrome. I guess he thought it would be best to let eveyone know what the ultimately decided.

It happened while filming a scripted video for the gender reveal. His brother was the first to know after finding the baby was high risk for down syndrome when looking for the gender. It's pretty heartbreaking video and I do feel for both of them.

Btw this why if you or your spouse become pregnant, it's best to wait until your 3 months or so to reveal anything.

why would share this with the world?

abortion is like an israeli level hot button issue
Its probably a pr move to them, I imagine they announced the pregnancy at some point, if the baby comes due and then suddenly is no where to be found, they'd have endless harassment and conspiracy about where the baby is or what they did to it, and if they lie about what happened a "friend" will eventually leak it to the press, and a smaller issue will suddenly become a big issue.

Its their fault really, making every aspect of their life online though.

YouTuber McJuggerNuggets announced that he and his wife willingly aborted their child because it was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. (Pardon the mobilefaggotry posting, am busy but thought this was worth bringing up)
While sad and an unfortunate situation, given I'm Christian and I'm generally against abortion, I'd probably end up doing the same if I found out that my future kid was going to have DS or severe autism.
I have a cousin with severe autism and DS. His mom, my aunt, has had a few suicide attempts ever since having to raise him alone when her husband died shortly after he was born.
That said, I've always heard that if the kid only has DS, then it's easier to raise said kid vs a kid with severe autism.
Edit: This is what it's like to have a kid with severe autism, such as my cousin:

What about to have normal kids and resources for them so they can actually progress in life and not be perpetual burdens on society
After rereading the CH post of the dude’s xeets he says he wants to try again with his wife. I’ll be fair and take him at his word that he’s being genuine and I’ll take back calling them DINKs as a mea culpa. That still doesn’t change how I feel about this or for them. I’m not praying for them to miscarry or any sort of revenge fantasy shit, if they do have kids hopefully it’s successful. God bless. I still think what they did is a horrible sin that I know I would regret if I went through with it, but two wrongs don’t make a right.

Why 5th month?

Prenatal test results are available way, way earlier, within the first three months.

So why announce the pregnancy then..?

That being said, I agree with the decision to abort, there is no reason to keep a retarded child if you do not want to.

Since there are people in here down syndrome ain't that bad, i remember seeing a documentary about a downie girl that got raised by wealthy and very hard-working parents with a lot of support and she still was a full-blown retard, no offense

Abortion on demand supports eugenics. If a child having Down syndrome is enough to kill them, you're not qualified to raise a child, period. These two deserve all the shit they're going to get thrown at them. This isn't empathy. It's cowardice, I'm fucking mad at the internet, and these two told the world they're too weak to help a child with mental disability.
