Ducted minisplits can make sense BUT... if you're just going to build it into the fucking wall at the edge of the room and use huge registers there isn't much point. What it can make sense for, is installing it in the 2nd floor of the home as he's doing, so he can have ducts on that floor, and then just install a couple of ducts and registers in the ceiling for the 1st floor where needed. That way you're still only using one air handler, but can still heat and cool multiple zones.

The thing that worries me is that I remember that back in the late 2000's when cheap laptops were getting mainstream most of them used CFL as display backlight, CFL also needs high-voltage and I remember that it wasn't uncommon to hear about displays and motherboard getting fried because something(loose connection, bad design, ....) shorted the motherboard/display and you would need to replace the entire display or the entire motherboard

Some monkey wired up my LandRover incorrectly (they used some silicon sealant stuff instead of a plastic plug) and put incorrect fuses in, and guess what? I almost had a bunch of melted wiring behind my dashboard. If he had put the correct fuse in, the wires wouldn't have melted. I had to pull the entire dashboard out to assess the state of the damage and then repair the loom myself properly. All because the mongoloid couldn't be bothered to put the correct plastic plug in that costs £5.
