The Kick app is really bad given it's a pretty big platform. They don't even have an LG app which I find pretty disgraceful... Casting to TV is always like a minute behind.
Kick isn't a big platform at all. A year or two ago, 4000 live viewers on KC used to cause problems. IIRC They've built their entire infra on AWS (I am pretty sure they are using AWS Cognito/Amplify for user authentication). I would wager Kick probably doesn't have that many developers on staff, and developing an app for the web, Android, iOS and the several TVs is a major PITA. As a general rule of thumb, anything that isn't Chrome, Android or iOS is done on a "we fix it one day, maybe when we are really bored" priority.
Generally all these alternative sites suck to use if you aren't using Chrome on a gigabit connection, it takes a lot of effort to get a video to stream well on anything other than a domestic LAN/WiFi connection. I used to work on streaming video and scores to gambling sites, and it was a nightmare generally.
I just have an old laptop connected to the TV with a cheap wireless mouse and keyboard. Smart TVs and their ilk are crap.
