OK with this whole 9 am business i have been thinking that Jer is trying to passive aggressively get rid of Melonie mac. I think that while he may have some belief the time slot is better for some reason, he also believes that Mel would quit rather that get up at 7am and spend an hour puting her clown make up on. It's possible that by now his financial situation is hitting him harder than his need for validation from a female he will never get a crumb from.

After all the pity parties and talk of how they are such good friends being dog piled by traitorous ex "friends" and how loyal they are to each other hes afraid of facing her and also from the blowback from alogs who are counting the days till he has to fire her. This "scheduling conflict" would alleviate him of that in his mind. He seems like the kind of person that thinks he can talk his way out of anything. More specifically, I think Jer had Mel and Hannah (and Luke) on a contract. Now as his grift collapsed he’s been finding ways to get rid of them without breaching it. In hindsight, bullying Luke at Amfest and cutting his days was an effort to make Luke quit (which he did). He couldn’t fire Hannah for getting pregnant without getting sued, so he put her on the backburner to delay paying her.

He can’t just fire Mel for no reason, so he wants to make her break the contract by doing shows at 6am. It’s going to be interesting, how desperate is Mel for that $500? Will she restructure her life around having 5lbs of makeup shellacked on her face by 6am, or are we in for a dirty knife fight in the gutter when the penny drops and she realizes he’s “quiet firing” her?
