Any school is going to teach it likely around that time. So either the adults he is teacher dropped out, or failed math but were allowed to continue because of the "no child left behind" policy from Bush. But in red states its not like they aren't teaching basically the same curriculum they are everywhere else (at least generally).

If the people genuinely had never learned it, and it's not a case of they learned it back then, but forgot. I would say it's more an indictment of policies like the one I mentioned or something else in a similar vein.

From what I've heard, if it is to be believed they knew Israel's response was going to be severe. And that was why they did it.

I would need to check that what I had heard is actually correct. So I'm not going to say that is for sure why. But it makes sense. I don't support the decision obviously. But it seems like it accomplished their goal. Because there is no way Hamas was going to win any kind of real war against Israel. But what they can do is poke Israel and make their response as visible as possible.

The attack on civilians obviously isn't justified. But then look at Israels response. How many October 7ths has Israel committed back at this point. And in many ways their response really is more evil. Although this isn't something that is completely Trumps fault. There are people that do in my opinion have a warped view of the world. Culture war propaganda IMO is the worst offender in driving the country apart politically, and training people to view the opposition as enemies rather than just people with a different opinion. And at this point the machine fuels itself seemingly. Maybe with a nudge here or there to make sure certain stories are promoted while others go unnoticed.

To explain what I mean, even before Trump's failure on mass deportations, and ICE shooting those two people. The leftists in the country were already riling people up about border control being enforced, and deportations actually happening. Let's not forget that whole situation with the first woman getting shot happened because they were getting people to drive around finding, and disrupting ICE operations. The protests and the general sentiment towards them was basically the same before the shooting and after, it just handed them the best possible political weapon they could ask for.

But it's not like they suddenly thought the right were fascists last year. This has been an effort for the last 10 years (longer really). To foment division between people in the country. Look at what the radical left has ACTUALLY accomplished. I wouldn't say they've moved the needle in any meaningful way in the direction they want as far as policy goes. But what they have done is at every step cause division. It leads me to believe that is the goal. Its not to effect change from within the system. It's to break the system, and thus bring change. They have no interest in debate over the actual issues and what the correct approach is, they just want to sow division.

That said I think some of them are just dumb enough to believe what they are doing is actually helping somehow.

The only thing I'm not sure of is who really is promoting it at the top, and what their real goals are. It could be the Soros's if the world, which is the commonly accepted answer. But IMO it's just as likely there are other sources of it. CIA? Russia? China? Certain corporate entities that profit from the division? All of them? Idk.
