Again if word never got out about Cawthon's support of Republicans and anti gay conservative legislation, much like if Rowling never said what she said about wanting trannies out of women's sports and bathrooms. The thing is, disney is an entire brand. Someone like Gina Giancarlo gets ousted from star wars for being conservative? Or Tim Allen replaced as the voice of buzz lightyear? Fnaf and Harry potter are so vehemently tied to the creator and don't have a centurys worth of material that can just be written off as "a product of its time." I'm honestly surprised matt hasn't tried to defend Walt Disney despite everything we know about him that paints him as far worse than Scott or jk ever will be.

The thing about the whole "Tim Allen getting replaced thing", is that it was just a product of a VERY misguided approach with the Lightyear movie. It builds itself as "Andy's favorite movie that made him want to get the Buzz Lightyear that we know and love". Except for the fact that the Chris Evans Buzz is NOTHING like the actual real Buzz. I get the idea of making Chris Evans Buzz like a live action actor, and the Tim Allen Buzz being the animated spin off voice. I can see that working in theory, but again, they just dropped the ball since it's not even the same Buzz.

Pixar wanted to make this vibe of a campy 90's movie, only to do the complete opposite with that. It's no different to what the DCEU tried to be by making dark and gritty stories out of mostly campy and fun characters. They HAD a template with the 2000's Buzz Lightyear cartoon, but the filmmakers of Lightyear (Along with Lasseter) hating it for whatever dumb reason.

Also, sorry for getting into that whole "2 second gay kiss" scene that everyone won't shut up about, that's another reason why the 90's throwback fails. It can't be an in universe 90's movie that Andy watched if it's gonna try and pander to the progressive crowd, since that stuff wouldn't fly back then. What was meant to be a send up to 90's Sci Fi movies, ended up feeling more like a DCEU dark and gritty reboot mixed with an Interstellar wannabe. Throw in that stupid "Buzz being Zurg" twist villain, and you end up with one of Pixar's biggest fumbles in their library.

In which AniMat gave an 8/10, because Disney shill.

I debated on saying this in the western animation thread but given matt did criticize Tuttle twins in his angel studios video I decided to say it here.


I'm surprised matt claims Tuttle twins is a "pro crypto, pro fake money show" and said this show is gonna be responsible for "a generation of kids who end up poor because they "put their faith in crypto currency " I admit the show was definitely off mark with the episodes that talked about crypto (saying that as someone who knows next to nothing about crypto aside nfts were digital drawings people lost money on cause it was little more than a meme)

But that one episode Tuttle is very anti big government. They have made several episodes criticizing put of control politics from cronyism, the fda and the big food industry complex, even the military industrial complex of all things.


Really if this show wasmt made by angel, or was more center leaning but not highly critical of socialism, equating 21st century socialists to the Soviet union and post war divided Germany, matt would probably be at tyw very least lenient on it.

But nope, he's going full on socialist if his recent comments are anything to go on and like how he's completely disowned harry potter and fnaf all cause of the creators. He's refusing to give Tuttle twins any leniency.

But that's just my armchair shrink take on him.
