Is the gameplay getting pushed later and later a conscious choice on his part, weening his dents off gameplay bit by bit, or just a natural result of him avoiding the gameplay he hates so much for as long as possible?

He's really pushing it lately, it's increasingly common to get just over 2 hours of gameplay on the day stream instead of 3. You'd think his most die-hard dents who are there for the gameplay wouldn't be too happy about that, but then again, their brains barely function so they probably don't notice.

I think it's both. He doesn't want to play games anymore and he doesn't want to keep giving detractors Ws with game journalist game play clips.

He may not actually have depth perception. I knew a guy with a lazy eye and he didn't have it, even when his eye was straight forward he just always saw in 2D. He could still drive and shit but he did not have depth perception. And Phil does have a lazy eye.

If given an out to do literally anything else, he would. He has tried to diversify to no avail. Hes stuck playing video games and eating fast food until he dies or cant anymore. If the Pokémon set/card pack openings are a big hit(no they wont) he will start to buy more Pokémon booster boxes and the streams will basically become "dsp talks and/or eats until he opens a card pack" ad nauseum. I can also see streams where he will just sit there contemplating what sets to buy or looking up the value of cards he pulled. Honestly is very grim but at the same time it opens the possibilty of gold moments.

The only games Phil seems to have any knowledge of are ones where he memorized the guide or Chrono Trigger. Even games he claims to have played thoroughly (Super Mario World, Pokemon Blue) he seemingly has no knowledge of basic mechanics now. He only enjoys fighting games when he's winning, there's no joy in learning how to play them or god forbid, learning new techniques later on in a game's lifecycle. The only other thing he remembers/enjoys about gaming are how much a game made him.

Gaming on DSPGaming exists the same way the shows during a fundraiser exist to be content between hardcore begs. If Phil was offering mugs & totebags for contributions, he'd be the same thing.

He knows he cannot just sit there for 8 hours a day talking and begging. He'd be <100 viewers pretty quickly.
