Don't worry about the math. I drew a line that buying T&H gold up front justified a short periodic email explaining how half the donation was spent, with opinions on recent happenings, at Null's complete editorial discretion. I don't care if I'm a minority. Without politisperging too much, I believe the U.S. debt will come due in our lifetime, and that Null's hardship business experience is valuable. I'd be adding about 10% to my discretionary subscription budget, which currently comprises three expenses, two of which are for access to physical spaces.I don't understand the math.
To the extent the math matters, KF probably runs a cluster of frontends, so it's $1k each, not $1k total. This isn't a referendum on Null's income or ability, I already know it's criminally cheap for top engineering talent. I decided that because we now have a dollar amount to make the site sustainable, I want aggregate financial facts and hard-won opinions on how to run a small business when everything comes at a substantial cost and difficulty premium.Idk how to @ the guy with nordic runes in his name, he seems autistic enough to want to come check the math can someone let him know

I don't want to lurk through whining forum posts about how constantly doubling down without compromise alienates you from society. The self-pitying is obnoxious because the reality is that a solid and diverse community of people wants him to succeed, and they have various ideas about what that means; for me, it's sharing the library of business and financial knowledge in his head. I want to feel invested in the overall project while treating the forum itself as a litmus test. Sometimes I feel like being immersed in the forum influences my thought process in negative ways.
@Renon Is your brain just totally smooth or what? What the fuck are you even talking about, you think with 3 months of income he is gonna go out and blow it? There is no way this is even gonna last 12 months before the banks decide to gangrape the dog again and shut down the SEPA system.
I do like that you just asspulled a random number for forum expenses out of nowhere when you read the post the forum owner posted about finances and were then tagged in a post breaking it down. Now hat me you dumb gorilla nigger
So my last SEPA payment was returned with the message "Payee's bank unreachable" while the first two transfers completed instantly without issue. Will try again. It depends on the bank. Contact them.
If it's not TMI, how long at 600 subcribers a month until you're black? Still end of 2026?I have thousands of dollars in unsecured consumer debt accrued over 2025 from having almost zero income for half the year. It will take the remainder of 2026 to even right the ship.
Until he has at least $100k in net worth and his LLC turns a profit. For his skillset, probably $200k. If he were a Google employee he'd already own two houses and have stock options worth millions. If were an employee for a small welfare-grade Florida hospital network the whole time he ran this website instead he'd own 1 house and have a 401(k) worth $100k by now and half an acre of banana peppers and his own brand of pickled banana peppers called "Quicky Farm's Pickled Banana Peppers" packed by his celebrity gossip obsessed farm wife. This GPTslop is more or less correct. If it's not TMI, how long at 600 subcribers a month until you're black? Still end of 2026?
Yeah, if we stay at this rate by 2027 I will be in a really fantastic position. I still have to do streams and keep that income coming in as well though. If it's not TMI, how long at 600 subcribers a month until you're black? Still end of 2026?
Thanks! Cruising to victory is not a bad place to be, I'm really looking forward to the new stuff coning around. I use your services to be retarded, but I think it's very important anyways.Yeah, if we stay at this rate by 2027 I will be in a really fantastic position. I still have to do streams and keep that income coming in as well though.
That's why I'm really focused on improving the site and trying to find ways to get new people onboarded. The site has to grow and it's in a really difficult place at the moment. We're very censored by AI and search engines, and culturally we're lumped between X eating our dinner on politics, and a lot of edgy groups hate us for being too moralfaggy about lolicon and other third wires. To grow we're really going to need to prioritize our biggest strengths which is long term archival and organization. I'm working on that.
I'd also like to put together a volunteer news team to help the site spread its content out and get more eyes on it.
the community feature thread is already an excellent source of aggregated news content but the posts and the content it links to are old-school forum posts that are usually wordy and hard to doomscroll on phones like you can do on Facebook and Twitter. even the feature banners are awkward to view on a mobile device, which is what the majority of people use these days. what if, for community feature posts, you added three fields that people can fill out:I'd also like to put together a volunteer news team to help the site spread its content out and get more eyes on it.
This sounds fun and something I'd be interested in contributing to.I'd also like to put together a volunteer news team
What's the over-under on the new forum software? I recall you said you'd have more time to work on it when you started getting consistent income and some of the features discussed (community-editable OPs) would really help with thread collaboration and long-term archival.Yeah, if we stay at this rate by 2027 I will be in a really fantastic position. The chat, media processor, and new search are all parts of the rewrite. What's the over-under on the new forum software? Has any thought been given to making the forum software a product you can sell after it's been battle hardened, or are old school forums effectively too dead to be worth considering? The chat, media processor, and new search are all parts of the rewrite.
There is a design document that is planning everything out and it's near complete. Actually building the software will not be as complicated as testing it and getting the bugs out.
Unless plans have changed Null has clarified that sneedforo/the forum rewrite is going to be GPL-licensed and a free product of the USIPS.Has any thought been given to making the forum software a product you can sell after it's been battle hardened, or are old school forums effectively too dead to be worth considering?
