Crime D4vd Arrested for Murder of Celeste Rivas - Groomer turned baby mama murderer finally gets comeuppance

Singer D4vd has been arrested for the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who was found dead in Hollywood in the trunk of his Tesla in September.

According to the LAPD, D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was arrested by the Robbery-Homicide Division for the murder of Hernandez and is being held without bail. The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s office on Monday for filing consideration.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed they were investigating a trip the 21-year-old took to the Santa Barbara area sometime during the spring of 2025 following Hernandez’s death. A spokesman for the musician said in September that he was “fully cooperating with authorities,” though as of Nov. 18 NBC Los Angeles reported Burke was no longer cooperating with law enforcement.

Officers were called to a tow yard on Sept. 8 following reports of a foul odor coming from the car, which had been on the property for several days. Police found a dismembered body that had been placed inside of a bag in the front trunk of the vehicle.

The car was registered in Hempstead, Texas to Burke and impounded after being abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, where neighbors complained of a rotting smell. As of Sept. 9, the case was being treated as a death investigation.

Hernandez was reported missing from her home in Lake Elsinore, Calif., last year. She was last seen in April 2024, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. After her body was found, police said that because a manner of death had not been determined.

Shortly after the discovery, Burke quietly canceled his U.S. tour and postponed the promotion of his deluxe album.

This is the only motive that actually makes sense to me. He didn't kill her to protect his music career, he just really wanted to do it. I can't remember if it was being discussed in this thread or another one, but this guy was obsessed with gore and torture porn. All his music videos reflect his fetish for violence and dismemberment. I highly doubt they'd be allowed to introduce any of this as evidence in court though, unfortunately.

He lured her to his house and stabbed her multiple times, piercing internal organs and breaking ribs. That's a gratuitously violent and personal way to kill someone. He didn't dismember her because it was a necessary measure to dispose of her corpse, since clearly he had no set plans, so he must have done it for his own enjoyment.

And I'm sure he kept the finger with his name tattooed on it as a trophy. On this point I agree that he is a "rapper" and generally a dumbass nog. But he was much closer to the actual mainstream artist community and had done tons of collabs with non-black musicians and artists. The companies he was interacting with like Epic, MGM Studios, Netflix, and so on would have dropped his ass instantly with this kind of controversy coming out. There's always some other star looking for his shot to take his place. This would have been a better outcome than life in prison though but he's too dumb to see that and here we are.
