I'm certainly interested in this new bend in Local 58. Especially after remembering that TRI were the people behind the Real Sleep video. I don't think that's an AI being tricked into thinking it's heaven.
It's probably a real person. Less Greylock, and more SOMA.

I remember following him a few years ago because he put out a couple of decent videos back to back and figured he was on a hot streak. He proceeded to do nothing with that momentum and just fucked around for years, so this is hilarious to see. Completely squandered his shot to make decent money off YT.
EDIT: LOL of course it ends on an e-begging note. This dude needed to be working minimum wage at Taco Bell like, a year ago.

Shit man, I love MW19, it basically dragged the franchise from death with its more grounded tone and new sweet looking engine even though it had some questionable design choices, nothings perfect after all. But with these specific types of people, it's dudes who grew up on the original MW trilogy who then went on to roleplay with toys in the desert and forest with their night vision and who decided that they play more "mature" tactical realistic shooters like Squad and Ready or Not or whatever the fuck. As a result they're unable to let go of this idea that everything needs to be "realistic" CAGslop so they can live out their larperator fantasies. It's a brain poison and is infecting the general military FPS genre. But this is the thread about YouTube Horror Channels, I'll stop before I start spamming the thread.

It's kinda topical. Wendigoon invested a bunch of money into a tactical shooter called Bellum and basically bought himself a writers credit. It had a beta recently and it looked ok, but they were making buzz because quite a few milsim youtubers "invested" in the project and were shilling the fuck out of it.

Haven't heard of this. I like Wendi, I think his content is alright and he's a decent person (at least he presents himself as one) but I really do not care for anything he does outside of his YouTube content. The whole thing with Shadow of the Zone really soured my feelings on his creative endeavors, granted I've never watched the film but the trailers and sneak peeks just made me tune it out as more GPNVG High-cut helmet "Mercenary" larp shit written by the dudes who made those annoying SCP short films about MTF squads looking cool in gas masks. I can't really imagine what Wendi would contribute to a videogame that would really elevate it, especially a videogame that looks like a paid for ARMA mod from the 10 seconds of gameplay I watched of it.

His anti-AI rant and basically telling the creator of Angel Engine to simply hire a studio of artists inatead of using AI, focusing on time being the biggest issue with that instead of money, as well as trying to be the bigger person by saying he "believes he is not beyond redemption" like the dude commited a sin against God has really soured me on him. Wendi has gotten out of touch. Not to mention the hypocrisy of it because she shills other projects that use AI (ready or not) and uses AI for for the creepcast thumbnails.
I think he has a bit of an inferiority complex or maybe imposter syndrome being surrounded by people he looks up to who have made successful creative works while he is just a slub who got lucky with the YT algorithm one day. He tried his hand at acting and now he is getting into game development by basically paying to be a writer for a pvp tactical shooter.

Had to see what this was about if it's making rounds in the horror sphere.
Honestly, I'm actually impressed. The fact it looks like a real episode already elevates it above your average tranalog slop, but on top of that this isn't a story about "something off happens and the universe starts breaking down into eldritch, glitching bullshit" like every single AH, but it's about a very neurotic, abusive father who you never know when he's gonna blow a fuse and start hitting his own kids. It's a lot more grounded in reality, has a great setup for actual suspense, and sounds like a topic M&R would tackle in a episode if they were a bit more serious in their subject matters beyond being a comfort show for preschoolers.
Can't wait to see when the full video drops, hopefully 4BRAPs doesn't leak and reportfag again.

The Angel Engine video is an interesting one and to be honest I disagree. The video didn't come off as some moralizing shit, almost the entire point of the video was that there is really good writing but the visuals fuck with the context of it since it the AI is just not consistent with how it portrays the characters. The "hiring a studio of artists" thing is disingenuous as the writer hired one person to make the drawings for a bit and it looked fine, maybe the artist was charging to much, maybe they just burnt out, who knows. It doesn't take a studio to make drawings for essentially still images that soyjack when they speak and the creator clearly makes revenue with dumb mobile game ads and social media ad revenue. His whole thing of redemption has to do with how the general "analog horror community" views the use of AI, which is obviously hostile. His choice of words might've just made him sound kinda gay to you but it's just a normal statement that meant "he can come back from people dismissing his series if he got actual art." He obviously likes the series but he thinks that it can be improved with actual human made visuals and he goes into pretty decent detail about it. That's all I'm really gonna effortpost for that, I think it's an interesting topic but I can't speak for Wendi, this is just what I personally got from his video.
Again the whole point of his Angel Engine video is that it has good parts but would be better as a whole if it didn't use shitty AI visuals. I can't speak for the man but I would assume he feels the same about Ready or Not using dumb AI anime shit for the pedophile gamer dungeon which had a human hand develop the concepts and tone for the level before being rushed out the door because VOID is filled with incompetent retards. The AI thumbnail thing I have no clue about, I know that there was some drama with it but I don't know the whole context so I can't really speak on it.
From what I remember he's always been writing horror stuff on his Instagram way before his YouTube channel blew up, he just enjoys writing stuff clearly so I guess he thought he would give other shit a shot. If it was a pattern that he was "paying his way" into being a writer then I feel like you could say that he has an inferiority complex.
