I want it to be over quickly, but handled well. While I don’t hate Joe Rogan nearly as much as some people do, this entire bullshit ecosystem that’s spun out of his popularity needs to die. While it was nice to have some social commentary from people who are ostensibly independent and while maybe an individual person is more likely to be principled than a whole corporation, the issue still remains the same as legacy media. They monetize attention, so sensationalism and the stoking of drama and infighting is directly profitable to them.

Besides maybe the controversy around the 2020 election and COVID, I can’t think of a time in my life where politics and American culture have felt more schizophrenic, and on top of that, I can’t ever recall a time outside of maybe peak George Floyd times that it has been more apparent that so much of media and citizens are corrupted and propagandized to the point that they are openly hostile to the US as a nation, treating it as inherently evil. It has never been more nakedly apparent that something has to be done about this if the country is to survive long-term.

Oh and I had to get the priest’s autograph on the Sunday newsletter every single Sunday to prove I was actually at mass or the Sunday school teacher would be angry. And all my grandma would watch on the tv until her death was the EWTN Catholic channel, so constant rosary and mass on tv blasting through the thin walls.
Best believe I have read that stupid book cover to cover multiple times and in multiple different translations. And there was never a moment, even as a small child, where I thought any of it was real. For fucks sake, even my regular middle school made us study Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and Confucianism during social studies. All of this before having to deal with all the annoying internet atheists in the 2010s.
