The Dems have been begging some of their candidates to drop out in order to coalesce around just enough guys to push the Republicans to #3 or lower, but nearly all of them have been incredibly stubborn about it. Swalwell being sacrificed is particularly interesting because he had a bunch of endorsements from other Democratic politicians, but between him and Chavez, it looks like the Dems are trying to run another #MeToo media psyop. That said, I have no trouble believing that he's a sex pest.

I said this back when it happened with Cuomo in 2020 and I still believe it--he was taken out for Kamala.

He was grandstanding with his nationally watched COVID briefings, he was the leader of a coalition of states (NY, NJ, CT) that was in lockstep and pretty close to seceding had the crisis gone on longer. He had Presidential aspirations. He clearly was bothered by his father's last minute decision not to run and wanted to right that wrong.

For about 5 minutes, the Democrats actually considered Kamala viable, and I think the 6 Year Term plan of having Joe step down halfway through to give her the Presidency and a layup as incumbent to win in 2024 was on the table.

Cuomo was offered the US Attorney General position and refused. That sealed his fate. They wanted him in Biden's Cabinet because it would be a huge betrayal for him to primary President Kamala in 2024 since Biden's cabinet would be her cabinet. They absolutely did not want to run an oldish white guy against their Indian-African Queen. Not to mention she would have been nowhere near as compliant to the Deep State Advisors and Party functionaries that actually intended to run the Presidency.

So in comes Leticia, who was promised a chance at Governor and God knows what else to take out Cuomo, which she did beautifully. Then they sent her after Trump, which was not as super-effective.
