Iran Crisis & the 2026 War between Iran and the United States, Gulf States, and Israel - Please focus on news and coverage, not argumentation.

Why isn't he going back to the bombing of infrastructure that he liked bragging about now that talks have looked like they failed, did he just realize there would be too much political backlash if he actually went through with that?
Call the White House, tell them you’re a kiwifarms user and that you demand an answer from The President. I’m sure they’ll accommodate you.

Are we going to pretend this giant fucking sea out in the middle of Asia doesn’t exist? The world needs the Persian Gulf more than Iran needs it.
And who are they going to trade with across that? Russia? The Turkmen? Good luck shipping all your shit through the middle of fucking nowhere on the back of a donkey cart.

Maybe Iran can revive The Silk Road? Strap one barrel of oil onto a million camels' backs and lead a caravan over the mountains and through the desert. They can store the barrels in yurts overnight.

Are you questioning the US's presence in the Caspian? C'mon, we probably have a few subs in there.

More cynically, I think an approach of "We are going to navaly blockade Iran until they have a regime change, and btw we aren't going to take any other action to cause one," would be a very solid way of handling the situation cheaply. The world needs the Persian Gulf more than the US does.
Do we? It’s completely landlocked. How do we get them in there?

So the talks were a huge nothing burger. Who could have foreseen this? When do we get back to blowing up more towel heads? I just wanna see what new toys have been brought in to weed out these goobers. Also the hdf telegram is full of decent updates, but there hasn't been a new attack by them that we know of since the other night. Im guessing the telegram is managed overseas by pahlavists for the benefit of any youngsters in or out of Iran who can access it. It's not telling people to take up arms, raving against the irgc, or bragging about further exploits so it isnt clear just how active the HDF really is. Could just be a couple toughs with guns paid in bitcoin to put on a show for the histrionic diaspora.

Russians have built a long ass canal connecting the Caspian to the Black Sea. Issue being it's only in Russian territory. If any U.S. subs are in the Caspian Sea, the larger parts had to be sent over land and maybe air for the smaller parts. And then assembled in a non-Russian and non-Iranian port.

What would the modern equivalent of getting executed via molten silver be? Boiled in petroleum? Shame the Ayatollah got off easy..
I don't know if it's really the modern equivalent, but the most poetic thing would be to shove a pellet of enriched Uranium down his throat. It's primarily alpha particles too, so he'll actually absorb all of the radiation.

I find arguing over the "rightness" and "wrongness" of military actions that have happened to be pointless, as long as its effective and has done over what its supposed to achieve.
I don't see this being a winning strategy for Iran's long-term prospects. It would be like if Russia used its nuclear weapons on Kyiv at the start of the war, sure they'd win the battle, but now everyone recognizes what a massive fucking threat they are and now they'll do whatever it takes to destroy them.

A couple weeks in Iran could probably have negotiated relatively favorable terms. They could probably give up their nuclear enrichment and foreign proxies and get US money for reconstruction and getting sanctions lifted. Frankly, even the things that they give up would be good for them, they were just money sinks that ended up getting them bombed in the first place. Now though? They've demonstrated that they will hold civilians of uninvolved nations hostage to get what they want and they can't be persuaded not to with reasonable concessions. At this point the only rational response from the US is to knock them into the dirt until they can't even launch effective attacks against tankers 20 miles off their coast.

"Okay, whoever you are, just hold on, hold on. I need you to go back to square one and explain all this Chris-chan and Gamergate shit, and why I've got to bomb powerplants over them."

The ceasefire is still, until later this month, active. Provided of course that Iran or Israel don't fuck it up. tl;dr two more weeks trust the plan
If they can't even agree on a starting point this charade should be ended asap. Iran are just stalling for western economic pain at this point. It's time to flatten their shit.
