I’m very very tempted to pick up the Demon’s Souls remake. I played the original for PS3 back in the day and remember enjoying it overall despite its jank. Mainly because of the atmosphere. I remember being really pissed off and on the verge of ragequitting for good in the second swamp area lol.

But it was my first Souls-like and I think my expectations were a bit off since it was so different from any other games back then. I have since played all FromSoft games except Sekiro so I think I have more of an idea of what to expect and I want to give it a more honest shot.

Is it worth picking up? Should I wait for a price drop? What’s an appropriate price? Almost 10 Euros feels pretty steep for a game.

I think it's the best out of any of the Souls games (I've completed the trilogy and Elden Ring) and that it's worth it at full price, though, of course, get it on sale if you can. For me, it comes down to what you said: it isn't the most refined or full of content or whatever else, but somehow the atmosphere and mood is unmatched.

Edit: Actually, I'm probably underselling it a bit. Compared to the original, the remake is technically flawless and graphically incredible. You can't monitor FPS easily on console, but I'm pretty sure my playthrough was consistent 60 FPS and never any glitches. I think it's fair to say that it's also the best looking of all the Souls games.

Not the remake, no. Unless you like butchered art style and worse music and one extra armor set (penetrator) that you have to work really hard for.

I recommend replaying it on Rpcs3 and 4k if your device can run that.

No, since it's a perfect example why this demake culture that has infested the AAA industry is dog shit. It's neither faithful enough to replace the OG (and has no option for an OG mode or the OG game comes with it) nor does it remake the game enough, changing balance, new items, spells, weapons, and adding that cut Archstone to justify a remake. Dust off your PS3 or emulate the OG. Not to mention you would financially reward a studio that no longer exists.

Pick it up if you want. All you'll hear from the retards here is how it somehow gave their dog aids and made their dad leave for milk and cigarettes. Retards who hadn't cared about the game until the remake came out and they suddenly pretended to care about the Fat Official design or the piano notes for a single theme song.
Hardly any of the actual important shit was changed so the game plays exactly the same. If you'll shit your pants over some subjective changes(music and "art style") and pretend it means the OG game no longer exists because of those changes, then just play the Original.

You will literally not miss out either way.

Finally found something, but it's still not DS1 focused.

Dark Souls III Red Eye Orb English Description (lore):
The red eye orb is rooted in a tiny land swallowed by darkness long ago. Some choose to put the orb to other uses. To embark on this path, enter the service of Rosaria in the Cathedral of the Deep

Why do localizers fuck such a simple task up? I understand they essentially mean the same thing and it's not that egregious but my God the Japanese one immediately makes you remember it's New Londo.
Is it that hard to be direct and not so faggoty in wording?

What exactly is the problem?

They say the exact same thing except the English text flows much more naturally.

Wording. I've already addressed it in my fucking post. It's just preference. God some of you people in this thread are the absolute autistic or you don't read closer. URRE DURRRRRR WHAT IS LE LROBLEM after I tell you my precise problem. Just give me the fucking trash cans or disagree stickers instead of making me repeat myself with foolish questions.
"I understand they essentially mean the same thing and it's not that egregious but my God the Japanese one immediately makes you remember it's New Londo."
Hopeless. It's bleak. The souls fanbase is rotted beyond salvation, makes The Ringed City look comfortable.

"The Dark" is different from "the darkness" because the Dark as usually presented in the translations is a specific, proper-noun thing. I would say the fan translation of the Red Eye Orb above is also screwing up by not capitalizing Dark to be consistent, but that's me.

I’ve been in a very DS3 mood for the past month replaying the game repeatedly with new builds based on the major arcana. So far I’ve got
The Tower (tanking with a large shield)
The Hierophant (Miracle build)
The Magician (Sorcery build)
The Sun (Solaire)
Temperance (Greatsword, shield, pyromancy)
The Hermit (Bow only)
But now I’m running out of ideas on what to do for the other cards, except the obvious one (Strength)
Would any of you happen to have good ideas?

What made Gwyn's decision terrible was the time bubble the flame created but the world itself endured.
I forgot to talk about this, but what's important to clarify is the First Flame is what created the flow of time. With no flame (or rather, no light from the flame), there is no time.

If you believe the whole Usurping the Flame thing in DS3, there is totally some perfect scenario where you can take the flame and somehow time continues to flow, because reasons.

I mean some sort of time still flowed before the first flame, else the moment the first flame came into being could never pass, as time could never progress to the moment of its spawning.

From what I figured, the first flame brought disparity, dichotomy, and duality to everything, before it, everything was eternal, but lacked true life, everything was slow to do anything, the Stone Dragon's seemed to just stand there for eons.

The DS3 Repair description is clear: light is time. The First Flame is what brought light, thus it is what brought time. Yes, everything was eternal, but it was so in an unchanging manner because the concept of time, which changes things, did not exist.

Dark Souls lore is about not wasting your time edging and gooning all day and that you should get a job and be doing something worthwhile with your life or else you'll become hollow.
