Playing Bloodborne for the first time, just beat Amelia and the witch in charnel lane.

Any spoiler free advice on mandatory stuff to do as I play the rest of the game? I don't care about missing gear or weapons but I don't want to miss out on content by not interacting with some hidden obscure NPC or something.

There's a missable area in the game that appears once you kill Amelia, the only way to access it is by getting killed by the guys with giant sacks, once you advance enough in the game, the area is perma gone, its the only place in the game that acts likes this

Horace the hushed is described as one of Aldrich's children. Therefore he needs to have a mom or sth so it's Rosaria and Aldrich raped her. Aldrich also ate his own children therefore he rapes Rosaria for the sole purpose of having a tasty snack regularly.

If you're in the woods then you prob have the tonsil stone now, if you go to the grand cathedral there's a dead end with a pulling force that kills you, if you have the tonsil stone it teleports you instead to a hidden area

Even with the most malicious read on Gwyn, it's pretty hard to say he's anything other than a true believer in his cause. Also, I think its silly for a game where bonfires represent safety and healing to try and cast an "age of fire" as a bad thing.

Regarding the age of darkness, the only time I liked the option was in 3, as it was basically just euthanizing the world, I didn't think the game was presenting it as some great idea. In 2, I liked that the options were continue the cycle or look for a different solution, which seems like an actual choice, instead of just saying "fuck it".

Also, from a convo I had somewhere else on the site a while back.

To be fair, Team Usher the World into Unending Darkness is so bad at arguing their side of things that it usually just boils down to, "no trust me bro, the universe is cyclical and mom God said its our turn to use the xbox run the universe".

I don't mean it in an overly negative way, I mean its selfish in that its continuting the world that he claimed as his own, even post-humously, its for a great reason, the continuation of reality, but Gwyn almost assuredly did it because he claims it.

People do heroic and good things for selfish reasons all the time, even burning yourself alive can be bent to be selfish if the context is right.

The school before it happens to be one of the best soul farming spots in the game, just go into the classroom and lure them to the door and flamethrower em

Immediatly after defeating Vicar Amelia you will progress to the woods area (don’t remember its name but it is mandatory).

Make sure you find the cave in the Woods and climb up the ladder. Find the item called Cainhurst Summons. It allows you to access a secret optional area.

If you kill enough bosses that alter the time of day, the entrance to the woods after vicar plays out a lot differently with new enemies at night. Makes for an awesome replay vs the other games in the series.


Bloodborne remains the only souls game other than elden ring I got every achievement for. Except for their DLCs. I apparently missed some shit in my bloodborne dlc run even with guides.

The Japanese guy made me realize something.




While I wish the DLCs explored this story element more, especially The Ringed City, I like how Kaathe and Frampt are in the far narrative background of III.

These statues were apparently not even in the alpha, demo or trial versions of the game, and could have been one of the last assets fromsoftware added prerelease.

It could be other primordial serpents but then they wouldn't have made specifically two different assets for them, one looking holy and the other looking occult (Frampt, and Kaathe). Speaking of which, what's even up with them? Looks like lore only Zaki and fromsoftware would know. What became of the rest of the primordial serpents from the age of dark ending? Where are they if the age of fire ending happened, etc. It's possible they didn't really think that far ahead as well.

The Church of Sable is Kaathe related at least in the localization. Otherwise info is minimal.

This is selfish sure, but its still good, he does ALOT of pretty bad shit for the express purpose of keeping the world going, and he has such conviction to keeping the world going he burned himself alive.

How is this villainous? the man died for it, all the people saying he's bad always just leap over this incredibly important part.. he didn't make anyone else do it, he got in the Kiln and burned himself, as the first one, as testament for his ideals.

My confusion was always the darksing, the wording in the first game made me believe that it just spawned on humans the moment Gwyn sacrificed himself and that it was that wich caused the hollowing, i never saw him as a villain but a misguided man but now that i know the reasoning it makes sense why he did what he did.

That being said, does that mean that if the flame where to die out dragons would return? i dont think the games ever touched much the fact that humans could become dragons or at least part dragon.

The Dark sign is like a seal put onto humans to prevent them from gaining the terrifying powers within them from the dark or some shit. It's been a while since I played. This backfired and caused the undead curse or something among men in Lordran and the outside world. The dark would eventually consume them once hollowed anyway as seen in III. Gwyn's actions were almost all for nothing. Not even the mightiest king could save his kingdom.

Anyways all this shit happened before we came about in the story and between events established in the intro. Gwyn's actions alongside the other gods all caused Lordran to crumble in his absence if I recall. His family dynasty fissioned. Civil wars brewed before the game began and the remnants of the past are all scattered around the map. His dragon scholar betrayed them regardless of blessings bestowed for his work and research. His daughter had to abandon them and live in the outside world. His son, damned and forsaken, yet still respected among truly faithful warriors of sunlight. His other son, cursed and a vile crossbreed of some kind, usurped by Allfather Lloyd, Gwyn's uncle I think. Ironically Gwyndolin persevered despite his humiliating nature, and stood as the only successor to his father Gwyn. Until of course, he was consumed by Aldritch before the events of III.

It is unknown to me if Gwyn was responsible for the undead curse, it was an accident. But a deadly one that cost the world itself to erupt in chaos and eventually death and despair, eventually. It's why they closed off Anor Londo. Hollows could fuck up entire kingdoms. On top of that problem there were the god's own allies that betrayed each other or tried to usurp on another. More than fringe occult folk, it was other gods and their followers, once the world was fucked that they really had to look out for.

nah dawg the dragons are fucking dead, Midir is like the last full one beyond that old as fuck immobile one at the Dragon Summit, Nameless King has some sort of half-breed or something since it doesn't look right.

A sort of running theme is there is never any going back, all the forces in the setting yearn for a return to some great time, and as you see by DS3, there is a sort of pretend, an apeing of previous ages, but it isn't.

I have a theory that dendrification (the weird tree branch afflictions in III, the cathedral being covered with it and dark looking oily goo flowing beneath the stone) is deeper than just rot, it's humanity and maybe the dark itself going wild like what happened with Manus and the town, and forming (dark?) arch trees.

Well, Soulsborne fans. I'm sorry. It looks like Sony is going to do a Bloodborne movie with Jacksepticeye as the producer. Out of all of the YouTubers you could possibly have do this, Jacksepticeye is probably the WORST one of them. He's bent the knee to the woke mob at every turn in the past, and he's now in working with scumbags who will absolutely be out to break him and want him to fail. He's proven time and time again to be weak of spirit and character and incapable of handling any kind of pressure. On top of that, he's out of his element and dealing with American corporate scumbaggery is not something he's used to. This is probably the worst possible outcome and timeline, because this movie's all but guaranteed to fail now. Maybe, I'm calling this prematurely but I have no faith in Jacksepticeye.

If this movie fails, Bloodborne is DONE. There will never be a Bloodborne 2, and unless it's already in the works, there probably won't even be a remaster. (For at least quite some time.)
