The "Scientific Community" is so retarded and fake that they literally had the guy who invented the concept of washing your hands as a medical preparation in the 1850s put to death for daring to suggest their wonderful and gentlemanly hands could be the cause of infections, disease, and death.
When ledditors say "trust The Science!" or "it's Settled Science!", the "Science" they're worshipping is the Science of humours, lobotomies, and not washing your hands.

When you realize that in lieu of God, man will worship Fame, it's not hard to see how their idolization of Science is a religion replacement, Scientific celebrities are their saints, and the zeitgeist around it is their belief system which directs them on how to live their lives and act politically.
Of course, as the Scientific community is beholden to funding which it requires to operate, it's all a giant grift for the rich entities that fund Science as an institution to control thought by leveraging that funding.
Indirectly, it is corporatism as a religion, ironically puppetizing those that most style themselves as anti-corporate and anti-capitalist.

Millennials are echo Boomers, the generation, if Boomers had less material success to fall back on and were entirely made of cringe, but still want to be seen as cool, but ironically or something. Younger Millennials, some of us on the edge of Gen X are less cringe and don't care about being seen as cool. That's what "The Science" is to them, though. Of course actual legitimate science as a procedure to understand through trial and observation is a real thing, apart from the zeitgeist they adopt, but the pop idea of "The Science" is inseparable from the narrative hegemony that skinwalks the endeavors of striving for understanding.

Science as an institution does get absurdly corrupt though, which is where you get things like lobotomies and "climate change" from. The narrative infects the space it wears the mask of. Resultingly, the actual scientific community promotes that narrative hegemony worship that centers around it.
