Depends how much of it was subsidized and how much of it would be run down by the government on behalf of the banks. The point is that banks gave high 5 to 6 figure loans to teenagers who were sold the “if you don’t go to college you aren’t worth shit” lie their entire lives, and obviously the loans were at high risk of default (because they were shit loans to begin with). Banks shouldn’t be allowed to give out horrible predatory loans to people and then whine to the government when the shit loans get defaulted on.
