It didn't push us into a civil war, no. It did however wake a lot of fucking people up when in their own lifetime they saw the dems back and fourth the same arguments used for and against them again and again. I find his posts funny but for whatever reason every time he uses a plural first-person pronoun like "we" or "us" it irks the hell out of me, so I think Null should write a script to replace every use with its singular equivalent.
This AFAIK is specifically about birthright citizenship for non-citizens and illegals. It would have nothing to do with naturalized citizenship or citizenship by blood. Americans with 100 years of ancestry here should have absolutely no fears about this change affecting them.
If you're talking about existing children of temporary residents that have already been granted citizenship, they wouldn't be instantly denaturalized by the ruling if it comes down the way it should. Denaturalization would potentially be an individual process though, since technically their citizenship would have been acquired through illegitimate means. So some screaming torta who is protesting ICE by waving a Mexican flag might just learn to celebrate Mexico properly.
