Reminder that nearly 37% of the S&P 500, the largest held index fund, is made of tech companies at the center of this. We might just witness most retirement funds effectively vaporize if it pops well before or immediately after a reallocation cycle.
Put a bit of cash away, lads, "gently-used" H100's are going to start floating up on places like eBay on the cheap in the next few months to a year.

this is 2008, just kicked down the road until there's no more road. Literally everything from the past 20 years has been trying to kick that can down the road.

If we let the collapse happen back in 2008 it wouldn't even be this bad because we would still have more local manufacturing and a shorter supply chain, but since they spent decades trying to chase thinner margins and figuring out the exact minimum needed for people to live it's going to be so much worse. I don't have hard numbers but I'm pretty sure 50-75% of people in Europe and the Americas are on welfare, make work, or employment that is so niche that they provide zero productivity - and a massive financial crisis will lead to them not having any useable skills to fall back on, and no way to survive on their own in a world where they can't get heavily processed food made on the other side of the planet. Everything everyone owns is cheap shitty crap that's designed to fall apart, or reliant on specific services that won't be available. We'll probably start eating the old people.
i know you're doom posting like fatpackslite but i think the collapse that's coming is centered around housing and AI. thanks to the stock market being marketed as a get rich slow scheme everyone seems to be under the impression now that it's just a high yield savings account. the reality is that every packet you sign when you invest let's you know that you can lose it all. but that won't happen! up up up it only goes up!

If the whole AI bubble bursts while Trump is in office I expect a D win in 2028. They will push ad's shit talking Project Stargate programs so hard and being in office during a crash is never good for the party. I would guess that the R's keep kicking the can down the road if everything is set to crash, just to hope to push it off to the next term.

But to be honest ever since I was born theres always been people posting "This one is for real guys! Crash any day!" and nothing ever happens.

This is objectively a good thing. Even if ChatGPT was never invented there would still be a housing collapse, and by extension a market crash around the mid 2030s due to boomers dying off.
the housing balloon should have never been allowed to get as bad as it is now. i will say that the 50 year meme mortgage, which of course was just a desperate effort to spur home purchasing without letting the prices tank, was hilarious. talk about a suggestion that nobody even brings up any more, within a week everyone forgot about that. the wake up call for the made up home equity boomers will be when they try to sell their houses to pay for upscale nursing homes (IT'S A RETIREMENT COMMUNITY!) and nobody buys them.

It also depends on how much of the alternative economy Trump is able to build back up. If Trump can get manufacturing going again, which has progressed but still a major ask, then he can maybe cushion the blow of the inevitable here. Helps that the tech industry is already pretty deeply in shambles, so I think a lot of Zoomers that will be voting have already pivoted to not be affected, though we still have X and Millennials that will get hit.

Main upside I can give is that American jobs (and by that I mean jobs that actually hire Americans) have gone up a bit at the beginning of this year. Also if the housing bubble pops, that might actually be taken as a positive to voters, at least for Millennials/Z since that means they can actually get a home. Boomers and X are screwed however.

They are already mad. Tons of them are trying to sell off their properties to no buyers. If it wasn’t for Boomer entitlement that they deserve to get 10x+ the amount they paid, plus the additional government intervention, housing should be going down by now - and I believe it actually is in some states?

No one really knows what to do about this issue since Boomers are vital for voting and are fully convinced that line go perpetually up. In my state of Illinois, the government is looking into giant grants for first-time home buyers, though even with that I doubt many will bite. Zooms lack lucrative employment, if they are even employed, and you know these housing benefits come with strings attached. Given it is Illinois, I expect that it is for migrants more than young Americans like me.

Huckabee is such a corrupt and evil cunt, she embezzled funds with a podium valued at 20k with no recourse and wanted to fuck with the freedom of information in the state when it was used against her. Mind you, we're a poor shithole state and our capital has the 6th highest rape rate, 3rd highest aggravated assault, and is 4th overall in violent crime out of any city in the union and her concern as a politician is herself, her cronies, and literally fucking Israel.

This place is such a beautiful state with wonderful people in it that just gets ram-rodded by a governance of genuinely maliciously corrupt and evil people constantly. The corruption is so deep that we got to foster the king of corruption and professional shart of Satan's asshole: The devil, Bill Clinton himself.

I personally think this wench and her gaggle of cronies should be tried for treason, given a proper jury trial for this shit, and hung publicly if found guilty. That won't happen though, the world's not nice enough to let that happen.

America will never fall to islam.
Not trying to doom here, but if we sit on our hands let things go the way they are (especially our politicians), then it eventually will.

They are here, and they are actively spreading their Islamic crap all over the country. It isn't just Texas, it's everywhere. If Texas wasn't a red state, you'd already have Sharia law throughout some cities (which if I recall, was becoming a threat until the Governor finally did something about it).

Dearborn Michigan and NYC are just minor examples compared to what they're doing. For some reason, most Americans don't seem to wake up to that notion that Islam is here and it is taking us over from the inside out. They've been here for decades trying to erode our political system, and the Progressives are actively working with them until Islam has no purpose for them anymore (useful idiots until disposed of).

The problem is suicidal empathy. Child gets raped in a school by an Islamic guy? Aw shucks, that's just their culture, can't do anything about it.

It's fucking sick.

Europe is already done for. That's not dooming, that's a fact. UK has some sliver of hope because the people are well aware of what's going on and their tyrannical government knows it. They're fucked next election. Starmer is done for, at least I hope he is.

The US? Us? I think people are starting to wake up to that notion. Problem is. They wake up when its already imbedded within their community. If you have people complaining at a hearing, and you got politicians and a mayor that doesn't give a shit about a non-islam man's complaint because they themselves are islamic, you have a serious problem on your hands.

this nigger is serious! He must have graduated from the Zimbabwe school of economics!

if you think about it a basic universal income is an inevitability at this point.
every country is flooded with niggers and mudslimes all of which commit fraud and illegality to varying degrees and because every government is fucked beyond belief and incapable of doing anything about it the only real solution is to provide a universal basic income in order to reduce the amount of fraud, its just like niggers and foodstamps.
Give em barely enough so they dont get too uppity and steal more.

although this would only work if they also cut off all the NGO aid shit that let them steal hundreds of billions in the first place.
