as I understood it you were talking about iraqis rebuilding their WMD program
So Iraq given enough time could have rebuilt, and rearmed as Iran has done numerous times despite sanctions.
Israel already negated the incentive of funding through bulldozing of homes of terrorists
But Saddam was more than happy to support anti-Israel action. Which is the point, and another reason why an Israel minister wouldn't dissuade Bush from invading.
Other than telling Bush that Iran was a bigger issue
Which, and for some reason you are unable to grasp, isn't a word against invading Iraq. Do you not see that? At best you have, do this country first, then worry about the other guy. Which doesn't work at all if your position is that Israel was opposed to the war in the first place.
this was minutes after he said that first thing. it's the same exact press conference as you can see by the link
I'll just quote myself here:
What he said after the fact, after the fallout from his initial remarks. Yes people in positions of power backtrack. Again, congratulations on figuring that out.
A backtrack is a backtrack. Israel advanced the timeline, Israel told Trump what was going to happen, Israel decided to start this war, and Trump just went along with it because he really has no choice.
because israel didn't know how things were going to turn out with the new government and Syrian airspace was heavily defended by AA. Israel could circumvent it but it was difficult. They took it out when they had the chance.
So while Iran was still the primary threat, Syria was still a problem. Just as Iraq under Saddam was still a problem for Israel, and would mean that an Israeli Prime Minister wouldn't dissuade a gung-ho American President from invading and toppling Saddam. Sharon said himself said Iraq was a problem.
Being clear with what I meant:
Curveball was a greater influence in the decision to attack Iraq than Israel would have been and he was vouched for by both American and British intelligence. America led itself into the war based off his testimony.
If Israel knew Saddam had no WMDs, then Israel would have known curveball was shit, and Israel would have (hopefully) told Bush so. So either Israel believed curveball, and thus wanted Saddam gone for that reason, or wanted Saddam gone for any of the other reasons stated before. And if Israel was so set on removing Iran as a threat than Iraq, then Ariel would have said as much to Bush that curveball was shit, not to invade Iraq and that instead he should go after Iran instead. Yet he did not.
I think at this point its clear to all, you have no actual proof Israel or Ariel Sharon tried to dissuade Bush from invading Iraq.
