Moving right backwards, I watched episode 6 next...
The purpular rabbit thing... he has glitching disease. He openly telegraphs it, how the ones who glitch out aren't pleasant to be around. So it's when they go crazy. When they lose their shit they revert to their most socially destructive form and then they glitch out after causing terrible emotional pain and agony.
It's similar to real life, how someone with a mental disorder becomes less and less of themselves and more and more a monster that incessantly seeks destruction of socialization.
I think it's all metaphor for a mental hospital where the patients all see themselves as their disorder. Pomni sees herself as a clown because of her mental problems. Jax sees himself as a mischievous party animal. Rags (I'm making up their names, I don't remember them), she sees herself as everyone's plaything, she doesn't feel like a real person, she feels like a doll, like she's always just playing to people's wants rather than being herself. The modern art one, let's just call it the transsexual or pansexual or possibly omnisexual one of the bunch, it constantly wants to use infinite imagination to explore sexuality. She sees herself as living art, likely covered in tats, really bad quality, but justifies it as being a unique little snowflake. So she sees herself as unique in the most predictably poser way possible. The literal poser of the party.
Let's see, who else... oh the faces with the ribbon body is someone who is bipolar. They feel their emotions are a mask because they can't control them.
Then of course there's the audience, who is addicted to media, who sees them as the audience, having lost your sense of individuality... it's true, you really do lose your sense of self when watching media. You forget yourself.
Oh, lastly the chatterbox creator, the one who runs the asylum, they are an inmate, obviously, having long taken over.
What if the entire world went crazy? Even yourself? What if everyone went crazy in a way, where... no one could tell they were going crazy. Or, if they did, they just blamed the climate or the culture or whatever. One side accuses the other as they both slowly descend into madness.
Only Jesus can offer relative salvation from this sin. Only God can save.
It's like when they're shooting at each other with the guns. When they're seriously trying, like they're real guns, they don't work right, they work like real guns. But when they treat them like cartoon guns they can make "impossible shots" with ease. This level of creative influence gives every one of the characters the proverbial power of God, but... what God do you need to escape from digital bread and circus?
The God character is probably an amalgamation of what every character wants God to be, honestly, aside from all their masks and misprints.
Also, I think "abstraction" is code word for "suicide" in this show.
