The APLA Winning is one of, if not the worst outcome for the ACW​



This sounds facetious on the surface as there are way worse outcomes like AWD or the Cognoscenti but bear with me for a minute. Realistically in all likelihood an Atomwaffen America would at best either collapse on its own due to a lack of ability to actually lead and administrate or translate terror tactics to governance or they’d either be isolationist or lose out to a global taskforce. Cognoscenti are bad but are comparable to the system we have now and (for the most part) maintain stability and affect America primarily.

No, the APLA though, especially every path besides the social democrats are ontologically evil and are the worst to realistically take power not necessarily for America but the world at large and for one specific reason, debts and the role of America in the global economy. See, since most economies are fiat, service sector economies, much of the stability of the global market is based around debt and in particular debt from the American government, whom is seen as a reliable creditor which, in addition to the centralization of banking and exchange around the US via the IMF and other institutions, the US is the primary anchor for the world economy and is treated like a bank that is too big to fail. This then becomes a problem when that proverbial bank does fail which essentially happens during the civil war, which in itself would rock the world economy and cause the crash of most western economies.

Now whilst that’s bad on its own, what happens when a major debtor just chooses not to pay its debts and repudiates them? Not good things generally which leads to the crux of my argument as the APLA factions, of whom all but one faction either disagree with international debt structure or just don’t believe in it would whenever they win would repudiate the US’s debt entirely as the Bolsheviks had done with Imperial Russia’s debt.

This would be catastrophic for the rest of the world as, whilst the US is in a civil war the banks still operate and the two successor stated, the Union of America and Constitutional government both of claim the debt and we know from focuses that the financial institutions still operate in both countries, as they even do in the Patriot Front and NSM states. With the APLA however these banks would likely be nationalized and the debt repudiated entirely since they don’t claim to be a successor to America but a new state entirely. This would cause a complete crash of the world’s economy as any country that credited money to the US (most countries around the world) would now find that their loaned money would be worthless, massively fraying the cohesiveness of global banking and trade as the main nexus of those sectors would have essentially left the global market, leading to runs on banks, mass devaluing of currencies and likely famines or civil strife in other countries.

And the worst part is (outside of the anarchists) unlike AWD they’re probably not going to collapse anytime soon so there won’t be some sort of exile government to take its place and rebuild, the global economy would’ve just had it’s proverbial heart cut out and there’d likely be disarray for at least a decade globally before a new country or institution is agreed on as the new hub for trade such as China or one of the EU banks

Holy shit, how come so many of the HOI4 zoomers don't know Kill Bill? Like have they not played KSP so they don't get the references?

I am only saying this as someone who has worked on a RTS game, and has parts of that game saved (on ROBLOX albeit) . Even still, the scripts done are pretty good. No it's not that shitty ass ww2 game. Albeit, the dev did end up obsessed with money. Oh well, greed is his fault.

It gets worse. The mod was hijacked a few years ago. The new leads purged everyone that made the content you bought the game for and have spent that time reworking the lore from scratch. The only reason any of it's still left is because of the complete dev hell this has caused. Three years and counting to delete Burgundy just to give one example. Meanwhile actual updates have dried up and all that was released last year were some short demos including one for Chilean Antarctica. No, this is not a joke. This is the current state of the mod.

But there is hope! Look up TNO Rises Again on the Workshop if you want to experience TNO proper, made by none other than Goodwinson in this very thread. You can also give The Fire Rises a shot since that's what most people left TNO for after it went to hell.

Anyone else played it yet?
Zongo is pretty neat and the GUI gimmick game actually adds to the gameplay. Feels like playing Railroad Tycoon but with guns.
Lan Kir is broken, I think, or plays in some kind of way that just didn't make sense to me, it made me feel seasick trying to keep up with it.
Overall another solid release from a team that just keeps their shit together and puts out content. Still tickles me that the bronies are the sane ones when it comes to HOI modding.

I played Lan Kir and its just okay, I never felt like there was ever any meaningful opposition because with your focuses giving you loads of equipment you quickly become able to beat your opponents so you're seal clubbing nations until Kiria and then its back to seal clubbing. It might change as the region gets expanded but the other contentless nations are barely speedbumps so that initial expansion period (the funnest part imo) is trivial.
 
Do you want to hear a developer commentary of a soon to release hoi4 mod from a guy that sounds like the nerd character from Robot Chicken?
