Phil is really dug in against Nioh 3 now, to the point where it would be a wound to his pride to reverse his decision, so it's not likely to happen. Now that he's made it into a "I don't play Souls clones" and "only my detractors want me to play this so they can clip farm me" argument, obviously the people asking him why he won't play it are detractor LARPers trying to trick him so they can hit the front page of Reddit and thus, become rich off of his hard work. Like cologne reviews and Stellar Blade, when he gets really stubborn about something like this he tends to inadvertently turn it into a detractor meme since he'll pop off and go on a rant every time someone asks him about it.

Phil ducking Nioh 3 like it's a real job using the "clip farm" excuse is exactly this but it also reminds me of when he said that detractors would just clip farm him playing truck sim. He tried to spin it as him just getting a little tipsy and loose but he actually just was given the freedom to be more Phil.
Really the interesting thing to me is that it amounts to Phil being more or less aware that he is a bumbling embarrassment golem who can't help but be helpless to the point of comedy if given any freedom and/or challenge.

I'm not saying that Phil is aware of this on any advanced level, but him avoiding things because they apparently make him... act like himself must involve some kind of self reflection.

I would say how bizarre it is that he said the genre's getting tired only wanting to play the Fromsoft games followed near immediately by saying that he'd be all in on playing DSII modded which would literally be the same fucking game since it'll just be graphical mods since he's lazy, but then I realize it's Dave we're talking about.

Likewise with not understanding the difference between stuff like Lies of P (which for those wondering why he even played it given his current 'tism, he only played it due to Gamepass) and Nioh, and slop like Mortal Shell and Lords of the Fallen.

His grudge against the Cannons is hilarious. You'd think one or both of them killed one of his family members or stole his lover from him. All they did was ban him from a fighting game forum and he's got this eternal axe to grind.

What's crazy to me is it's because they banned him a lot. For really good reasons too. They were so lenient with him. You'd think this would make him some kind of free-speech warrior, but no, he bans absolutely everyone for any reason at all. He's unable to see the irony.

What's confusing is that after that endless begging stream, he just carries on that more DQ7 is coming. He can spew whatever, he clearly doesn't give a fuck about the game and isn't following the story. There's no logic in anything he does.

I dont think he is going to wagequit games as easily right now. he's been called out and has even addressed that he isn't going to quit games because they have low support.

That makes sense for big AAA titles and harder games to prove he's one of the best gamers in the world, but this is DQ7.

If he keeps this shit Crisol game in the lineup, then yeah, he's feeling the pressure to keep games in because he's been burning through them recently.

Just crazy how he can't ever make the right choice. He put Mewgenics on his list of stuff he would play but he is skipping it under the guise of... playing too many similar games and he wants variety? DQ7 is a bust just drop it and play the much bigger game that so far is doing huge numbers everywhere.

But nope let's play Crisol based on a trailer and its a bioshock-like and woah its boring as fuck and made worse since DSP is the one playing.

Always making the worst choice possible. Mewgenics is a great game, I hope he doesn't play it and ruin it. It's definitely game of the year material.

I think this is easily the most interesting period of Philstory. The constant need to hit 150 despite the goals being officially removed and “never coming back” really exposes his psyche. It doesn't really make sense but it’s interesting in the type of way you observe a zoo animal.

He is so mentally broken to the point where he believes his streams, chat, and video games are the real world and for the very rare times where he has to observe and interact with the actual real world it is though an inebriated lens. With the creation of the bans tracker, it proves this even more because the most insignificant comments are banned because they insult his reality, his world. I truly believe he suffers from covert narcissism and a plethora of other personality disorders, but this obviously is not news to anybody.

Perhaps there’s a more simple reasoning behind his obscure behavior.

That juri fight he just had really exemplifies dsp's problem; he's a pattern player, and he fucking rages when others learn his patterns. He got two wins straight on the second bout, but the other player learned his zoning and fucked him up. Phil is a creature of habit, predictable and a nigger.

One of the thing I love about detracting is solving the puzzle of why he does what he does. Thankfully, most of it doesn't require much effort as he's incredibly transparent. But watching him try to force his reality and see it come up against the real world is very entertaining.

Nights like tonight I miss having a good restream. Hell I'd take anything but all I saw was RawPhil, and I can't take more than 5 minutes of unedited DSP before I want to rip my ears off. I wanted to snipe him but I had to bail after the totally not Jaxx "anonymous" tips before he even started the game. Probably wasting my time anyways since the pussy doesn't accept wifi connections.

Brandood is okay (if you can tolerate how blatantly and autistically he mirrors everything about Tevin, all the way down to Tevin's speech patterns and mannerisms) but he goes live very infrequently now
