Well, the EU has done something and that is adding the IRGC to the terror group list.

The European Union has added Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to its terrorist list in response to Tehran's deadly crackdown on protesters in recent weeks.
"Repression cannot go unanswered," the bloc's top diplomat Kaja Kallas said, adding the move will put the IRGC - a major military, economic and political force in Iran - on the same level as jihadist groups like al-Qaeda and the Islamic State group.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the EU decision was a "stunt" and a "major strategic mistake".
Human rights groups estimate thousands of protesters were killed by security forces, including the IRGC, during weeks of unrest in December and January.

what this will likely serve to do is, even if Europe sits by and does nothing, it will give their politicians a moral standing to look the other way while the US buttfucks Iran yet again so they don't have to support US action but also won't feel the need to condemn the actions either.

This will also be pointed to by US officials to justify their actions if put under scrutiny by unfriendly sources to say "look we're bombing terrorists, you aren't defending terrorists are you?"

It doesn't effectively DO anything but it is the preemptive posturing that is to be expected in the leadup to the likely events of the coming weekend.

Other Muslim-majority countries are Sunni and/or secular. China and North Korea have state atheism. Russia and Belarus are the only countries where they will be safe.

I can almost assure you there was a deal cut with Putin for Iranian gold/crypto/monetary assets in exchange for asylum. No other country would take them willingly anyways, so Russia can set its demands on its terms.

Its not like Putin is rushing in to help he talked with Trump yesterday and seemed like they agreed on Iran not having nuclear weapons.

^ I need to add it is pretty symbolic that that EU is now labeling IRGC as a terrorist group I think everyone has the same picture at this point Iran is no longer going to be a theocracy. Or it could end up as Iraq 2.0 fuck if I know.
