It is a massive issue, but I don't think it's going to be anyones priority anytime soon sadly. There's alternatives at least, while imperfect: still offered for free like charter/online schools or via state grants (which most states have) can get kids whose family lack the money into some private schools. They aren't perfect, but there are ways to better education outside standard public schooling.
