I know people are disappointed in Trump, but I would like to add: Fuck the EU for looking away from Iran every fucking time. Muh muh freedom, muh muh women's rights, but not when it takes actual effort and skin in the game. Most European citizens want EU support for the Iran insurgents, even if it's only strong moral support in the form of clear official statements, but Eurocrats can't even manage that. They couldn't even put out a simple statement in support of Iranian women last time the people tried to overthrow the regime.
European countries are now seperately calling in their Iranian ambassadors to tell them that killing your own people is quite naughty. I'm sure the regime is very impressed. I am so disgusted by my region of the world.

Yeah, Euros tend to get awful quiet when it comes to actually defending women's equality where there are actually unequal.
I completely understand global leaders in the west not wanting to support a popular uprising; the last time this happened in Iran the Shah was replaced by the Ayatollah so I can understand not wanting to make shit even worse. Even look at Syria - Secular Assad replaced by literal Islamic council.
But the absolute limp-wristing by the ones who claim moral superiority as protesters are gunned down is infuriating. As is the fact no one will learn anything from this.
I'm not happy with Trump's response here either, but 1) see above about not wanting to trade bad for worse, 2) I know the US is committed elsewheres, but mostly C) I'm just waiting for Saturday before I start malding.
The EU should focus on building Fortress Europe and preparing for the future.

Iran has Intermediate Range Ballistic Missiles. If they can hit the Jews, its not that much further until they land payloads in your "Fortress Europe".
There's a solid case you can make this isn't America's problem (I disagree but they make solid points). However, this IS very much Europe's problem, and not just because of who controls your leaders.
