In retrospect, the point of comicsgate was to allow Ethan to take a paid vacation from real life funded by idiots. To review, since 2018 he has produce two issues of Cyberfrog with the third yet to even appear. Two comics now in eight years.
His stupid vanity project comic "Reignbow Brute" written by his buddy Cecil funded in 2020 and he still isn't done with it. He reduced it to a three panels a page book and he still refuses to work on it.

More on topic to this thread, I don't think Nick would be a shoe-in for the position anymore. For one thing, Juju seems to be largely ignoring Nick. How long has it been since Juju responded to any of Nick's tweets? It feels like it's been many months now.

An HRO non-update regarding the ongoing case of Nick Rekieta and Patrick Melton against Aaron.

There has been no developing news. Allusions and rumors from all parties indicated that a negotiation deadline had come and gone, but no hearing before the judge has been scheduled, according to the record.

But let us consider the following:

- Nick and Melton share the same lawyer, because Melton cannot afford one. This lawyer was Nick's criminal defense lawyer.

- Nick's HRO is only for 1 year and ends in about 6 months, while Melton's is for TWO years.

- There were strong indications that the judge wanted a settlement rather than to rule on the case, and the fact that neither order was vacated immediately indicates the judge was willing to let them stand, given sufficient evidence.

- Nick would rather exist in legal limbo than give Aaron a tangible W that shames Nick's lack of legal knowledge and experience, the effect is the same for Nick if the judge never rules or rules against him.

- Not pursuing the matter further means Nick doesn't have to pay an expensive lawyer to fight a battle he will lose.

- Ultimately, this screws Melton, who will have to either pay for his own lawyer or live under the HRO for another year while Nick walks free.

- Melton is powerless against Nick, likely because of his alleged complicity in the data breach of Aaron's Google account, which was a factor in the HRO petitions.

- Melton's only option is to reach out to the authorities if he has any knowledge of a crime and pray his cooperation doesn't indict himself and maybe earn him some clemency.

I wondered if Nick is just delaying things until the TRO will have been in effect as long as an HRO would have been if granted - at which point the hearing would be moot and Nick could claim he won. It sounds stupid but this is Nick we're talking about, he 100% would do something like that just so he could say "ACHKTUALLY the issue was never heard on the merits and got dismissed due to being moot!"

To any lawyers in the thread - would that have any legal distinction? If it became moot after Nick requesting a hearing and that hearing not completing? I know in MN you can get longer and longer HROs if they're against a person that has been issued one from you before, does that count even if they're all ex-parte or if the hearing never concludes?

Is it harder to get a brand new HRO vs. an extension on an existing one? Is Nick putting his chips on Aaron being too stupid/lazy to get a new one of the current one goes away without being fully adjudicated vs. getting an entire new one? Nick is clearly strategically (in his mind) drawing this out and trying to run out SOME clock. Whatever clock he though ended in December, and whatever clock he is riding out now.

And I think it's pretty sick that he's dragging MAPton along for the ride, personally. Not only does Patrick deserve to have to say "Yes daddy" to the Balldo because Nick's paying for the lawyer, he deserves to suffer the bigger legal consequences of the two of them.

There were a couple other interesting things in that clip:

- Nick is going to Ethan Van Sciver's (apparently) Atlantic City fan meet-up. Yeah. Ethan is such a degenerate gambler that I guess he can't miss a single weekend away from the AC blackjack tables. And Nick wants in on all that blubbery middle-aged guy fun.
- Toward the end of the clip Ethan and Nick have a heart-to-heart about Vito's problems with Dick Masterson. Social Media and Dick Masterson expert Nick is full of kind of great advice for Vito. According to Nick, all you need to do with Juju the Cow is be "straightforward". Vito just needs to Tell Juju what to do on the show and everything will work out fine. Then two of the biggest liars out there talk about the importance of not lying in dealing with others.
- Nick talks about how healthy he is now. he is just so totally healthy. And he NEVER wants a drink. The way you quit drinking is the Chad Nick way by just not drinking. He never ever thinks about alcohol and he is in just great health.
- Ethan Van Sciver was going on about how good and young Nick looks. How Nick looks as good as he did years ago now. Yeah Nick. Ethan really wants you. He could probably be the one to replace Aaron in your heart. Ethan sees you for the pretty girl you know you are Nick.

It's actually extremely unethical for the Barneswalker to represent both of them under the circumstances, especially when he is following Balldo's insane demands to the severe detriment of his other client. It doesn't matter who is paying. A lawyer is obligated to represent the client, even if someone else is paying him.

This is the kind of conflict of interest you actually get suspended for, and if Pedomelt ever pulls his head out of his ass, he has a pretty solid basis for reporting this assclown to the bar as well as filing a malpractice suit.
