I don't think Phil can even be that delusional. Asmongold gave Phil the "rub" in wrestling terms, and he knows it, that's why he reacted like he did. He even specifically agreed with Phil on his gaming takes. Not just any rub, this was like Hulk Hogan of his streaming genre putting him over out of nowhere.

I maintain that once Phil fully grasps that the Asmongold bump is gone (which will take time), and it shatters the cope he's had over a decade that "trolls ruined everything", we're going to a great meltdown that people here always hope for.
