It is very much a reach, however in the process of proving the other charges you're going to prove that one so might as well throw it on. It not only gives you better chances of getting the suspect convicted on SOME charge even if your main one doesn't go through, and gives you insurance in case of an appeal, but gives the prosecutors leverage to bargain with.
I.e. Plead guilty to the drug running charges and we'll drop the weapons charges or have the sentences run concurrent instead of consecutive.

I don't like Europeans and haven't liked them for almost two decades at this point. I find them to be smug hypocrites who engage in the same kind of export-oriented mercantilism as the Chinese (just on a smaller scale) and who invent increasingly annoying rules of social control that I find antithetical to everything my nation stands for. This does not mean I like the Russians or consider them friends - quite the opposite.

At a certain point, Europeans need to understand that the rancor they currently enjoy from the United States isn't some psyop or Americans simply being uninformed - we have very strong, sincere differences from them.
